00:00Hello there. Broadly speaking, the weekend is hot and sunny, but there will be some shifts.
00:06It won't be quite as hot across parts of eastern England in particular, and there's going to be more cloud
00:10across Scotland.
00:11Certainly, it's been quite a cloudy Friday here with outbreaks of rain across northern Scotland.
00:15That rain trickling its way slowly southwards overnight, damp and drizzly to start Saturday then through the central belt.
00:22So the rain could be quite heavy over northeast Scotland through the early hours.
00:26The breeze is also picking up across the south and feeding in some mist and low cloud along the coastal
00:33strip of England.
00:34Elsewhere, though, generally dry with long, clear spells.
00:37It will be a warm night across the south. Temperatures widely in urban areas, staying in the high teens.
00:43A few pockets may have a tropical night. That's where temperatures don't drop below 20 Celsius.
00:47So quite uncomfortable for sleeping here.
00:49Plenty of hot sunshine to come again on Saturday, but start off rather drab, I suspect.
00:55It's across eastern counties of England and certainly starting off fairly damp over eastern Scotland.
01:00Some heavy rain around for a time, but I think it'll ease fairly readily through the morning.
01:05Some of that rain will trickle away from the central belt down into southern Scotland for the afternoon and perhaps
01:10even into the far northeast of England.
01:12The mist and low cloud in the east of England should burn back to the coast, but some beaches might
01:18just stay a little misty and murky throughout.
01:20Further south, further west, plenty of sunshine. A brighter day for the highlands of Scotland.
01:25Sunny spells should come through in Northern Ireland.
01:28The peak of the heat will be in Wales and southwest England.
01:32So that's where we'll see the top temperatures getting again up into the low 30s.
01:3732, 33 possible.
01:38Not as hot across these eastern counties of England, particularly on that east coast with that breeze.
01:43And if it does stay misty, still quite warm, though, in and around the home counties.
01:47It's still likely to reach 30 Celsius here.
01:50To compare those temperatures to average, and you can see, actually, if it does stay misty or where it stays
01:55cloudy in the northeast,
01:57temperatures are going to be below the average, whereas the peak of the heat,
02:00where temperatures are likely to be significantly above average across Wales and southwestern parts of England.
02:07It'll be a balmy summer's evening then for much of the Midlands, Wales and southern England.
02:12But through the night, that breeze continues to strengthen and continues to feed in more mist and low cloud,
02:18potentially making for a duller start to Sunday.
02:21But I think the rain will be petering out over southeastern parts of Scotland,
02:26so most places will start Sunday dry.
02:29Again, pretty warm night with temperatures holding up in the mid or even high teens,
02:33especially so across the south.
02:34So Sunday, again, a notch down temperature-wise across eastern England with a cooling breeze.
02:40Just the chance of some high cloud and then the potential is just the potential for some thundery showers across
02:48parts of the southwest.
02:49Just something to keep an eye on.
02:50It's pretty unlikely at this stage, but we could see some coming in here.
02:55Some welcome rain, of course, for the gardens, that would mean.
02:57But generally, it stays dry.
02:59Sunny skies for northern Ireland, Wales, most of England as well.
03:02Once that early morning mist has cleared away, parts of Scotland could keep that cloud.
03:06The breeze not as significant here, so that cloud may stick around.
03:10But generally, again, it's dry here.
03:11We'll see some bright or sunny spells.
03:13The wind will make a big difference to the feel.
03:16Again, those eastern coastal counties, significantly cooler than they have been.
03:20And not as hot across eastern England in general, but still, we could get into the high 20s.
03:26The peak of the temperatures, parts of the West Midlands,
03:29down to southeast Wales and southwest England, where, again, 31, 32 is likely in a few spots.
03:34Probably a bit warmer in Northern Ireland on Sunday as well.
03:37Again, compare those temperatures to the average,
03:39and you can see that peak in that southwestern quadrant cooler on those eastern coasts.
03:45The very warm weather is going to continue well into next week.
