00:00Hello, welcome back to Womanhood.
00:01Hello.
00:08Today we're talking about midlife.
00:12It's the time of life where you're really hitting your stride.
00:16You don't know when you're gonna die, so technically it could be at any point is your midlife.
00:21This has been half my life.
00:23We're gonna have a brief intermission, and then we'll have our second half.
00:27It's the halftime show. Cheerleaders come out.
00:31Maybe Sting is there.
00:33Certainly.
00:34I'm so sorry, guys, if you're feeling a little bit of tension between Aparna and I.
00:39We had a bit of an incident on set today.
00:42Aparna threw a diss at me.
00:46Got my tunic.
00:49What did you say to me before we got on the set?
00:51I said, if you're not divorced before you put that thing on, you will be now.
00:57Yeah, I'm sorry. We're supposed to be talking about the middle of your life.
01:01And quite frankly, I can't get out of the middle of this pain.
01:04Here's what happened.
01:05The stylist did Aparna and then got violently ill.
01:09She got food poisoning.
01:11Yeah.
01:11She got food poisoning in between styling us.
01:15I always go second because I'm younger.
01:18It's time to talk about midlife outfits.
01:21What do you want people to remember you for?
01:24Do you want them to remember your name and your face?
01:27No.
01:27No way.
01:28Do you want them to remember,
01:30that woman's scarf is still in the room but she's gone.
01:35Yes.
01:36Yeah.
01:36Because then they can call you at home and that's an automatic phone call that you get.
01:42Oh, hello?
01:43I was up to nothing.
01:44Hello?
01:45Who's this?
01:46Oh, it's me from the firm.
01:48Oh, from the firm.
01:49Martin, from the firm.
01:50Martin, how are you?
01:51I was just cooking dinner for one.
01:52I'm good.
01:53Listen, I don't remember your name or your face but your scarf's here.
01:57Oh, wonderful.
01:58I'll come by.
02:00Click.
02:01And then you've got yourself an errand to do.
02:04That's what midlife is about.
02:06Finding new ways to spend time.
02:09A lot of people try spiritualism.
02:12Do you mean like new religions?
02:15Yeah, I mean like new religions.
02:17What about?
02:18Aparna, I can't answer any more of your questions.
02:21Time's wasting.
02:23What are the three slogans of midlife crisis?
02:26Dance like no one's watching.
02:28Live like no one's spending.
02:31And spend like there's no tomorrow.
02:34One of the best things about having a midlife time is getting lunch with the ladies.
02:40Because when you are out with the ladies, you pretty much know what everyone's gonna order.
02:46Same thing every time.
02:50There's Margie.
02:51She always gets fruit bowl.
02:54Hides cheese on the side.
02:58Mary gets a Cobb salad.
03:00Doesn't eat the lettuce.
03:01Rebecca gets soup.
03:04Crumbles all the crackers into the soup.
03:08Just has the soup.
03:09Leaves the mush.
03:11Jerry gets a waffle.
03:12Puts butter on it.
03:13No syrup.
03:15Asks for honey.
03:16Doesn't use it.
03:17Carrie gets an iced tea.
03:19And says she's not gonna eat.
03:21Then at the end of the meal, splurges on a sundae.
03:25And Aparna.
03:27Aparna gets a big ol' bowl of ice cream.
03:30Joe always gets a very grown up meal.
03:32Real cheese sandwiches.
03:33Only the crusts.
03:36Crusts are softest.
03:38Pickle?
03:40No thanks.
03:42That's pretty much how ladies lunch goes.
03:45Did we leave anyone out?
03:47Ruth!
03:48Ruth!
03:49Oh, Ruth!
03:51This has been womanhood.
03:53We hope you heard something you already knew.
03:57And learned something you already do.
04:00I wish that the stylist didn't get food poisoning.
04:03I think I would've looked nice in a shirt like this.
04:05I look like a million cents.
04:07And I look like I got cents enough to like that tuna.
