00:01Good evening, you're watching India First. I'm Gaurav Savant. It's a day of high-octane drama on the protests that
00:09have been taking place in the national capital. Big story coming in. Top government sources have told India today that
00:16the Congress party has set a very wrong and a dangerous precedent by carrying out a protest right outside Prime
00:24Minister Narendra Modi's seven Lok Kalyan Magh residents.
00:28Top government sources telling India today what the Congress party has done is a huge security threat. It's a grave
00:37security threat. It's spiteful behavior and it is not seen in mature democracies.
00:45Government sources have also told India today that the Congress party should not forget what happened in India's neighborhood when
00:53such protests targeted residences of top leadership.
00:57This comes after Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and President of
01:05the Congress Party, Malik Arjun Khargay, Congress Party MP from Vainad in Kerala, Priyanka Gandhi, Wadra and top Congress leaders
01:12incidentally including two Congress Chief Ministers, VD Satisan, Keralam Chief Minister and DK Shiv Kumar, the Chief Minister of Karnataka.
01:20They were all detained from outside. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's seven Lok Kalyan Magh residents after they carried out a
01:28surprise dharna.
01:30It was almost like a flash mob dharna that was carried out.
01:34So, all the top Congress leaders, they had assembled at Malik Arjun Khargay's Raja Ji Marg residents to celebrate his
01:42birthday or ostensibly to celebrate his birthday.
01:45And then suddenly they marched from there to seven Lok Kalyan Marg residents of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
01:51The police were caught unawares.
01:54Agencies were caught unawares as Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, led this entourage of top Congress leaders
02:02including Jairam Ramesh and others to seven Lok Kalyan Marg.
02:07Rahul Gandhi has since been detained.
02:10In fact, we'll show you those very dramatic images.
02:12There you see that image just a short while back.
02:14That's Priyanka Gandhi, Wadra.
02:15She was trying to get into that bus where Rahul Gandhi had been taken, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha.
02:21He was taken into a bus, detained and then taken apparently towards Model Town Police Station.
02:28Initially, they were taken towards Parliament Street Police Station, then taken towards West Delhi and then that bus suddenly turned
02:33towards not West Delhi is what sources are telling India today.
02:37Samajwadi Party Chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav also joined in these protests.
02:43Yes, he's also been detained earlier after meeting Rahul Gandhi at this protest site because the moment this protest happened,
02:50we had told Prime Minister Narendra Modi's office immediately dispatched Minister of State and PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh.
02:57Given that there's such tall leaders, such a big delegation of the Congress party was carrying out these protests, Dr.
03:04Jitendra Singh rushed to seven Lok Kalyan Marg, outside seven Lok Kalyan Marg and he interacted with Rahul Gandhi.
03:11See, now there are two versions that come out.
03:15Dr. Jitendra Singh said Rahul Gandhi asked him that there must be a discussion on NEET paper leak in Parliament.
03:22Dr. Jitendra Singh said absolutely, done, accepted, now call off your dharna.
03:26Rahul Gandhi said let me take this back to my leaders and other leadership.
03:31Then he came back and said no, we are also insisting on resignation of Dr. Dharmendra Pradhan, his Education Minister.
03:36Dr. Jitendra Singh says none of this was part of the conversation that he initially had with Rahul Gandhi and
03:42then he turned around and said what Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party are doing is Rajnetic Nautanki of political
03:50theatre, political drama.
03:52Dr. Jitendra Singh also said that the BJP or the government had agreed to Rahul Gandhi's demand for a discussion
03:59on the paper leak that Rahul Gandhi backed off and said he will not leave till there's an assurance that
04:06the Education Minister will resign.
04:09Meanwhile, there's another battle that's going on between the Congress and the Arm Admi Party.
04:12I'll tell you about that in just a moment.
04:14But listen in to Dr. Jitendra Singh and listen in to what happened on ground.
04:18Dr. Jitendra Singh and listen to Dr. Jitendra Singh.
04:48Dr. Jitendra Singh.

06:23democracy in India is happening right now
06:28democracy in India is happening right now
06:54big statement by Priyanka Gandhi Vardra
06:57we are not scared of them they are scared of us
07:01point one point two news just coming in
07:04apparently Rahul Gandhi was also injured
07:07you've seen that image of Rahul Gandhi
07:08being down on the ground efforts were
07:12being made to lift him apparently
07:14Congress party workers look at those
07:16images look at those images apparently
07:17there's a red mark close to his nose
07:20was there a nosebleed was he hurt we're
07:24still waiting to hear that is what
07:25Congress party insiders are telling us
07:27I quickly want to cut across to my
07:28colleague Rahul Gautam who was on ground
07:30zero tracking the story very very closely
07:33Rahul do we know where Rahul Gandhi is
07:35right now where are other Congress
07:37leaders and has that area now been
07:39secured and sanitized for the entire
07:44area around 7 LKM has been cleared off
07:48it has been sanitized completely as far
07:51as Rahul Gandhi is concerned we've been
07:53informed that Rahul Gandhi has been
07:55taken to Chhatrasal Stadium in
07:57Mordel Town and Priyanka Gandhi has
07:59been brought in here where I'm
08:01currently standing at Mandir Mal police
08:03station along with these two leaders
08:05there are there are many more Congress
08:07entries who are accompanying them they
08:09were also detained along with these two
08:11leaders Congress is saying that the
08:14government is not ready to accommodate
08:16any demands that were raised by Rahul
08:18Gandhi by Congress leaders and that's
08:20what led to the showdown that we saw
08:22I myself was there Gaurav outside 7 LKM
08:27at the very doorstep where Rahul Gandhi
08:29Malika Tunkargev and Priyanka Gandhi
08:30they were sitting and the kind of
08:33showdown we saw was absolutely
08:35unprecedented two LOPs, two chief
08:37ministers, 120 Lok Sabha MPs, Rajya Sabha
08:41MPs, then there were Achilles
08:43Shih Yadav who also arrived there in
08:45solidarity so clearly it seemed that
08:47the opposition is in no mood to give
08:52any space or concede any ground as
08:54far as this issue is concerned they are
08:55saying that we have primarily four
08:57demands, A, SAC, education minister, B,
09:01have discussion on the floor of the
09:03house on all the demands that have been
09:04raised by students, C, there should be a
09:07time-bound investigation into what
09:08happened yesterday and four, four
09:10minister should make a statement on the
09:12floor of the house so clearly it seems
09:14that Congress had decided that they are
09:17not going to budge from their staff and
09:18obviously going to garner more support on
09:20this issue as we speak.
