00:00Is it not? Like a fairytale?
00:07Wow, this joint is awesome.
00:20How did we deal with negative comments on a recent video of ours?
00:26Do you want to try? Yeah.
00:28This one?
00:30Like getting our grab driver to fly the drone for the first time, which is pretty cool. I think he
00:34really liked it.
00:42The price of entry for creating content and putting yourself out there is criticism.
00:48Being a nomad is not a vacation. It's freedom, but it's also discipline.
00:52It's an exchange of security for enhanced experiences.
00:56It's a way of life.
00:57When times are getting crazy, and everything seems hazy, is there some place for safety I could go?
01:08Run away, run away, run away, run away into your escape.
01:14Run away, run away, run away, you're never too far to run.
01:20Run away, run away, run away into your escape.
01:25Run away, run away, run away.
01:28Run away, run away, run away.
01:32Run away, run away, run away.
01:35Ah, ah, ah, ah
02:08Thank you
02:09Thank you
02:10Thank you
02:15And during your stay with us
02:16We will have one Bacler
02:18This will be everything you're doing in the state here
02:40Alright, we've been escorted to the room by the butler.
02:43We've got our own butler for the next three days.
02:47Which is pretty cool.
02:50Ready to go?
02:51Yes, thank you.
03:05It's okay.
03:21It's okay.
03:37Wow, this joint is awesome.
03:40Lloyd, are you already eating?
03:44Lloyd's already cracked into the snacks here.
03:46We brought a bunch and we ate them along the way.
03:49Oh, you want one?
03:55Yep.
03:58This is awesome.
03:59The jacuzzi looks so good and it looks really warm.
04:02And it's like, it's been raining like the whole way here.
04:05And it's just sort of lit up at the moment but they said that it pretty much rains every afternoon
04:11and then it's sunny in the mornings mostly.
04:15All you can hear is roosters and running water and this pool is incredible.
04:22It's got a gym here.
04:23They've got yoga, which I'm definitely going to hit up.
04:28Oh my goodness.
04:28They've got a tennis court, they've got horse stables, which I had no idea about.
04:34This place is incredible.
04:35I can't wait to explore a bit more.
04:58I can't wait to explore a bit more.
05:26Okay, we've pretty much been in the jacuzzi since we arrived.
05:30We've had some food and now we're going to head up for some tea.
05:35Which usually Lloyd and I aren't really stoked on afternoon teas but I think since becoming
05:39parents now we're like, we're big on the tea.
05:43We're big on the afternoon tea.
05:45I'm actually really excited for it.
05:46Just to see what the tea is here.
05:48Let's see if it's like the three tier one that we're talking or are we talking just cakes.
05:53I don't know.
05:54We'll see what happens.
05:55What do you think, Laila?
05:56Are you ready for tea?
05:57Let's go see what they got.
06:02So, today for the afternoon tea, right?
06:04Yes.
06:09Ready?
06:10Yes.
06:13Come to the jungle.
06:15The jungle, yeah.
06:19Our concept is nature, culture and sustainable.
06:25And it's a coffee plantation, right?
06:27Yes.
06:28It's a coffee plantation.
06:29That's the nature one.
06:30Yeah.
06:31But also sustainable because we use all from our organic compost.
06:37So, we have like horses, goats, and chicken that we took for the compost.
06:44Oh, cool.
06:45Yeah.
06:46And also we try to use eco like energy, green energy.
06:51Green.
06:51Green.
06:52That's like a solar panel but not a lot, yeah?
06:56Yeah.
06:57We still do in the process.
06:58Okay.
06:59Terima kasih.
07:00Terima kasih.
07:01Could you find the afternoon tea?
07:04Uh, yeah.
07:05That's just the first.
07:07Great.
07:07Any table?
07:09Also, would you like to reserve the table for tonight?
07:12Um, yeah.
07:13We might take room service tonight.
07:28It smells so good in here.
07:29It's sort of like spicy.
07:31There's like fresh, like they've got some fresh spices and stuff out.
07:35It smells unreal.
07:39Sure, is there any, uh...
07:42No.
07:42No.
07:46No.
07:48No.
07:59No.
08:02No.
08:29Alright guys, just gonna take a real quick break from the vlog because a ton of you
08:33send us messages and DMs asking us how we managed to travel so light, especially with a baby.
