00:28like-minded parties as the tvk puts it and that means largely dmk's former allies are we seeing
00:34a new alliance grouping taking shape in tamaradu what does that mean for the national picture we'll
00:40be talking about that also coming up on the show you've been hearing all about the ram mandir scam
00:45the shabrimala temple scam that's been going on for the last many months the sit has filed its report

00:56are run and who controls them whether it's in ram mandir or shabrimala we're going to be talking
01:02about that as well i'm akshita nanda gopal here at the headlines first

02:59tomorrow there's going to be a crucial political huddle that takes place in tamirnadu the tvk trying
03:05to kind of consolidate its support its backing in tamirnadu is calling as invited all like-minded
03:12parties what does that mean congress iuml mdmk they've all been called for a meeting and all
03:17four parties who they call like-minded no surprise that they were all dmk allies at one point they've
03:23all been invited for this particular meeting what is the outcome that is expected well if they do
03:28attend this could be a new alliance taking shape in tabirnadu that has repercussions yes in the state
03:35but also nationally because you're seeing another regional block being set up what does this mean for
03:40the dmk the dmk chief mk's talent continues to suggest that the tvk doesn't have the numbers
03:46and that they are in government because of all of these parties supporting them
03:50so he suggests elections will be happening in three to six months
04:05the vijay government in tamirnadu is steady strong and moving ahead with ease thanks to the support
04:11of allies chief minister vijay's tvk has now called an alliance meet on july 1st and is preparing to bring
04:20together friendly forces and like-minded partners as part of a broader consolidation exercise
04:30congress vck mdmk and iuml have been extended invitations for the meeting
04:38aia dmk mla's mr vijay bhaskar and c vijay bhaskar have resigned from the party and are poised to join
04:45chief minister vijay's government delivering another blow to eda paddy k palani swami
04:51vijay bhaskar took a jibe at aia dmk and said that he left the party because it planned to ally
04:57with
04:57the dmk which was once called an evil force by jail alita the development comes days after mdmk dumped
05:05the dmk and extended support to vijay's tvk in the upcoming by elections the tvk alliance is growing
05:12stronger with each passing day and chief minister vijay has thanked the allies
05:19congress peri akitin talibar madhippukuriya thiru mallikarjun karge avarkali
05:26paralamanda air gachi talibar madhippukuriya my brother
05:30thiru rahul gandhi avarkal annan thiru thiruma avalavan mp avarkal india union muslim league
05:35kachin talibar madhippukuriya doctor thiru kathar maithin avarkal varrug varrug varrug endo varrug
05:42mukhya ma inda mari nairathala
05:45yenakaga nyinga korral kuduthatukum yenakaga nyinga support pundi kooda way ninnudukum
05:51interestingly the parties which today stand with tvk stood with dmk not long ago
05:56the meeting could be vijay's way to get back at former chief minister stalin's doomsday prediction
06:01of the tvk government not lasting long
06:27the congress which was among the first to drop the dmk alliance
06:31hit back at its old alliance partner we are very clear that this government is a secular government
06:39this government is there against the bjp and rss ideology collectively therefore we are very clear
06:44that we will travel in that path we are sitting together tomorrow we hope that with open mind
06:49we'll be there we will because we wanted to strengthen these like-minded parties to
06:53come on one table and it's a good move by the chief minister
06:57the irony is not to be missed vijay seems to have taken over not just stalin's seat of power
07:03but one by one all his key allies as well
07:09with pramod madhav bureau report india today
07:20and it's clear where the congress really stands in the scheme of things considering that they've dumped
07:25the dmk gone with the tvk part of the government after 59 years i mean that the tamirnata congress
07:32has also seen a churn they've got a new chief in manikam tagot india today has spoken exclusively with him
07:37on really what the congress plans to do to really establish more roots in tamirnadu but at the same
07:44time on the alliance meet that happens tomorrow that will be a crucial test for the congress too
07:49because they've played a big gamble by leaving the dmk joining the tvk is that something that will work
07:55out in their favor for now it has but in the longer run as well considering the india block considering
08:00the national picture is it something that will work out for the congress listening to manikam tagot
08:07how is it going to be a strategy because we saw a fiery speech yesterday you said that anybody
08:12touches congress they will get back yeah we are very clear that congress is not a punching back
08:18for anybody and they can't just just punch and go away we will if they are touching us we will
08:23we
08:24will reply that's our thing and we are very clear that congress is on a move to rebuild and re
08:30-energize
08:30and our face is rahul gandiji rahul gandiji has greater appeal in tamilnad and mr vijay with the
08:38government with vijay in place in tamilnad we have a clear-cut path road mr vijay has promised a clean