09:22Very aggressive, the Congress party is
09:23extremely aggressive, stay with me for a
09:25moment there is more breaking news coming in
09:26we are getting a statement from leader
09:29of opposition Rahul Gandhi, this is the
09:31latest statement that he has issued
09:33while he was detained, Rahul Gandhi has
09:35dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul
09:39Gandhi as leader of opposition says
09:41exert all your might, bring in all your
09:44might, fight for justice will continue, a
09:49fight for justice will not stop, Rahul Gandhi
09:52then goes on to say fight for justice will
09:55not halt, Rahul Gandhi now is being taken to
09:59Chhatrasal Stadium in Model Town as Rahul
10:02was just reporting, he is going to be
10:05detained there for some time usually when
10:07protesters are held by Delhi police and
10:09it's almost standard operating procedure,
10:14male detainees are taken to Chhatrasal
10:16Stadium, detained there and then released
10:18subsequently, women detainees or
10:21protesters are taken to either Parliament
10:23Street Police Station or Mandir Mark
10:25Police Station, detained for some time and
10:27then released, I want to once again bring in Rahul
10:30Gautam for more on the story, so Rahul, this
10:34is clearly preparation for a much longer
10:37fight, sansad se sadak tak, fight on the streets and
10:42fight in Parliament, Rahul.
10:46Well, you know, as I was telling you earlier also
10:49Congress has escalated the fight, they are
10:52increasing the heat, believing that government
10:54is on back foot, they are in a tight spot, they
10:57didn't do much to defuse the situation which
11:01unfolded yesterday and therefore they are only
11:03cornering the government on these issues because
11:06they believe that the youth is agitating at this
11:09point of time, students are agitating and therefore,
11:12you know, they should stand with these students.
11:15So that's why the political messaging, my messaging
11:18happening, Gaurav, at this point of time, you saw how
11:21Rahul Gandhi yesterday condemned the violence, released a
11:24video statement, they demanded discussion.
11:26Today morning they met Lok Sabha's speaker, again
11:28demanded that there should be discussion and then
11:30around 3.30, we saw a Dharna, a flash protest outside.
11:35It was absolutely unprecedented.
11:38So clearly Congress is on a warpath, gloves are off.
11:41They believe that the government is on back foot and
11:44therefore they are pushing it further and trying to create
11:48a narrative that government is too much.
11:48Stay with me, India today has the biggest team of
11:50reporters, Mossmi Singh, you know, will join us in just a
11:54moment.
11:55We have a big team of reporters joining us from ground zero
11:58on this story.
11:59Arvind Ojha has been tracking all the developments on
12:02the law and order front.
12:03And amidst this reports, there is another story that's
12:06coming in and that's a big Aam Admi party versus Congress
12:10fight that has broken out while Rahul Gandhi and Congress
12:15leaders were protesting outside 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.
12:18Aam Admi party leader and former chief minister of Delhi,
12:21Aatishi, launched a sharp attack, both on the Congress
12:25party and on the BJP accusing the two of engaging in
12:30political jugalbandi or having a tie up.
12:35She criticized the Congress for its recent protest for
12:39their protest outside 7 Lok Kalyan Marg residents of the
12:43prime minister.
12:43Aatishi said that these developments expose the opposition
12:46party's political stand in the national capital.
12:49Aatishi said, and I quote, this is amazing.
13:14So this is where Aatishi is accusing the Congress and the BJP of
13:20being a hand in glove.
13:22Soon after, Aam Admi party leader and member of parliament Sanjay
13:27Singh also hit out at the Congress party.
13:30He too put out a post accusing the Congress of weakening the
13:34CJP protests.
13:36Yes.
13:36Now, he said Congress.
13:49This is being said by Sanjay Singh, Aam Admi party MP that Congress party has been
13:56permitted to protest outside 7 Lok Kalyan Marg to weaken the
14:01Kaukrut Janata party protests that have been on.
14:05I quickly want to cut across to my colleague Anmol Bali for more on this.
14:10Anmol CJP protests have been on for quite some time, but then you had
14:14union health minister JP Nadda, he interacted with the representatives of the CJP.
14:20And you have Dr. Jitendra Singh, MOS PMO, who's interacted with Congress leaders.
14:24Why does the Aam Admi party, you know, say that CJP protest is being weakened and what
14:30is Aam Admi party's interest in a CJP protest?
14:38As you know, Gaurav Abhiji Dipke, the founder of Kaukrut Janata Party, a
14:41satirical movement online which became a nationwide movement on the social media, which
14:47later became a protest here in the national capital where we have seen that earlier
14:51hundreds of students joined the protest, but later Sonam Wangchuk, the climate
14:55activist who sat for the hunger strike, then thousands of protesters joined this
14:59movement.
14:59And yesterday we have seen that how thousands of students from the various corners of India
15:04and the national capital gathered in the national capital.
15:07We have seen the incident of stone petting to the police action against the students
15:11and the protesters.
15:12And now we are seeing political brewing on this issue where now Aam Admi party has made
15:17serious allegations against the Congress party in the Bharati Janata party and on the other
15:21end, even Congress party has hit the Aam Admi party on this issue.
15:24We have seen today while the Congress leaders were protesting outside PM residents, we have
15:31seen that Congress leaders have questioned the Aam Admi party.
15:33They have clearly said that Aam Admi party is the team of the Bharati Janata party because
15:39Abhishej Dipke, the founder of this movement, was related to Aam Admi party.
15:43He was the head of the social media team.
15:45And we have also seen that in the initial days of the protest at the Jantar Mantar, various
15:50of the Aam Admi party leaders from Sanjay Singh to Minister Saudia were the first to visit
15:54the protest site while the students were sitting for the hunger strike there at the Jantar Mantar.
16:00But now we have also seen that Cocker Janata party's leaders have given a call for peaceful protest outside
16:07the Delhi police headquarter.
16:08Later they have called off, they have cancelled the protest.
16:10They said that all of their comrades, those who were detained by the Delhi police have been released,
16:16but they are being informed by their lawyers.
