Nutrien South Gippsland Livestock manager Brian McCormack said the market was fully firm.
Transcript
00:0034 or 500 head of cattle here today. Very good quantity yarding. First run of cattle,
00:05steers and heifers. It's absolutely good. Once again, I'd say the market's fully firm,
00:09right across the board. Maybe some of these heifers they're selling now might be a fraction
00:13nearer. Just had a little bit more competition on them. Not quite as many of them, but they're
00:1810 to 12 to 15 rather than 20s. Marginally dearer again at the moment, so it's all kicking in the
00:24right way. Binding, they probably don't want the steers to get much dearer, but with that,
00:29yeah, heifers have sort of just stepped up that next little mark. A lot of them in that sort of
00:33530,
00:34540s in a row. Probably 70 odd percent, could even be more. They're going back out to feedlots,
00:39all backgrounding for feedlots.