08:39And the honest answer is these two Level 8 Roadrunner suitcases. We've been using these
08:45Level 8 suitcases for almost three years now and they've survived everything from plane journeys,
08:51trains, buses, tuk-tuks, ferries. They're pretty much indestructible. But I'd say the thing we
08:57love most about these suitcases is how easy it is to keep everything organized. They've got this
09:02little compartment in the front here which you can put your laptop and all your accessories in and
09:06because it's a hard shell you don't have to worry about it breaking or anything when you're boarding
09:11a plane or you're chucking it in the overhead locker. Everything is kept there safe and sound
09:15and separated. And they're also big enough that we can fit pretty much everything we need for like a
09:21week or even a two week long trip. I managed to put all of our filming equipment and our tech
09:26gear
09:26plus all my stuff in one of our bags. And then Mandy puts all of hers and Lila's stuff in
09:32the other
09:32one and we're pretty good with that. Also a really good feature is that they're waterproof because if
09:37you're traveling around Southeast Asia you would know you definitely can get caught in the rain.
09:41So if you're looking to level up your luggage or even simplify your travel, check out Level 8.
09:47We'll leave a link down below in the description. Just don't forget to use code LM10
09:52at check out and you're going to get 10% off.
10:13Alright so we're here in Munduk. If you've never been to Munduk, it is a really unique cool place to
10:21visit.
10:21if you're coming to Bali. I know there's a lot of people who have traveled all around Bali and they
10:27understand how diverse it is. But I think a lot of people coming to Bali think of like when they're
10:33coming they just think of Canggu, Kuda, maybe Ubud, Uluwatu. You think of like resorts and day clubs,
10:43fancy restaurants, things like that. Munduk's very unique because it's up in the north of Bali.
10:49It's about two hours from the coast. So two hours from like Canggu where we're staying.
10:54And it's up in the mountains and it's relatively cold for Bali. It's about 16 or 17 degrees right now,
11:01first thing in the morning. We have a fireplace here in our villa that we're staying at.
11:08And you can just see the clouds lifting over the mountains. It's pretty much,
11:14it is monsoon season now so it rains pretty much every afternoon here. The mornings are actually
11:22pretty good. Like you can see the blue sky right now. So this morning the goal is to go and
11:29make
11:29the most of the good weather. It's very local here. Like as you drive around you won't see any like
11:35western style cafes or restaurants or you know all the stuff you see in like Canggu and Uluwatu and Ubud
11:43and stuff.
11:44Everything is very local. There's just Wurrungs everywhere and a couple of hotels and that's pretty much it.
11:49There's epic, epic waterfalls here in Mundur.
11:54Since we were young, chased by the sun, feeling the tide rise, sometimes I want to go back.
12:13Just wanted you to know, just wanted you to know, just wanted you to know that.
12:49Where we're staying is a coffee plantation. So coffee is actually a pretty big industry here in Bali as you
12:57might know.
12:57There's the Bali farmhouse which we're going to be visiting which I had no idea even existed.
13:04It doesn't feel like you're in a tropical island. It feels like you're just in a regular
13:09farm and it's not hot. Tonight is also full moon which in Bali, because they are Hindu, is quite a
13:17big deal. They do pretty big celebrations. They're having a special barbecue here at the resort
13:23for the full moon which is going to be epic. I've noticed that pretty much every country we travel to
13:29celebrates the full moon. It feels like something that's been stripped away from Western culture.
13:36Like when we're in Sri Lanka, the full moon was a massive deal being a Buddhist country. But
13:42like pretty much everywhere we go, like Thailand the same. Even in Mexico they celebrate the full moon.
13:48It feels like for whatever reason, in Australian culture and Canadian and American and whatever,
13:56European, we don't really acknowledge it. And I don't know, I think maybe we're missing out on
14:01something because, not to sound like woo-woo or anything, but I have noticed if you don't think that
14:08the moon and the sun give us a certain type of energy then I think you're really like missing out
14:16on something because there is something there. I've noticed energy changes depending on which
14:21part of the month it is and like the full moon and the tides and the weather and the seasons,
14:28like
14:29energy changes all the time. And I think we kind of ignore that in Western society these days for
14:36whatever reason. So we're pretty pumped for tonight. I'm going to go check out the the barbecue for the full
14:42moon.