16:18But still I'll show you on the ground.
16:20Currently I am here outside the Delhi police headquarters where you can clearly see that around,
16:24on the 8pm, the Cocker Janata party has given a call of a peaceful protest here outside Delhi police headquarter.
16:31But later they have cancelled, they have tweeted that all of their protesters,
16:37those who were part of yesterday protests has been released by the Delhi police,
16:40those who were detained here.
16:41But clearly Gaurav, I'll show you how Delhi police is ready here with the anti-right gear,
16:46shields and baton in their hands if a situation like yesterday arises,
16:50thousands of protesters come here outside the Delhi police headquarters.
16:56So they are ready not only here on this gate, I'll also show you on the other gate.
16:59Also I'll ask my camera person, Abhishek, he will show you that outside all of the gates
17:05and even they have barricaded all of the streets connecting to the Delhi police headquarters.
17:09So they have at the one hand, the politics is escalating on this issue.
17:13Dr. Shama Mohammed, national spokesperson of the Congress party also joins me.
17:17Dr. Ajay Alok, RT Jairatwa with me on this.
17:20Yes, Dr. Vikram Singh with me.
17:21But Dr. Shama Mohammed, quickly coming to you.
17:23The Aam Adni party is accusing the Congress party of being the B team,
17:28of having a Jugalbandi with the BJP to weaken the Kaukrut Janata party protest.
17:32Your response ma'am?
17:34I mean this is laughable Gaurav.
17:36We are the principal opposition party.
17:38Rahul Gandhi has been, is the first person when this NEET issue happened.
17:43He was the first person who spoke about it.
17:45We have done our Chhatro Ki Goonj in Rajasthan.
17:48We did it in Uttarakhand.
17:50He's been at it from the beginning.
17:52And for the Aam Admi party to talk in such a manner is really ridiculous.
17:56Because when I remember when Abhiji Deepke came from the US to India, he didn't even write for the permission
18:06at Jantar Mantar.
18:07It was given by Delhi police to him to protest in Jantar Mantar.
18:11I mean, we need to ask how did he get that?
18:13Who is basically the B team?
18:15And like you said, he was part of Aam Admi party before.
18:19And why are they getting upset?
18:20Because we all opposition, even Akhlej Yadavji is involved, many others are involved in this,
18:24are joining these protests because we feel for the children of this country.
18:28And it is the right thing to do.
18:30And let's see what has happened today is Mr. Gandhi, Rahul Ji was peacefully protesting.
18:36There was no need for the police to take him, arrest him, do whatever he's been.
18:40And I saw him bleeding also from his nose.
18:42Yes.
18:42We are worried actually.
18:44I am very worried about my leader.
18:46What is happening?
18:47Why is he bleeding?
18:48Why is everything not peaceful in this country?
18:51You know, when you are peacefully protesting, come out, have, you know, do things with us.
18:57The BJP is actually accusing the Congress party of dangerously risking safety and carrying out a protest outside 7 Lokalyaan
19:07Marg.
19:08There is a designated protest spot.
19:10It's Jantar Mantar.
19:11Protest there.
19:12Why outside the PM's residence?
19:13Okay.
19:14So why, why was, no, during, during the UPA time, you remember when the Nirbaya incident happened?
19:20Everywhere, all over Delhi, they were protesting.
19:23Ram Neela Maidan, you know, at, even in South, everywhere.
19:28Did they have a particular spot?
19:29See, when a protest happens, why should it be in a particular spot in Jantar Mantar?
19:35Isn't it?
19:35So, at India Gate, I remember people all gathered at India Gate.
19:39You know, Gaurav.
19:40You were there at that time.
19:41Did we stop anybody?
19:43Yes.
19:43Because this is how democracy works.
19:45Who are they to tell us, go and protest in a particular spot?
19:48AndтАж
19:49Ajay, I will respond.
19:50Who are they to tell the Congress where to protest, where not to protest?
19:54At a time when the Congress is actually being accused of having a jugalbandi with the BJP.
19:59Aham Admi Party says it's a fixed match to weaken CJP.
20:03See, this crisis of taking the credit is not my problem.
20:08The problem is the kind of anarchy they are trying to create.
20:12Anarchy?
20:13What?
20:14You also forget very conveniently, Gaurav.
20:17Didn't the whole opposition protest in front of the parliament, just beside the Gandhi statue?
20:23They could have protested at the parliament if that was so.
20:26What better than parliament?
20:28The most sacrosanct place?
20:29They deliberately chose prime minister's residence and it's the wrong president, I'm telling you.
20:34It's absolutely a wrong president.
20:36What they were trying to say?
20:38We can take you for ransom?
20:40First, you say, we want to have a discussion in the parliament regarding need.
20:45Fine.
20:46Agree.
20:46Then you say, no, it's my way or highway.
20:48I also want to have a manipulation.
20:50You want to take the elected government of this country by ransom?
20:54Are you a terrorist?
20:55I'm sorry.
20:56Gaurav, can I speak now?
20:58Charge, you level against the leader of opposition.
21:00Dr. Shama Mohammed wants to respond.
21:02Dr. Shama Mohammed, the Congress party is being accused of trying to create a situation
21:06by trying to terrorize, you know, people to carry out and set a wrong precedent.
21:11Respond, ma'am.
21:12Gaurav, whenever we are not out there, people say, you know, what is the Congress party doing?
21:16What sort of opposition are there?
21:18Now, any protesting in front of parliament is somewhere inside where the general public
21:23cannot join.
21:24Now, here, the problem is neat examination.
21:27Paper leaks have happened multiple times.
21:29And this time it happened from the NTN National Testing Agency.
21:33The biggest question today we ask is who is accountable?
21:36In a democracy, accountability is very important.
21:39Paper leaks happen.
21:40And they don't want Darmendra Pradhan to resign.
21:43I don't understand.
21:43Before 2014, every time we would ask for resignation, we would ask, ah, no, let me tell, let me make
21:50it clear.
21:50We would ask the minister in charge to step down so that they can be a nishpaksha jaanj.
21:55That's what you say.
21:56There can be an investigation.
21:58Yes.
21:59So, here, whenever, whether it is the case of Lakhimpur Keri, where the son of the minister
22:05of state of home was involved, he was still there.
22:08He did not step down.
