00:00Tropical storm Bertha will make a second landfall today. After making landfall in Louisiana, Bertha is expected to come ashore
00:05again along the upper Texas coast near Galveston later today.
00:08Now so far, the biggest impacts we've seen have come from storm surge and that coastal flooding threat does continue
00:13in Texas.
00:14Along the coast, including Galveston Bay, be prepared for one to three feet of storm surge, which can flood low
00:19-lying roads and communities.
00:20Now Houston's also in the line for rain today. Another two to four inches is expected across parts of southern
00:25and coastal Texas, places like Corpus Christi.
00:27And if rainfall rates approach an inch an hour, flash flooding could develop quickly, especially in low-lying and poor
00:33drainage areas.
00:34Wind gusts of 40 to 60 miles per hour could also bring down a few trees and cause isolated power
00:38outages.
00:39Dangerous rip currents and even a few water spouts are also possible along the Texas coast, and that rip current
00:43risk, it lasts through at least Friday.
00:46So if you're heading to the beach, especially one you're unfamiliar with, check local beach flags and conditions before getting
00:51in the water.
