09:41We're in a place called Chiang Dao.
09:44We're actually staying at sort of an off-grid cabin, which is in a little village just on
09:50the outskirts of Chiang Dao.
09:52I hope I'm saying that right.

10:00But we just came to this little rustic off-grid cabin for a couple of nights because we're
10:10doing a road trip from Chiang Mai to Pai.
10:14We've been to Chiang Mai before.
10:15We spent about a week there.
10:17We didn't really have too much else we wanted to see in Chiang Mai, so we decided to come
10:21up here instead and really just disconnect a bit.
10:24I think we're just going to spend three days in peace and quiet with no traffic, no other
10:31people around.
10:31There's literally nobody around.
10:33We woke up to some cows walking past this morning and some geckos and birds, but other
10:39than that, it's completely silent.
10:41And the view here is amazing.
10:42We'll show you that in a minute.
10:45But we actually flew here to Chiang Mai from Hua Hin, which is actually surprising to some
10:52people that Hua Hin actually has an airport, but the catch is the only place you can fly
10:57to is Chiang Mai.
10:58I hope one day they change that and you can fly to like Phuket or Krabi at least because
11:04that'd make things so much easier for us if we want to do little short trips like this.
11:09But it was really simple to fly here.
11:11We got to the airport like an hour before our flight, checked straight in and we hired
11:16a car and we've got that for about a week.
11:19So we started our trip just north of Chiang Mai and we're going to be driving to Pai in
11:25a couple of days.
11:26But I want to give you a quick tour of this Airbnb because it's awesome.

11:38So I'll give you a quick look around.
11:55They left a nice welcome note even though they missed the O in my name, so I guess my name
12:01would be lid or lied, but it's still a nice touch.
12:09We got the kitchen here.
12:13It's an outdoor kitchen, which is pretty cool.
12:18So we've got a barbecue over here, which we might use tonight to cook dinner.
12:25It's a charcoal barbecue, so I'm guessing it's probably going to take a little while to warm
12:30up.
12:30We went and did grocery shopping on the way here from the airport and picked up, we've
12:36got a full fridge for three days.
12:37We might have actually bought too much food.
12:39I mean, we've got a couple of beers, a couple of no alcohol beers for Mandy.
12:47Mine obviously have alcohol in them, a bit of fruit and veg, and I picked up this.
12:54This is Kratom.
12:55I don't know if anyone's tried this before.
12:57I've never tried it.
12:58We went to a shop on the way here and picked it up.
13:02It's a similar to like coffee and it's a stimulant.
13:06There's two types.
13:07There's one type, which is the green one, which is this one I believe that is like a stimulant
13:12and it's almost like drinking coffee.
13:13It comes from like a tea leaf.
13:15And then there's a red one, which is more of a relaxing tea.
13:20So I've got the green one.
13:21I'm going to try drinking that for a couple of days instead of coffee and see how we go.
13:27And then the kitchen's fully equipped here, pots and pans.
13:33It's a little bit messy because we cooked last night.
13:35We've got the stove top if we don't want to use the barbecue, which I've used to cook
13:41breakfast this morning, cutlery and bowls.
13:50Everything's locked up.
13:52I'm guessing because there's lots of bugs and insects and geckos and stuff.
13:56Here's all our charcoal they provided us for the Barbie.
14:03So this is pretty much what it looks like as content creators to travel.
14:10This is all of our stuff.
14:11My computer, Mandy's phone, we've got the camera battery, GoPro batteries, drone, speaker, all
14:23plugged in to this one little adapter, which I'll show you in a second.

15:50So you can plug four things in at once, but also you can plug into the front here.
15:56So we plug our computer into the front here like that.
16:00And it's as simple as that.
16:02We charge literally everything off this one adapter.
16:06I'll plug it back in because we need to charge up our drone.

17:53Um, so we're coming here for a couple of days to relax.

17:59And you can sit back even if it's raining, it's on the cover and just look at this awesome view,
18:05which we did yesterday when we got here and then I'll show you inside.
18:11So it's pretty basic.
18:13It's pretty small.
18:14Um, but it has everything you need.
18:16We got the bed, which is really just a mattress on the ground, but it's actually really comfortable
18:21and nice.
18:22There's a little desk here if we want to work inside, which I did this morning because
18:28it was raining.
18:29Uh, and then we got heater and air con.
18:35So it's actually a little bit cold here.
18:37Uh, I had the air con on last night when we went to bed and turned it off pretty quick
18:41because, um, it got down to like maybe 15 degrees, which isn't cold, but I mean, compared
18:48to what we're used to, um, it was actually a really good temperature.
18:52And then this is the view from the bed.
18:59These doors actually open up so you can see out into the mountains, uh, we've got a place
19:11here to hang all of our clothes, which I've only done a couple of things.
19:17Mandy probably won't hang anything.
19:19They set us up with coffee and water and cups and everything.
19:24There's a microwave in here and a kettle and the bathroom, which as we mentioned has super
19:36hot water, which is really nice.
19:38And look at the view from the toilet.
19:40I mean, this is one of the best toilet views I've ever seen, I think.
20:01All of these toiletries were already in here as well, shower with hot water.

20:10I think we're going to try and head out before it rains because, um, yeah, it's looking like
20:15it's going to rain pretty soon.
20:17The owner of the Airbnb sent us a full list, um, of things to do while we're here.
20:22There's a couple of little temples that we should visit, he said, and, um, also a cafe that sits
20:28on top of a tea plantation.
20:29This is all tea plantations around here, which is pretty cool.
20:32It feels like we're back in Sri Lanka actually.
20:34Uh, so we might try and head there before it rains.
20:38Most of the road heading up here was paved.
20:41Um, but some of it was pretty muddy and I was a little bit worried, but we got here okay.
20:46The owner's directions to get here, it was really, really good.
20:50They actually send you a video, which like shows you the whole road and every turn you
20:55have to take, because I imagine it can be a little bit confusing and sometimes Google
20:59maps leads you in the wrong path, but yeah, we might try and, uh, we might try and go and
21:05do a couple of things before it rains, because once it starts raining, we're probably just
21:09going to be sitting here for the rest of the day.