22:10Because how can there be an impartial investigation?
22:12Whether it was Bijbush and Sharansi, he does not step down.
22:15Whenever you have rail accidents, the rail minister never stepped down.
22:19Before 2014, many rail ministers have resigned whenever there are issues.
22:24Ajay Alok, respond to the point that Dr. Sharma Mohamad makes about lack of accountability
22:29or the demand for accountability.
22:32Where is that accountability?
22:32My simple question to Ajay Alok is why can't he resign?
22:37Why can't he resign?
22:38Can you ask her to reply?
22:39Can you ask her to reply?
22:40Okay.
22:40Fair enough.
22:41Ma'am, you made your point.
22:42Ma'am, you made your point.
22:44I have to widen the scope of this debate.
22:46I want to bring in our other guests.
22:47But go ahead, Dr. Ajay Alok, respond, sir.
22:49First of all, if you have some stains on your shirt, that doesn't mean the other person
22:54is also having stain on your shirt.
22:56So, stop comparing all these things before 2014.
22:58I don't know.
22:59What have you been saying on your shirt?
23:01Who is responsible for the paper leak?
23:05Who is responsible for the paper leak?
23:05Before 2014, the terrorists used to visit prime minister's house.
23:07There used to be what comes in.
23:08Who is responsible for the paper leak?
23:10Before 2014, you used to free terrorists.
23:12Do not compare for 2014 and after 2014, you are not in the opposition.
23:16and that's why he has shown the law.
23:18This is a democracy. I will ask
23:19if the government is accountable
23:21the government is accountable
23:22for the people of this country.
23:23If the government is accountable
23:25the government is accountable
23:26in front of the people of this country
23:27and the accountability has to come
23:29in front of the parliament.
23:31Because they are not accountable
23:32for the people of this country
23:34on the street.
23:35That's why young children
23:36are on the street.
23:37Pure vandalism.
23:38Cheer vandalism.
23:39That's why an absolute reckless
23:42reckless leader of opposition
23:43who does not have a responsibility
23:44who does not care for his own position, who does not care for the dignity of this country.
23:49You can go and sit in front of the Prime Minister's office. Tomorrow if you say you want to go
23:54and sit outside in Trump's house.
23:56What is this? This is a banana country or what? This is a wrong precedent which they are taking out.
24:04And they are encouraging all anti-national elements. They are encouraging all anti-national elements.
24:11Sir, students protesting on the streets. Why are you calling protesting students anti-national elements?
24:19Today, one second. He is telling very clearly Sushma Swaradji, Arun Jaitli are all anti-nationals because they also protested
24:27on the streets.
24:28We allow them to protest on the streets. Today, he is telling on live TV that Sushma Swaradji and Arun
24:33Jaitli are all anti-nationals who are protesting on the streets.
24:36Because he said we can't protest on the streets.
24:38Dr. Ajay Alok wants to respond to you, ma'am.
24:40You have no right to do that. You have no right to beat up children.
24:44You beat up children.
24:46Ample, clear. Ask her to keep quiet. She is trying to change the goalpost very frequently.
24:51Sometime going to Lakhimpur Kheri. Sometime going to Brizbushan Jhar Singh. Sometime don't do it.
24:55I am saying you have protested inside the parliament. What was the point of going to the prime minister's house?
25:02You cannot go there. Tomorrow you go in.
25:05I will protest inside the prime minister's house.
25:08I will protest inside the prime minister's house.
25:11It was very much intentional.
25:12I will protest inside the prime minister's house. What will you do?
25:16Hold on. Hold on.
25:18Dr. Shama Mohamad, how can the congress party protest inside the prime minister's house?
25:24We will protest inside the prime minister's house. What will you do?
25:27What will you do?
25:29We will do it. What will you do?
25:30See?
25:31We will arrest you.
25:32We will protest inside the prime minister's house. What will you do?
25:37Yes.
25:38We will do it.
25:39There has to be some Lakshman Rekha. He is prime minister of India.
25:44He is, you know, prime minister of India.
25:46Prime minister of India is doing nothing.
25:47Protesters can't just enter his house.
25:49I mean, we saw scenes like this in other countries.
25:51I am sure you don't want that here.
25:54Gaurav, why is the prime minister of India's home minister beating up children?
25:58Why was a 12-year-old beaten up yesterday?
26:00Why is one childтАж
26:01The Delhi police said that did not happen, ma'am.
26:03Of course, I am just going by what Delhi police officially in a statement said.
26:06They claimed, they insisted it is rumour-mongering.
26:10Go on, ma'am.
26:19There was a baton and the police is pumping it from behind her.
26:24I have those videos.
26:25Are you saying they are made up?
26:27Ma'am, unless you have verified those videosтАж
26:30Yes, those are verified videos.
26:31You may have seen it.
26:32Those are verified videos.
26:34Dr. Ajay Alok.
26:35You know, we have two good doctors and we hope that there is proper diagnosis and a solution.
26:40So that the ailment can be cured.
26:41Here we just seem to beтАж
26:43Okay, Dr. Alok, you want to respond to that?
26:45Children are being beaten up is Dr. Shama Mohammed's point.
26:48The diagnosis is quite clear.
26:50Shama knows this.
26:51Since 2018-19, since the time Pegasus and before that Rafael came, I diagnosed him that
26:58he is suffering from obsessive-compulsive neurosis.
27:00Now it has gone out of hand.
27:02He desperately needs a psychiatrist.
27:04His two chief ministers accompanied him but left the venue.
27:07Left the venue and said, sir, you can't be here because they understand the gravity
27:11of their position.
27:12He doesn't understand the gravity of his position that he is LOP.
27:16He cannot do this.
27:18Gaurav is generally an argument.
27:20Gaurav, my question isтАж
27:21Dr. Mohamed wants to respond to you.
27:23Dr. Mohamed wants to respond to you.
27:24Go on now.
27:24Gaurav, Gaurav.
27:26The kids, the children are out there.
27:28They have been in Jantar Mantar.
27:29These children are protesting.
27:30Don't change the goalposts.
27:31Why did you beat them up?
27:33Why can't the police just stand with the barricade and not do anything?
27:37They did not attack the police.
27:39The police started beating them up.
27:40It's very clear.
27:41You have no right.
27:43Why are children out there?
