00:00Hey guys, Seiko Mart, or Seiko Ma, as it's often called, is Hokkaido's own convenience store.
00:09They absolutely dominate the convenience store market in Hokkaido, and they are very proud of their Hot Chef,
00:18which is basically just stuff that you get in other convenience stores anyway, the Family Marts and Mini Stops and
00:267-Elevens and so on.
00:27So it's not really, what they actually have in there is not that impressive.
00:31It's pretty much what you get in the other ones.
00:34In fact, probably the other ones, like Mini Stops, probably have a better variety, probably.
00:40But it's not bad. The advantage they have is that they use a lot of Hokkaido product.
00:45So they have Hokkaido ice cream and Hokkaido milk and a whole heap of Hokkaido produced products, which is a
00:52good thing.
00:53So you're getting the local produce.
00:56And obviously they're doing something right because they're just absolutely dominating the convenience store market in Hokkaido.
01:04So you do see the others. You do see Family Mart. You do see 7-Eleven.
01:09But not much. Not much. These guys absolutely dominate.
01:13Apparently there's 1,100 stores in Hokkaido.
01:17I also read that there's a couple of them in Kanto as well, on Honshu, but I've never seen one
01:23anywhere else.
01:24So we've only ever seen them in Hokkaido.
01:27But yeah, not bad. Sort of interesting.
01:30The fresh Hokkaido produce would be the only advantage they really have over the others, probably.
01:36But if you're in Hokkaido, check them out. You're bound to anyway.