15:08Let's go check out the video.
15:15Let's go.
15:24Let's go.
15:27Let's go.
15:36I don't know.
16:04Wow, this is pretty cool.
16:07Honestly, they've got like a horse stable over here.
16:10I just brought Lila up to this playground, which is really nice.
16:15And the weather's very mild, like maybe 18 degrees.
16:20Sun's out, so Mandy's doing some yoga.
16:23Me and Mandy are going to meet up for breakfast after this.
16:25But, yeah, this is a really cool place.
16:31Okay, Lila's preoccupied with this awesome playground.
16:37Hopefully you can hear me over these chickens in the background.
16:39But I just wanted to touch on something that came up yesterday.
16:42Because I put a question box up on our Instagram stories.
16:46And somebody asked me, how did we deal with negative comments on a recent video of ours?
16:54And I gave a straightforward answer.
16:58And I'm going to give the same answer here.
17:00Because this comes up a lot.
17:03The price of entry for creating content and putting yourself out there is criticism.
17:12You're always going to get people criticizing something you do.
17:17Whether it's a family member or a friend.
17:20Or if you're putting yourself out there on YouTube or Instagram, for instance, to a wider audience, you are going
17:26to get some criticism.
17:27And if you aren't willing to accept that, then you can't play the game.
17:32That's the first point.
17:33And the second point is we try to provide value with every video that we put out.
17:38So whether that's sharing a place that we think is great for families or digital nomads.
17:45Or it could be our thoughts and opinions.
17:48Or where to go, where not to go, what to do.
17:52What we think is valuable from our honest perspective is what gets on these videos.
18:01And sometimes that doesn't land with everybody.
18:04And sometimes, yeah, it provides value to 80% of people and the other 20% think it's rubbish.
18:13But the truth is, when you're creating anything, and this goes for video, music, art, if you're writing a book,
18:20if you're building a house, whatever it is you're doing,
18:23you can't be captured by the people you're doing it for.
18:27You can't be captured by your audience.
18:28Because if you go into it thinking this is what they're going to like or this is what people want
18:34to see,
18:34you're not a mind reader.
18:35You never know what people actually like and what they want to see.
18:38So the only way to be authentic and to share something that people hopefully will like is to share what
18:45you like or to share your own opinion.
18:47So we share what we think is valuable and what is true to us and what is honest to us.
18:53And some people aren't going to see it the same way.
18:57And some videos, most of the people won't even agree with us.
19:01And then some videos, everyone will agree with us.
19:04It's just, it's not up to us to decide what people will like or not.
19:08If you're always trying to make something to get people's validation or to get views or to get clicks or
19:15whatever it is,
19:16you're going to fail because you don't live in other people's heads.
19:20You don't know what other people want or like.
19:22So the only way to create something meaningful is to create something that is coming from yourself, that's true to
19:30yourself.
19:30This is something that gets like brought up a lot and we get a lot of like comments and DMs
19:36on people like 95% of the feedback we get on our content is really positive.
19:43We get people messaging and commenting saying like, thanks for, you know, sharing this information.
19:49But there is like a percentage of negativity and people questioning like every move we make.
19:56And that's fine.
19:58Like that's completely fine.
19:59It took a while, but we are totally happy accepting that.
20:03So hopefully if you're here watching this video, it's because there's some value in it to you.
20:08And hopefully you can keep watching more of our content and subscribe to our channel if you resonate with the
20:14way we're living our life,
20:16which we know is quite different to most people.
20:23I don't know what it is about paddle in Bali, but it is a massive sport.
20:27Literally everywhere there is a paddle court, even here, they're building a brand new paddle court.
20:34I'd never played it before until we were in Tulum actually.
20:39It must just be like something that's taken off over the last couple of years because honestly, never even heard
20:45of it until about two years ago.
20:57Not a bad breakfast for you, eh?
20:59It's beautiful.
21:01Eh, Lala?
21:03It's so nice and there's nice breeze up here.
21:05The weather's just incredible.
21:07I'm loving it.
21:08Oh.
21:10Yeah, it's nice being not, it's nice not sweating your ass off for a couple of days, eh?
21:17I want my boat across the boat that you live inside of me.