27:44Because they are fed up of these paper leaks.
27:45Who is responsible?
27:47Nobody.
27:47Nobody resigns.
27:48You can't continue like this.
27:50We will not allow this.
27:51Dharmendra Pradhan has to resign.
27:53There has to be accountability.
27:55Keir Skramar has resigned in the UK.
27:56Many other presidents and primaries have resigned around the world.
28:00But in this government, nobody resigns.
28:02Dharmendra Pradhan has to resign.
28:04We are not working back.
28:04Give me a moment.
28:05Those are live visuals.
28:06Give me 30 seconds.
28:07I want to go to those live visuals.
28:08They are coming from model town.
28:10That's Rahul Gandhi, leader of opposition.
28:12Inside that bus, he was detained by the Delhi police.
28:16Large number of, you know, the media contingent outside.
28:19There you can see Rahul Gandhi and Congress leaders and Congress members.
28:24Inside the bus, you also see Samajwadi party leaders in these images.
28:30Journalists are trying to get a reaction from Rahul Gandhi.
28:33This is near the Chhatrasal Stadium.
28:37We are told this is where all detainees will be kept before they are released.
29:03Rahul Gandhi continues to insist that their protests will continue.
29:08They are not intimidated by the government.
29:11The armed party is accusing the Congress party of trying to hijack Kaukrut Janta party's protest.
29:18But do keep in mind, Rahul Gandhi is leader of opposition.
29:21The Congress party says they've been carrying out these protests,
29:24including Chhatro ki Goonj in different parts of the country.
29:29Government sources say Rahul Gandhi has created a very dangerous precedent by this protest outside.
29:35Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Seven Lok Kalyan Marg residence.
29:39This is a template for anarchy.
29:42We've seen what happened in our neighborhood.
29:45Dr. Shama Mohammed, you know, when protests and as government sources insist that there are outside forces at play,
29:53when they carry out, when they orchestrate protests, then it leads to anarchy and trouble.
29:59Are we moving in that direction in your view, ma'am?
30:04Gaurav, what are you saying?
30:05This country has a history where many leaders have protested.
30:10Protest is a part, dissent, is a part of democracy.
30:13So, how can you always call these toolkits, you call that anarchy?
30:17I don't get it.
30:18The children are out there.
30:20These students are out there because they are fed up of paper leaks.
30:23I'm a doctor.
30:24I've also done entrance exams.
30:26Now, to write an entrance exam, you prepare so much.
30:28You go and give your best.
30:30Then the paper leaks.
30:31You calculate your marks.
30:32You know, there are nine of them committed suicide.
30:35Because some of them did not want to write.
30:37Some of them wrote and they were worried about it.
30:40So, all these things.
30:42Who is responsible for their debts?
30:44Who is responsible?
30:45Dr. Ajay Alok, that's a fair point Dr. Shama Mohammed raises.
30:50Because there is no resignation.
30:52Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself called paper leaks maha paap.
30:56You know, you're a parent.
30:58She's a parent.
30:58I'm a parent.
30:59Very clearly, we can't have paper leaks.
31:01And not such sensitive paper leaks in our country, sir.
31:05Mr. Gauras Sama.
31:06Who is responsible?
31:06No, no.
31:07Can you tell me one thing Ajay Alok?
31:08Why is Darmendra Prada not resigning?
31:11Why does he not resign?
31:13Ma'am, I've asked him a question.
31:14Let him respond.
31:15Go on, sir.
31:19I think enough of delay in making we had here.
31:23We had paper leak.
31:24The government cancelled the exam within five days.
31:27Re-exam was conducted.
31:28Results are out.
31:29Students are taking admission.
31:30Where was Rahul Nandiji all these days?
31:33How are you doing in Europe and US?
31:34Why do you have to have a re-exam?
31:36Why do you have to have a re-exam?
31:37Why do you have to have a re-exam?
31:38Why do you have to have a re-exam?
31:39We're having re-exam every time.
31:40Just not taking his own responsibility.
31:42Okay.
31:42An absolute irresponsible man asking for accountability.
31:45This is the irony.
31:47An absolute irresponsible person.
31:49The fact does, sir, we have to ensure a paper leak free system so that our children can
31:56have absolute guarantee that once they take their exam, they give their all to take these
32:02exams.
32:02We conduct UPSC in our country.
32:04We know how exams are conducted.
32:06We have to ensure they remain paper free and the strictest possible action as per law
32:11needs to be taken against this paper leak mafia and we'll be tracking that story very,
32:17very closely.
32:17I have a massive flash protest outside the seven Lokalian Marg of Prime Minister Narendra
32:24Modi, his residence by leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi and the top leadership of the Congress
32:29Party.
32:30Joining me on the special broadcast, Dr. Shama Mohammed, national spokesperson of the Congress,
32:34Dr. Ajay Alok, national spokesperson of the BJP.
32:37Aarti Jairat is a senior journalist.
32:39She's covered many protests, I'm sure, unlike one that's just happened outside Lokalian Marg.
32:46Dr. Vikram Singh, former DGP and a security affairs analyst, joins us on this show.
32:51Dr. Shama Mohammed, this is the monsoon session of parliament.
32:56Any discussion should happen on the floor of the House.
32:59Top leaders, leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, all on the streets.
33:03Explain this, ma'am.
33:04You know, Gaurav, two things.
33:08Before 2014, today's topic would have been, you know what?
33:13Police brutality against our children.
33:16That would have been your topic of discussion.
33:18But after 2014, the topic changes.
33:21You can't question the government or the police.
33:24Unfair, unfair criticism.
33:25We question the government.
33:27We question everything that is wrong with the system.
33:30As you watch India today, you see that, Dr. Shama Mohammed.
33:33But you should have put the topic today this.
33:34Because the police brutality on our children, much more.
33:37And number two, number two, today Rahul Gandhi...
33:40You know, permit me to say, permit me to decide what would be the topic.
33:43Today, Rahul Gandhi is sitting on a dharna outside the Prime Minister's house.
33:46That is my debate, Dr. Shama Mohammed.
33:48Yeah.
33:49So, I'm going to say, wait.
33:50Now, you have asked, what is happening?
33:52Now, when Rahul Gandhi is not on the street...
33:59That is what my leader is.
34:01He is saying that I'm out there with the students saying, this is wrong what is happening.
