00:00The hottest team right now going, that is the Boston Red Sox, or at least over the last week,
00:05they've been the hottest team because they haven't lost. They took care of the White Sox in a three
00:09game sweep earlier in the week, Tom, and then Friday and Saturday won the series against the
00:13New York Mets. If this was a normal season in baseball, having the record the Red Sox would
00:19have, you would sort of ask the question, should the Red Sox still be selling? Should they look
00:24toward next year? I don't know how they can do that right now, Tom. The American League is just
00:29so bad. I mean, Houston is feeling like they're in it and their team is terrible. So Boston,
00:36have they put themselves back in it at this point? Because I guess if you really like pull the curtain
00:41behind a little bit with all the pressure on the president of baseball operations, Craig Breslow,
00:46you would assume that he's going to want to go for this, right? Like he's going to be like,
00:50oh, we're good enough. Let's fight. I think that's, that's probably what I think is going to happen.
00:54That's probably what will happen. And, you know, we could go when you're five, six games out of a
00:59wild card approaching the all-star break, you'd say, okay, we're, we're out of here. We have to
01:02be sellers of the deadline coming up in fewer than 30 days, but all of a sudden they're half
01:05game out of the wild card. And because of the dynamic of the AL, which is just so weak, top
01:10to
01:10bottom, fighting for that wild card, we have, you know, a number of teams within three, four games,
01:15the Red Sox are the spots go for it, but ultimately I think he's going to do so in order
01:19to
01:20potentially save his job. When in reality, the best thing for the Red Sox would be to kind of
01:25reset, to trade away a sunny grade or Aldis Chapman, you know, Duran, whoever, whomever might
01:31be, that would be the best actual course. But the fan base, because of how upset they've been,
01:36I'm not sure that's going to come to fruition. They need to reset, but Breslow is never going to
01:40let that happen.
01:41Yeah. I think Houston feels like the same situation with Dana Brown and maybe Houston's
01:46best to take a look and say, we have Correa and Altuve and all these old guys. Should
01:50we reset? But hard to tell that to a GM.
