00:11Justice Hazlina Hussein affirmed the conviction of a 29-year-old Uy Vinshen,
00:16ruling that the trial court made no error in finding him guilty of rape and extortion.
00:22Uy was sentenced to 10 years in jail for rape, one year for extortion, and two strokes of the cane,
00:28with both prison terms running concurrently.
00:32The court said the teenage victim was a credible witness,
00:35whose testimony was backed by medical evidence from two doctors.
00:39Justice Hazlina added that Uy's blackmail drove the victim to become suicidal
00:44after he demanded RM2,300 from her.
00:48According to the case, Uy met the teenager on a dating app in 2023,
00:53raped her, and took nude photographs to threaten her.
00:56He then blackmailed her by threatening to release the photos online,
01:00even forcing her to provide sexual services to other men to pay him off.
