00:00The reason why I really want silver hair
00:01because it's something new,
00:03and, you know, we're only young once, right?
00:06But I'm definitely low-key pretty nervous,
00:09but hopeful and excited.
00:11Hi, I'm Stacey.
00:13Today I'm getting icy silver hair.
00:15But before you see my transformation,
00:17please subscribe below.
00:18My hair journey goes way back.
00:21I've always wanted to experiment different colors.
00:23Only the tips, though.
00:24Pink, lavender, aqua, which is accidental,
00:28but I liked it.
00:29Later on, I decided to go out,
00:31get it professionally done,
00:32probably nine hours sitting in that chair.
00:34I realized the pain was too much to tolerate,
00:36and it was, like, very excruciating pain
00:38from what I remember.
00:40And I thought to myself,
00:41maybe this is, like, a no pain, no gain kind of situation.
00:44I didn't speak up, though, which I should.
00:46The following day, my scabs were falling off.
00:50My whole head was, like, a sapphire blue.
00:53It wasn't what I expected at all.
00:55So I was so traumatized then.
00:57And now, I decided to give it a try again.
00:59I'm really excited.
01:00Hi, I'm James.
01:01Hi.
01:02Today we're gonna do silver hair on you.
01:03I'm James, dear Miju.
01:05I own Miju Salon and Level One Studio
01:06here in Los Angeles, California.
01:08So I'm best known for pastel colors, silver hair,
01:12and also keeping the hair and scalp at a healthy level.
01:15I've been doing this for over 10 years,
01:17so I gained a lot of knowledge in that time.
01:19OK, so we're gonna divide the sessions into two days,
01:21just so we can keep your hair as healthy as possible.
01:24So let's get started.
01:25I like that this time around, it's
01:27gonna be split up in two sessions.
01:28I believe putting all that pressure to my hair in one day
01:32or sitting could be a bit too much, especially
01:35if my scalp was hurting last time.
01:37So I feel a lot better.
01:39I followed this stylist for some time, and I trust him.
01:42So that kind of helped me conquer my fear.
01:47Maybe to the normal person, it looks like just a simple
01:50bleach retouch, but actually it is a color correction
01:52where there's multiple zones that you have to lift and follow,
01:56and they all get light and get damaged at different time frames.
02:00So we break it up into increments.
02:01We start at the ends, get as light as possible,
02:04and then the middle part, and then the top.
02:05And then today's session, we pick out anything
02:07that's slightly blonde and try to lift it safely
02:10so we could get a silver result.
02:12It takes time, and you need a good eye for it,
02:15and definitely a lot of patience.
02:20We check every 10 to 20 minutes to make sure
02:22everything is going smoothly, and then we go to the next step.
02:26Next step would be the mids.
02:27We lift the mids and make sure that it doesn't get lighter
02:30than the ends, because then that would be too damaging.
02:33So once it gets to the right part, we go to the next step.
02:37It's so heavy.
02:38Like, my neck, it feels like after doing, like,
02:41like a hundred sit-ups or something, it's, like, pretty sore.
02:44Next step is on scalp.
02:46On scalp, we mix something very, very gentle,
02:4820 volume with oral therapy with vanilla.
02:51That one's a fragrance-free bleach, and it's more nourishing,
02:53so it's not itchy on the scalp.
02:55So that's why I choose it.
02:56It's also a bit thicker, so it's not going to drip
02:59and damage the rest of the hair.
03:06For at-home care, I recommend my client to use
03:09Fanola Fiber Fix Bond Connector.
03:11That one is a great mask, and it really repairs everything.
03:15Once we get that out of the way, it's time for toning.
03:18We tone with an ash silver color, but it doesn't pick up the same
03:21as if the hair is all light.
03:23It's going to be a silver blonde instead of a silver ash color.
03:31To me, hair is an accessory because you can always change it up.
03:36You can cut it up in different styles.
03:38You can do different colors, and, you know,
03:41if it goes wrong or if it's not how you want it to be,
03:43you can always change it, and it grows.
03:47We're done for the first session.
03:50I'm excited for our next session in a week.
03:54Hey, nice to see you again.
03:55Hi.
03:56So for the second session, we are going to look at the hair,
03:59make sure we see which one's light, which one's dark,
04:02and which one is a little fragile.
04:03The fragile part, we avoid it or we put a treatment on it.
04:06On the dark parts, we're going to put a weak lightener to get it blonde,
04:09and the parts that are in between, we're going to paint it a little bit
04:12so it gets a little bit light, but not too much.
04:17After it all gets light evenly, we're going to rinse it,
04:20and we're going to apply the toner.
04:21The toner is the same as last time, but it's going to pick up differently
04:24just because the hair canvas is completely different this time.
04:33And then we have our icy silver hair.
04:36Ready to see your new hair?
04:37Yeah.
04:38Okay, open!
04:40Oh my god!
04:42What do you think?
04:43Oh my god, I'm blown away.
04:46Oh my god.
04:46You're so icy.
04:47Yeah!
04:48You made me an icy queen!
04:50Nice!
04:52Wow, I didn't think this would ever be possible.
04:55Overall, I feel super excited, super happy, and just really impressed
05:01because this is an experience that I've never had before.
05:04I did not feel any pain.
05:06So I really like the results on Stacy's hair, especially on her skin tone.
05:10I think she looks like a completely different person.
05:12It looks really good on her.
05:13It's really shiny.
05:14I love the waves.
05:14I love the color, and I hope she likes it too.
05:17Is it important to see your profession for this?
05:21Absolutely, especially if the bleach is going to go on your skin.
05:24I am so relieved that I was able to get it done right, and it kind of changed my whole
05:31perspective
05:32of letting go of your fear and doing your research too, and it's worth it just to get the results
05:38that you want.
05:39And it's just not the look that comes out, but it's also how your hair and your head feels.
05:43Like, my hair looks good, but my head feels good as well.
05:46You ready to see my hair?
05:48Yeah.
05:49Turn around.
05:52You like it?
05:54Yeah.
05:54Yeah.
05:55You're really good.
