00:07So we actually get a lot of people asking us, is it safe to travel to Bali with a baby?
00:27I definitely would be lying if I didn't say that this has been challenging.
00:43Being a nomad is not a vacation. It's freedom, but it's also discipline. It's an exchange of security for enhanced
00:50experiences. It's a way of life.
01:13It's a way of life.
01:15Run away, run away, run away.
01:18You're a escape.
01:21Run away, run away, run away.
01:24Run away, run away, run away.
01:30Ah...
01:35Ah...
01:43Darling, I know it's hard to let go
01:49Soon I will hold you again
01:58Longer days when I'm away
02:03But we'll both pretend to be bold
02:11Darling, I've never been
02:22Once you brought my stomach in knots
02:29I'm getting close enough in any way
02:31I'm getting close-legged
02:33Even leaning against a wall, that's better
02:40Sometimes life leads us back to places our hearts never really let
02:46We came back to Bali
02:47Not just for the beaches or the beauty
02:50Though there's plenty of both
02:53But because it feels like home
02:56There's a rhythm here
02:57A slowness that lets you breathe deeper
03:01And live a little softer
03:04And now with our daughter by our side
03:06We wanted her to feel this too
03:10To wake up to the sun filtering through the palms
03:12To dance barefoot in the rain
03:15To see the world not just in snapshots
03:18But in spirit
03:20This time, it's not just our journey
03:23It's hers too
03:25And we're so grateful to share this little piece of magic
03:29With her
03:31And with you
03:38To be continued...
04:01We will travel many miles
04:08Will we ever sing all together?
04:15When you take out the strings get louder
04:22All I hear is your hand in my heart
04:30All I hear is your hand in my heart
04:37Will we ever sing all together?
04:44All I hear is your hand in my heart
04:48All I hear is your hand in my heart
05:03All I hear is your hand in my heart
05:04All I hear is your hand in my heart
05:19All I hear is your hand in my heart
05:19All I hear is your hand in my heart
05:20All I hear is your hand in my heart
05:21All I hear is your hand in my heart
05:22All I hear is your hand in my heart
05:23All I hear is your hand in my heart
05:26All I hear is your hand in my heart
05:46so we actually get a lot of people asking us mostly in our Instagram DMs is it safe to travel
05:52to Bali with a baby and the honest answer is yeah it is uh I think it's safe to travel
06:00just about
06:01anywhere with the kid as long as you take the right precautions I mean there's things that can
06:07go wrong in pretty much every country and I think people get a bit worried when they think about like
06:13the stomach infections you can get in Bali but if you take the right precautions it is a safe place
06:18for kids and the locals especially look out for children a lot more here I've noticed than what
06:25they did back home if you're worried about the health side of things then you can get travel
06:31insurance that covers your baby as well so we use safety wing nomad essential which is 57 us dollars
06:39per month each for me and Mandy and Lila is added to that absolutely free and she's covered for
06:46everything and the reason we use safety wing nomad essential particularly for us is that it suits
06:51our lifestyle perfectly because we can take it from country to country it's a monthly plan that
06:57you can cancel at any time it's kind of like having Netflix you're not locked into any long-term plan
07:02we sort of came to Bali on a last-minute decision and we're still covered it doesn't matter but if
07:08you're looking for something with slightly more benefits then nomad insurance complete also adds
07:14maternity care eye exams and wellness benefits and it also includes one free child under 10
07:21with an insured parent if you're looking for a complete health insurance then I would go with
07:27safe doing nomad complete or if you're just looking for a travel insurance plan that also has health
07:33benefits and you want your child covered and you want to make sure that your child who's traveling with
07:38you is covered then go with safe doing nomad essential but either way if you want to check them out
07:43click the link we'll leave it down below in the description and in the comment section and you
07:48can check out safety wing for yourself we've been using them since the day we left australia which is
07:53almost four years ago now

14:21Bye.
14:27Bye.
15:03I'll see you next time.
15:22We're back at our favourite brekkie spot in Canggu Canteen, we thought it was gone.
15:28There's all these vines and plants are thrown over the signage so we couldn't see it when
15:34we drove past.
15:35We just drove past looking for somebody to have breakfast and it's still here.
15:39It's an awesome place, we love it.
15:43We love it.
15:44We love it.
15:59We love it.
16:58Okay, so I definitely would be lying if I didn't say that this has been challenging, this change, especially the
17:07time difference.
17:09Coming from Mexico to here was a huge change and it's taken weeks for us to almost get back to
17:16normal.
17:17When we first got here, we were staying in a hotel.
17:20It was kind of actually like a service department.
17:22We'd stayed there before, so we kind of knew what to expect.
17:25We chose it because it had a kitchenette, so we thought that would make things easier,
17:28but it was just like a hotel room, basically, with a kitchenette.
17:32And it was super nice, but very hard for sleep.
17:37All of our sleep was off, and when Lila was awake, we were all awake.
17:42So Lloyd and I were pretty much not sleeping at all.
17:45So sleep has been like the main priority and the goal since we've now moved into a villa in a
17:52more relaxed area of Canggu.
17:55But there is a lot of construction around.
17:57I'm sure you can hear it.
17:59Hey!
18:02So it's definitely something to keep in mind.