21:23I'll cut the pools to keep you closer from the light.
21:28I'll barge right through your doorway in spite of what you told me.
21:35It's okay.
21:37Do you want to try?
21:38Yeah.
21:39This one?
21:41Left?
21:42Left, left, left, up, and double.
21:44forward, backward, and up and down.
22:15Keep you safe, you're trying to keep you safe.
22:20You brought up your window panes and cover every layer of light.
22:27I'll roll my boat across the moat that you live inside of.
22:33I'll cut the balls to keep you close out from the light.
22:38I'll barge right through your doorway in spite of what you told me.
22:51It's getting our grab driver to fly the drone for the first time, which is pretty cool.
22:55I think he really liked it.
23:14I'll roll my boat across the moat that you live inside of.
23:20I'll cut the balls to keep you close out from the light.
23:26Okay, we are here at the Bali Farmhouse, which is just about 15-20 minutes from the resort.
23:35They've got apparently alpacas and ponies and all different types of farm animals.
23:42I think it's a really cool, kid-friendly activity for us to do.
23:45We're going to check it out for a couple of hours.
23:50So as well as your entry ticket, you can purchase animal feeding for all different types of animals.
23:56They've got ostrich, check goat, rabbit, guinea pig, shetland pony, alpaca, donkey.
24:06What do you reckon?
24:07I want to walk an alpaca really bad.
24:09You want to walk it?
24:10Yeah.
24:11I'm pretty keen for the donkey, honestly.
24:18This is so cool.
24:19It's like pine trees everywhere and immaculately kept grass and gardens and everything.
24:26There's an absolutely enormous playground here and a train that runs around the whole place.
24:32So we got entry tickets and we got tickets to feed alpacas, the donkeys, rabbits and guinea
24:42pigs, and we've got a train ride.
24:44And we're going to get lunch here as well.
24:46So I figured we're here now.
24:47The weather's good.
24:48We might as well spend an hour or two here before we go back to the resort.
24:57How nice are these trees?
24:59Are they fake?
24:59This is so nice.
25:00Are they real?
25:02They're real.
25:06It's like a fairytale.
25:10Is it not like a fairytale?
25:12Yeah.
25:12Isn't it amazing?
25:13Oh, look at the train.
25:18I see the train go by.
25:20We're going to get on it after.
25:26They are free.
25:28Sorry ma' низ!
25:31Do you like to go there?
25:31Ready, let's go...
25:48Array, which is fine for me!
25:49They've also really included eating rasa sisters from the area in the정을 witness
25:52Just over and over
25:55I want you to go for the time I'm still amazing
25:59You're just going to cry when you're alone and shaking
26:02Turn me up and you're gonna lie
26:07You're always with your girl
26:10You're gonna lie
26:18With your girl
26:26I'll wake up and I'm still crying
26:29I'm still crying
26:30There you go
26:33Hey, boy
26:34Bye, boy
26:42You're all right
26:43Bye, boy
26:46Bye
27:00I'll help you find your peace of mind
27:02You don't always have to climb
27:04You can just stay under covers
27:08Leave the old world behind
27:10When everybody's going blind
27:12Baby, you don't have to suffer
27:16How won't you go for the times now, baby?
27:21Can't you feel it, really?
27:22I'm going to shake it
27:24Tell me how do you have it now?
27:28You always make it go out of it
28:00What the hell was that?
28:03That was terrifying
28:06Boy, that donkey was just feeding
28:09Flipped out on these other two women feeding it
28:14Was he not happy?
28:16I don't know, that seemed like defensive or something, kind of
28:20What was that, Lila?
28:22All right, well that was really cool
28:23That exceeded our expectations, honestly
28:26If you're coming to Munduk
28:28Or even like Lavina
28:30Anywhere really in the northern part of Bali
28:32Highly recommend coming out to the Bali farmhouse
28:36The food was incredible
28:39Wasn't expecting there to be such great food
28:41And everything's pristine and brand new
28:43It's not too expensive
28:44So especially if you're with a family
28:45Or if you're with kids, I mean
28:48Come and check it out
28:49We're going to go back to the resort
28:51Because it looks like it's going to start raining pretty soon
28:54We'll probably just light a fire
28:58And get cosy
28:59And chill out before the barbecue tonight
29:02For the full moon
29:43It's raining outside, it's cold
29:45We've got the fire going
29:48We've got room service here
29:52Not bad, eh?
