00:00Ah, look, it was a wintry yarding of cattle.
00:02There was more cattle than what was drawn for.
00:04I suppose there'd be 1,500 or 1,600 cattle here today.
00:07And there's certainly a wintry yarding.
00:09The cattle are certainly lighter.
00:11There's a few more unweaned cattle.
00:13And probably quality driven, it was just on that alone that did look like we felt our limitations a little
00:20bit today.
00:21A massive frost in East Gippsland today, and there's been a few frost this week.
00:24So things are starting to tighten up and slow down a bit as we head into deeper into winter.
00:28It was lots of those lighter black calves there, which they were heavily sought after today.
00:33I think it's a trend that's happening across the eastern seaboard.
00:35I think an easy to buy, little black steers and feeder cattle at 500 kilos are making close to $6.
00:42And feeders from four to five certainly are.
00:45So I think if those cattle are pretty good buying, if they stay the same sense of kilo.
00:49And that trend's been very evident here today.
00:51Sadly enough, a young Tom Ford died a local, I suppose you'd call him a sale boy, or a Kilmaney
00:57boy.
00:58He passed away, lost his battle with cancer after a couple of years.
01:02He was a real Trojan.
01:03He was a fighter and he was a scrapper and he toughed it out right to the end.
01:07Sadly enough, he passed away and condolences to his family, Emily.
01:13And he leaves behind a little son too, named Johnny, I think it is Johnny Ford.
01:17So it is terribly sad and the agents had a minute's silence for Tom.
01:22Come on, let's go.