18:05If you're planning on coming here, if you're like looking for villas or Airbnbs, that type of thing,
18:11I do suggest asking if there's nearby construction if you have kids.
18:15Luckily, we can't hear it too bad when the doors are closed in our villa,
18:20but you can hear it like we are now out of the pool.
18:24Definitely something to keep in mind because there's construction everywhere here,
18:28everywhere there's buildings, new villas.
18:30Yeah, I did just want to share like...
18:35The lifestyle of being a digital nomad family definitely can seem very glamorous,
18:39and it is.
18:41It's great.
18:41I feel so fortunate that we get to see the world and experience it with our daughter,
18:46but it is something to keep in mind.
18:48There are challenges, and there is no life that doesn't have hard times or problems and things,
18:56and I think it's really easy to compare our lives to others online
19:00and assume that their way of living is easier or better,
19:04and that's not always the case because we're not seeing the hard days,
19:07and nobody's sort of sharing the harder parts most of the time,
19:12but I do like to try and be as transparent as possible
19:15so you know what you're getting yourself into.
19:17That being said, the Balinese people have been absolutely incredible with Laila.
19:23We actually have our first nanny that we're going to try out this week coming over,
19:28which I'm super excited about, and okay, rocks don't go in the pool.
19:33They just shuffle you over here a little bit.
19:36Yeah.
19:37We're going to be sharing what our costs of, you know, like nanny and rent and that sort of thing,
19:43the scooter, we're going to be putting that together like an updated version,
19:47more for families, so you can have a better idea maybe to see if this is in your budget
19:52or somewhere that you want to come if you are a nomad family
19:55or just wanting to travel for an extended period of time.
19:58Hey, honey.
20:02Daddy.
20:05Yeah.
20:13Daddy's here.
20:15Hey.
20:21Daddy.
20:22Daddy.
20:23Daddy.
20:25Daddy.
20:26Daddy.
20:27How many rocks are you going to get there?
21:09so one of the things that i've found that makes nomad life a lot easier is definitely cooking
21:15it can be a bit challenging sometimes because i kind of have like my go-to things that i cook
21:19for my family and a lot of the times the airbnbs are the villas that we've stayed in like they're
21:25quite limited with what utensils and things they have available so i've had to get more creative
21:31i did find myself getting into a bit of a pattern of being like oh i can't cook this or
21:35i can't cook
21:36that and then just like ordering in but i've started challenging myself more of like what
21:42can i do what can i cook what do i have available to me what is in here and it's
21:48um
21:49kind of changed my perspective on things rather than looking at what limitations i have looking
21:54at what i actually have available to me and um it's been a perception changer just in my life in
22:00general and i kind of i think i needed that wake up call a little bit i think it's really
22:04easy to fall
22:05into you know a pattern of like cooking the same things all the time if you're you know and going
22:11to the same restaurants and sort of doing the same stuff all the time when you live in the same
22:16place
22:16and when you live this way that's not really an option you've got to be you know adaptable more
22:22adaptable since becoming a mother that's been increasingly more challenging but it's made me
22:28better i think and um i've had a few days of like feeling sorry for myself and like thinking this
22:34is
22:34really hard and wondering you know why we're doing this sometimes i know that i can see in lila and
22:41how
22:41much she's developed and how happy she is and and how she's doing that i i can see that this
22:47is um
22:48you know maybe just god's plan and what god wants for her and for our family
23:02okay i know we'll probably have a lot of people in the comments saying it's so much cheaper to go
23:05out and eat why would you cook when you're in bali um which is true but going out to eat
23:14for every meal
23:16one takes a lot of time it can be exhausting it can be it can be a full-time job
23:21just like looking
23:21for somewhere to go eat for three meals a day even or even two meals a day
23:28but it is also a way that like makes us feel more at home and um and healthier and just
23:36yeah
23:37i just noticed my family's a lot happier when i cook for them so um even though it groceries are
23:44i do
23:44find them a little bit expensive it's worth it
24:06so something that really helps my family feel more at home doing this digital nomad life is unpacking
24:13every time that we move into a new place may sound annoying and like what's the point if you're just
24:19going to move on but it really makes a difference for feeling settled and at home in this lifestyle
24:24you do feel a little bit unsettled and you know because you don't have a actual home that is yours
24:32so treating every home that you come into like it is your own that's something that i try to do
24:37it's
24:38very challenging um at times you know you you do long to just have your own place in your own
24:45your and the space that you do come back to so i this is one of the tricks that helped
24:51me feel like
24:52i am more settled and not just living out of a bag or a suitcase so i always try to
24:58use
24:59and utilize whatever storage there is available something to keep in mind in bali especially for
25:05someone with kids because this is kind of annoying is the open storage i found that a lot of places
25:11don't have closed storage and for me i find closed things with doors and stuff make everything feel
25:19way cleaner so airbnb owners if you're watching take note um but so a lot of places just have like
25:25the open storage like this which i don't love because it still feels messy to me because i can like
25:30see everything but i'm still just doing the best i can with what's available to me and um that's that's
25:38we're not going anywhere
25:52to keep the fire burning when you heard me the way that you do
26:00we're not going anywhere it's always up in the air
26:06where is you
26:40I'm so proud.
26:43I'm so proud.