29:53This is the coziest server I've ever been
29:56Honestly, it doesn't even feel like we're in Bali
29:59I think we needed this
30:00Yeah
30:00After a couple of months in like
30:02Tropical weather
30:04It's nice to just have a bit of a change
30:37If I'm not mistaken that you will join with us to our barbecue, right?
30:41Yes, yes, yes
30:42So the chef is still prepared
30:44Okay
31:10It's very dark here
31:11Okay, so we just started learning that it's actually tradition to do barbecue on the full moon
31:19Which Floyd and I really like
31:20I think it's good to spend time outside in the moonlight
31:25It's called Pernama, I think I'm pronouncing that correctly
31:29Pernama barbecue for full moon
31:33And you're meant to have all your family and friends with you
31:35Somewhere along the line, that was probably tradition
31:39Like everywhere
31:40Yeah
31:41And we just lost it
31:42Yeah
31:43I think a lot of those things
31:46Lost and lost
31:47Yeah
31:48Yeah
31:48I mean like
31:50There's a reason in Australia and America and stuff on like holidays we do grills or barbecues
31:56I also find it interesting that crime rate actually goes up on full moons
32:03and people might think that it's just like woo woo crazy stuff but like it's real
32:09Full moon stuff is real, full moon stuff is real and tracking the moon should be more regular in our
32:16society, I think
32:19Morning
32:20Morning
32:22Oh, so you wake up so early
32:23Yeah
32:24Yeah
32:25Usually it's 5am
32:27Same
32:27Yeah
32:29My son also was 5-4
32:31Yeah
32:37This is our first floating breakfast, we've actually never done this before and this is like a Bali novelty
32:43I feel like if you come to Bali, it's like if you haven't done a floating breakfast, what are you
32:47doing?
32:47And we have never done it
32:49So I'm really excited right now
32:50The food looks so good
32:52Thank you so much
32:53Do you need a salt and pepper?
32:55I think we still have some inside
32:57Yeah
32:57Thank you
32:58Thank you
33:14So where are you?
33:16So where are you?
33:39So I've actually been seeing a bit of a theme on YouTube at the moment that places like Vegas and
33:46Berlin that are like known
33:48Party destinations are not getting much tourism at the moment because partying is kind of dying
33:54Apparently Gen Z is partying less than any other generation
33:59They're smoking less and they're drinking less
34:01And the number one thing that they look for when they are going on a holiday is nature is the
34:06number one thing that they search for
34:07So places like this are popping up a lot more frequently than nightclubs
34:13And anything like that that involves partying
34:16Which I actually find really interesting because that just sort of seems like it's the end of an era
34:20And like nature and wellness holidays are like where it's at now
34:23So this place like it feels it feels pretty full at the moment
34:27Like there is I would say they're almost fully booked if not fully booked
34:32But it doesn't feel like overly crowded or anything like that
34:35It's still very private
34:36Really interesting change of times and it's not like all older couples or families either
34:40Like it's a lot of young people in my yoga class was all young women with me
34:45Um, yeah change of times things are shifting a little bit people are wanting to spend more time in nature
34:51and
34:52Not really caring so much about the party scene anymore, which is really interesting
35:04All right, we're checking out
35:06Um, they gave us this little gift breakfast coffee
35:12Which is awesome I need some new coffee
35:14Some good quality coffee not just that instant crap at the supermarket
35:19Uh, we're heading back to Canggu now
35:21It's about a two hour drive
35:22It's probably going to be raining the whole way back
35:26And we're probably going to be sleeping because we're tired
35:28Can't recommend this resort and Munduk in general enough
35:32Guys, if you want to get off the beaten path
35:34Uh, and you want to get up in the mountains in nature
35:38Um, come check out Munduk
35:41We'll leave the link to the resort down below
35:44Uh, in the description and in the pinned comment
35:47And, um, we'll see you next week for our next video
35:49Thanks for watching

36:16Tea and scrumpets

36:24Um, oh, it's getting very dark in here
36:27Whoa, I'm actually scared
36:29They're huge
36:46This is scary, I don't like this
36:48This is scary, I don't like this