34:07First, peaceful protest should be allowed in this country.
34:10During our time, you remember, Nirbhaya, we allowed the peaceful protests to happen.
34:15They were in Delhi, South Delhi.
34:18Everybody knows where it was in the Ramlila Maidan.
34:21We never stopped.
34:22And that is what democracy is all about in all over the world.
34:25People protest when there are problems.
34:27Now, these are young students protesting, you know, some of them with their parents.
34:32What we saw yesterday, a 12-year-old girl beaten up.
34:36Another child is in the ICU.
34:38You know, I have a 19-year-old son.
34:40Another, you know, another one, a stick, a police was putting a stick up from behind her.
34:46I mean, police brutality, the way they were beating them up, as if they were some thugs, these kids.
34:52Of course, they are upset when there is an issue like this.
34:55And let's understand the last leak in need happened at the NTN National Testing Agency.
35:00That is the most important part of this government where the exams are set.
35:06Now, who is responsible?
35:08In a democracy, the most important thing is accountability.
35:11Okay.
35:12Nobody resigns.
35:13Who is accountable?
35:14Unless you see Keith Stammer has resigned as the prime minister of the UK, because he was responsible for many
35:20things that happened, including the ambassador who he sent to the United States in the Epstein fights.
35:27Look at the way.
35:27That is how everybody is accountable.
35:29Here, Dharmendra Prasad refuses to resign.
35:32The prime minister refuses to ask him to resign.
35:35Okay.
35:36Nobody from the NTA goes.
35:37So, what is happening in this country?
35:38These children, you need to answer to them.
35:41And that is why my leader Rahul Gandhi is out there on the street saying that if you don't listen
35:45to them, then I'm out there going to be with them.
35:48Arrest me.
35:49Put me behind bars.
35:50Okay.
35:51I will not cow down.
35:53Dr. Ajay Alok, respond.
35:54A discussion that should have happened on the floor of the House in the monsoon session.
35:58Parliament not functioning.
36:00That is why protests are happening on the street.
36:02And the big point, Congress party says government does not even permit protests.
36:09Gaurav, right now on your debate, we are talking of democracy and peaceful protest is a right.
36:14Of course, it's a right.
36:15But in a democracy, even if the title of the debate has to be decided by the political parties, then
36:21there is no democracy.
36:22First of all, the very snatching of democracy begins from here, right from the beginning.
36:27Those who have imposed emergency, they are pleading democracy.
36:30This is not democracy.
36:32This is what Rahul Gandhi has done today.
36:34It's vandalism.
36:34It's an act of anarchy.
36:36It's lawlessness.
36:37It's absolute frustration.
36:40It's just a knee-jerk reaction what he has done today.
36:44There have been so many instances.
36:45We have been in opposition for so long.
36:48But there is a decorum of the country.
36:49There is a perception of the country.
36:51There is a perception of the opposition.
36:53You are not discussing it in the parliament for the last two days.
36:56You are disrupting the parliament.
36:57We are saying everything will be discussed.
36:59Please go according to the rules and laws.
37:01You are not failing to count that.
37:02You are just raising slogans, putting play cards in the house, both the houses.
37:06You are not letting the house function.
37:08What happens today?
37:09They all gathered today at Rajatji to greet Khadageji on his birthday.
37:14And then suddenly march towards the prime minister's house.
37:17This is the way leader of opposition behaves.
37:21This is the sense of responsibility of 56 years old.
37:24What kind of security concerns are there?
37:26Even for himself, forget about the prime minister.
37:29What messages and what images it has thrown in the world?
37:34That's a very pertinent point you raised.
37:36The need has been reconducted.
37:37The students have been inducted.
37:39The results are already out.
37:42I mean, what happens to those students today in Kerala?
37:44Where water shells and water canyons are used?
37:48Okay.
37:49So pertinent points are being raised by both sides.
37:52Before I get Dr. Shamaa Mohamad to respond to the points you have raised.
37:55Aarti Jairat, a democratic protest, a flash protest outside the prime minister's residence?
38:01Or is this anarchy?
38:02How do you watch Rahul Gandhi's protest or the Congress Party's protest outside Seven Lok Kalyan Marg?
38:10Gaurav, you did say that I have, you know, been around for a long time.
38:15And so I have seen many, many such protests.
38:18Okay.
38:19In a democracy, protests happen.
38:22This is not anarchy.
38:23And I think that, you know, to describe it as anarchy is a wrong characterization of what democracy is all
38:31about.
38:32Democracy is all about dissent.
38:33It's all about the freedom to speak.
38:35And, you know, as long as they want vandalizing property or beating up people or, you know, engaging in violence,
38:42why not protest?
38:45But, yes, I do agree that Parliament is in session.
38:49And, you know, issues should be discussed on the floor of the House.
38:52But for that, you need the cooperation of the government as well.
38:56Not just the opposition, but the government.
38:59And, you know, given the fact that the monsoon session started with the protest on the roads, I would have
39:05thought that that would be the first topic of discussion in Parliament.
39:09But why are our kids out on the roads protesting?
39:15Why?
39:15And I think that this deserves an answer from those who are in charge, which is the government of the
39:21day.
39:21That what has made, you know, Gaurav, there were eight-year-old kids, ten-year-old kids out on the
39:27streets.
39:28You know, in the evening, we saw the streets were littered with chappals and shoes and, you know, juttis and
39:36things like that.
39:37Why?
39:38Because all those kids have been beaten up and dragged away by the police.
39:42I mean, come on.
39:43Yeah, but why were eight and ten-year-old kids at the protests in the first place?
39:46When you talk about a safe environment for children, why should children be there in the first place is perhaps
39:53a point that may be raised.
39:55Point one, but point two, let me also bring in Dr. Vikram Singh for his opening comments.
39:59Dr. Vikram Singh, as someone who looks at security in India's environment and in the neighbourhood very closely.
40:06A flash protest by the opposition outside the Prime Minister's residence.
40:11BJP spokesperson says that's anarchy.
40:13Congress says it's a right to protest.
40:16How do you look at it?
40:17Right to protest or designated spots to protest, not outside the Prime Minister's residence?
40:25Good evening, Gaurav Ji, and good evening, my esteemed panelists.
40:27I would say that, yes, the right to protest peacefully is a fundamental right.
