Greens move bill for total Limestone Coast fracking ban

Greens MLC Melanie Selwood on why she's introducing a bill for a total and permanent ban on fracking in the Limestone Coast.

00:00So this week the Greens will be introducing a bill in Parliament for a permanent ban of fracking on the

00:05limestone coast.

00:06This comes after the community have called for us for a permanent ban.

00:11The moratorium, which was hard fought nearly ten years ago, is coming to an end in two years' time.

00:18And the community shouldn't have to live with this uncertainty about whether the moratorium is going to be lifted or

00:24continued on.

00:24So it's time for the Parliament to make a decision about whether we should have a permanent ban in the

00:29South East and the Greens believe that it should.

00:31So we will be introducing that bill this week.