40:32A fundamental right, but with reasonable restrictions.
40:36Please take adequate precautions and take permission, YD 163 section of the Bharati Nagarik Suraksha Sangeeta, former 144 CRPC.
40:45And the PM's house and the PM residence is just not a picnic spot.
40:49You have to take pains to take prior permission, give the police to have proper bangdo bust.
40:53It cannot be a free-for-all.
40:54And if there is a free-for-all, I would say, if the antecedents there, and I would say to
41:00one learner panelist, that why were the kids there?
41:02Why were the families there?
41:03You know, Mr. Junaid, there is feeding 2,000 people every day at the cost of 8 lakhs to the
41:09tune of 2,40 lakhs a month.
41:11There is much more to it than what's with the eye.
41:15And I shudder to think what happened at the Parliament yesterday, if that could have been replicated at the PM's
41:20house.
41:20It cannot, it's not a laughing matter.
41:22It is not something to be argued upon.
41:24We can certainly debate.
41:26But as a professional police or former police officer and a security person who is in most security,
41:31I would say it is the job of the police to ensure foolproof and failproof security of the VVIP.
41:37You cannot take chances and liberties.
41:39And then one pearl of wisdom from one Neta,
41:42Kranti ki khushbu a rahi hai.
41:45Mudhe ismeh gundagardi ki durgandha rahi hai.
41:48And I'll stop at that.
41:50Okay.
41:50And I'll get the Congress to respond to what you've said.
41:52But before that, Dr. Ajay Alok, you must respond to what Aarti Jairad said.
41:57In a democracy, opposition has the right to protest.
42:00Yes, they should have done it on the floor of the house.
42:02And it's the responsibility of the government to ensure that the house functions take the opposition along.
42:08You had Shashi Tharoor, Congress MP, saying yesterday,
42:11if the government does not permit the opposition to ventilate on the floor of the house,
42:15protests will happen on the street.
42:17In a parliamentary democracy, the opposition has its say.
42:22The government, because it has the numbers, will have its way.
42:24At least let the opposition have their say, sir.
42:28Gaurav, I don't say that you don't have a right to protest.
42:31You can protest.
42:33But ma'am said that there was no vandalism.
42:35What happened yesterday?
42:37118 Delhi police officers are injured.
42:39That's not vandalism.
42:41Many of the cars were torched.
42:43That's not vandalism.
42:44Shops in the Janpath were looted.
42:46That's not vandalism.
42:47What is vandalism then?
42:49What is vandalism?
42:51If the same thing would have been repeated today at the prime minister's house,
42:56who would have been responsible?
42:58I mean, in the name of protest, in the name of democracy, this is nothing but anarchy.
43:03And that too by a party who has ruled this country for 60 long years?
43:08What would have happened if after post Delhi riots, all the Sikhs would have gathered the prime minister's house?
43:15What would have happened when Babri Muslim was living open and all the Hindus would have gathered outside the prime
43:20minister's house?
43:21What would have happened?
43:23Is this the kind of protest?
43:24Is this utter frustration?
43:25Nothing else?
43:26You are not in power because of democracy.
43:29So, learn and respect democracy.
43:31It's no telling anymore.
43:34Dr. Shama Mohammed wants to respond to you.
43:36Dr. Shama Mohammed wants to respond to you.
43:38The BJP alleges that this is planned conspiracy by the Congress party.
43:43It is anarchy.
43:45These are planned instances just to coincide with the parliament session, ma'am.
43:50I want to know, Gaurav, what is not a planned thing?
43:53Any time there is a protest, it is called a planned protest.
43:58When our farmers protested in this country, more than 700 of them died.
44:03They were left at the Delhi border.
44:04They were not allowed to enter.
44:05What did they call them?
44:07Khalistani, urban naqsal.
44:09So, anybody protests in this country, they have a name.
44:13I have never heard of this before 2014.
44:16Like Aarti Ji said, there have been innumerable protests by senior leaders.
44:20I remember Arun Jaitli and Sushma Swarajji protesting on the street with gas cylinders.
44:26Various protests during our time.
44:29Did we stop them?
44:30Because we believe in a democracy.
44:31It is their right to protest.
44:33We did not take them and we did not say, oh, they are at the prime minister's house.
44:37They are going to kill the prime minister.
44:39Just like this police officer was saying, he is saying it is Gundagarti.
44:43I mean, there is a peaceful protest.
44:45And Ajay Alok used the word vandalism and anarchy.
44:48I don't see any vandalism and anarchy where Rahul Gandhi is protesting.
44:52We do not have guns.
44:53We do not have knives.
44:55It is a peaceful protest because the prime minister refuses to take action.
45:00There is no accountability in this country.
45:02The speaker of this country is with the prime minister and the party because you have a
45:07TMC which is broken.
45:08And then you tell part of the members to join a party called Citizens Party of India.
45:13Now, tomorrow you would have a party, DMC for example, or a TDP.
45:18People break up from there.
45:19They join a new party which is made up.
45:21I mean, have you heard of something like this before 2014?
45:24And then they are told to sit in another place.
45:26The election commission is in the hand of the prime minister.
45:28The ED goes knocking on the doors of who the prime minister of India wants.
45:32Now, if the system is broken, if the system is broken, what do you do?
45:37You come out on the street.
45:38And the police officers said about Gundagarti.
45:42I want to know when CM Yogi Aditya threatens openly Muslims.
45:46Threatens openly.
45:48Is that not Gundagarti?
45:50Demolishing a college, demolishing a university.
45:53You can take over the university from the person.
45:55But demolishing 38 of its buildings.
45:58I have never heard of it.
45:59Isn't that Gundagarti?
46:00No, but is that happening as per law?
46:02And if it's illegal, then you must protest in a court of law.
46:05No, no.
46:05Illegal, illegal, speak it over.
46:06But wait a second.
46:07While that's a separate debate.
46:08While that's a separate debate.
46:10While that's a separate debate.
46:12The M.A. Johan University, that is what you are referring to.
46:15Can land be illegally acquired even to build a university?
46:19No, let me tell you.
46:19There are illegal number of buildings, innumerable number of illegal buildings in our country.
46:23And I can give you a list of it.
46:25All right.
46:26Now, when it is, if that particular person has made a mall, a hotel, please go and demolish it.
46:32Because he was earning money through, you know, this.
46:34Yes, but this is when you are educating a system.
46:36Education is something which we all require, which anybody requires.
46:40So, I believe that.
46:42And the other thing...
46:42Even if it's on illegally acquired land.
46:44Fair enough.
46:45A.T. Jarath, you want to respond?
46:47A.T. Jarath, you want to quickly respond?
46:48No, I just want to say that I think we're straying from the topic.
46:51Yes.
46:52Shama, I think we're straying from the topic.
46:55Dr. Shama Mohammed, A.T. Jarath wants to respond to you and Dr. Vikram Singh.
46:58But go on, Dr. A.T. Jarath.
46:59I'm saying that I think we're straying from the topic.
47:02You know, and I don't think we need to go into what Yogi Adityanath is doing in UP.
47:06We're talking about what's happening in Delhi right now.
47:09And I would like to remind Ajay Alloh.
47:12And, you know, I'm surprised that he's talking...
47:15He comes from a party which we have seen on the streets for years and years,
47:21leading demonstrations against price rise, against gasoline hike, against all kinds of things.
47:28We've seen them for years and years and years.
47:30And, you know, now you're saying that this is anarchy.
47:34I mean, your party was, you know, absolutely...
47:38I remember in the 90s, early 90s, your party was out on the streets all the time,
47:45from Madalala Khurana to LK Advani.
47:47And when, you know, when those whole anti-Mundal demonstrations were happening,
47:51there were many BJP leaders who were out there also.
47:54And you are now talking about anarchy.
47:57You know, so I think that, you know, we're really losing sight of what democracy means.
48:03We're so caught up with this whole thing of, you know, law and order and security,
48:10that we are now building so many barricades, you know, between the people and the government.
48:17Okay.
48:17And I think that is what was the spirit of the protest when, you know, your anchor,
48:23your channel, Dean Gaurav, was talking to these kids who were out on the streets
48:27and they were saying, we want accountability.
48:29What do they mean by accountability?
48:31They mean close that gap between us and the government,
48:33which seems to be increasing day by day because everything gets reduced to security.
48:39Okay.
48:40Dr. Ajay Alok wants to respond before I bring Dr. Bikram Singh to keep this.
48:43Democracy needs accountability, Gaurav.
48:44There is no accountability in this country.
48:47Nobody is responding to anything.
48:48Okay.
48:48Dr. Ajay Alok wants to respond.
48:50If you want to see, if you want to see democracy from the leftist vision
48:54and from the spectacle of a leftist or a spectacle of someone who doesn't believe in democracy,
49:01yes, that could be a definition of your democracy.
49:03Ma'am, if you remember, we have, you were on the streets all the time, right?
49:06They're not even from Madhalla, Khurana days, even from Vajpayee days, even from Adwani days.
49:10Give me one instance of my party where we have not taken up permission
49:13and we have done nothing lawful, where our rallies have gone into vandalism,
49:18where we have broken the cars, where we have looted the houses,
49:21what happened yesterday.
49:22Your mum on that, your selectivity choosing today.
49:24Dr. Ajay Alok, I don't think Rahul Gandhi was, you know,
49:28I'm not trying to defend Rahul Gandhi, but was Rahul Gandhi vandalizing a car today?
49:33Was Rahul Gandhi vandalizing a car?
49:37One by one, Dr. Ajay Alok, then Dr. Vikram Singh first.
49:44Yeah, go on, Dr. Ajay Alok.
49:44Do you think, for that matter, any sensible person, you are talking of accountability,
49:50eight to ten years old coming in a rally and indulging in stone pelting,
49:53do you think it's accountable for their parents to make that happen?
49:56I mean, any kind of a logic.
49:58What does a ten-year or twelve-year or eight-year kid have to do with their rally?
50:02Why he or she was there at any point of time?
50:05And Delhi police have given a clarification that they have not done anything.
50:09Why Rahul Gandhi all the way, he'll go to the Prime Minister's house?
50:12That's the only place left for demonstration?
50:14Okay, can I say something?
50:16Can I, can I, can I, can I, can I,
50:19But it's the job of the opposition to make headlines, sir?
50:22It's the job of the opposition, Dr. Ajay Alok, to make headlines.
50:26And if Rahul Gandhi is making headlines by being at 7 LKM,
50:30you know, he's, he's achieved his aim.
50:32But I want to bring in Dr. Vikram Singh into this conversation.
50:34Dr. Vikram Singh, you had raised your hand when Dr. Shamaa Mohamad
50:37was talking about anarchy or responding to allegations of anarchy in Uttar Pradesh.
50:44You want to respond, sir?
50:46Yes, Gauram ji, three quick points to learn in Dr. Shamaa Mohamad's points.
50:49Number one, that the Prime Minister's house is sacrosanct and a sanitized area.
50:53Nobody can take liberties there, point number one.
50:56It is, by no stretch of imagination, is it a peaceful agitation.
51:00And then, whatever be the reason, there is a way of doing it.
51:03Put an application, get the permission from the police, and then by all means.
51:06We don't want permission. We don't want permission.
51:08Then it is an illegal.
51:09Then, Shamaa ji, it is an illegal agitation.
51:11We will not take permission.
51:13We will hit the street without permission.
51:15It is illegal.
51:16Because everything is under them. They control everything.
51:17If we were not commissioned, we will protect.
51:19Be prepared for the consequences.
51:21Be prepared for the consequences then.
51:23Number two.
51:24We have prepared for the consequences.
51:25We are ready to die for this country.
51:27We are ready for it.
51:28Wonderful.
51:29We will protect.
51:30Delhi police commissioner and the Delhi police to investigate and take the hardest possible action as per law against those
51:37who are violating the law of this land.
51:40At the same time, accountability.
51:42I will let that be the key word today.
51:45I want to thank Aarti Chayrat, Dr. Shamaa Muhammad, Dr. Ajay Alok and Dr. Vikram Singh for joining me on
51:51this India First special broadcast.
51:53We need accountability.
51:55We want our exam systems to be absolutely pure and untarnished by that cottage industry called paper leak mafia.
52:04We will be tracking that story very closely.
52:06You know, there of a sudden they are.
52:06For our time and we want to soci├йt├й is over.
52:06For our time and the other forces will create for us.
52:06sha- Teleport.