08:47government women's safety are his top priorities he is providing he started with a clean government and
08:52therefore we are very much happy that the comrades days are returning on the part of governance part of
08:59through the clean government part because we are that first step is itself is an important step in
09:04tamilnadu's politics you're claiming that vijay is going to give a clean governance dmk constantly
09:09claims that this is going to end anytime soon starlin says it could be three months six months be
09:14prepared how do you want to respond three months there will be local body elections six months there
09:19will be by elections for six seats three years there will be local looks of elections who is going to
09:25win is the question whenever election is happening tvk is going to win and this alliance is going to win
09:31tvk congress alliance is going to win therefore we are very confident that our alliance is a popular
09:36alliance in the ground it has a greater connect with the people of tamilnad the people of tamilnad
09:41have rejected corrupt forces we are very clear that a progressive um social justice based uh yeah clean
09:48government will provide more support for them i want to ask because tomorrow there's going to be a
09:54meeting with the chief minister friendly parties are you going to bring a name to this particular
09:58alliance because we have iuml vck and congress in this alliance right now we need to understand that
10:03the chief minister mr vijay has called for a meeting today the ministers are going to come and to invite
10:07us therefore we are very clear that we are with open mind we had we want the bjp and rss
10:14to be stopped
10:14in tamilnad therefore we stopped supported a government which uh when the minister vijay wanted it
10:20when he invited when he requested rahul gandiji for support we are very clear that this government
10:26is a secular government this government is against the bjp and rss ideology collectively therefore we
10:32are very clear that we will travel in that path we are sitting together tomorrow we hope that with
10:37open mind we'll be there we will because we wanted to strengthen these like-minded parties to come on one
10:42table and it's a good move by the chief minister last question sir what do you want to say about
10:46this
10:46horse trading kind of allegation by bjp and dm what is car stating is a meaning you should choose first
10:54let me open this up as well uh before i bring in our panelists promote madhav is joining us live
11:00with more details on this promote what are you picking up congress of course is going to be a part
11:05of
11:06that meeting tomorrow the vck the r uml the mdmk will they all be attending the meeting and does that
11:12effectively mean the end of the dmk alliance well it surely looks like that uh right now because it
11:17seems to be a very important turning point currently considering that the chief minister vijay wants to
11:21give this particular alliance which is nameless for now a particular name and if it happens so
11:25it looks like the alliance will be forged and imagine such kind of alliances are actually forced
11:30before the election but for tvk it looks like they come to power and now they are forming an alliance
11:34which could actually go ahead and contradict whatever that's done by dmk and ai dmk itself and if that
11:39happens and if the alliance gets a name very clearly political pundits here claim that this
11:43is going to be for a long run at least until 2019 this could be kept together as well and
11:47so we'll
11:49have to see what really that means as far as national politics and that picture is concerned because
11:54remember in the india block even now when you had a letter written by the india block the dmk was
11:59part
11:59of it will that still continue because they've signed off on the letter that the congress also signed
12:04off on now with the tvk congress alliance firming up in the sense that you could see a formal name
12:10being given where does that leave the dmk and the entire india block picture thanks promote for
12:16joining us with those details let me bring in on this broadcast v srinidhi spokesperson of the dmk
12:21and satya kumar national spokesperson of the tvk srinidhi the question everyone's going to be
12:26asking is whether the alliance meet that happens tomorrow will ultimately mean the biggest blow
12:31for the dmk that all of the parties that were once allying with you your partners your allies
12:37at tabernadu have all switched sides it's definitely not a blow to dmk akhita because see first of all
12:45these so-called allies they behave very very opportunistically and the primary question is
12:51will vijay give ministers had he had the shortfall if he did not have that 107 seats he would have
12:58definitely not given ministerial births to anybody leave alone congress iuml whoever because there was
13:04a shortfall i think he he was pushed to a situation where he has to uh share the ministerial births
13:11and
13:11the allies have been opportunistic because these allies always wanted somebody to travel along with
13:17it's been admk and dmk in the past and now that the tvk has a shortfall they've very well gone
13:22and
13:22attached themselves to this whole thing uh satya kumar your opening comments are on this you've got
13:29the dmk essentially suggesting that look ultimately the tvk has only come to power because of the support
13:35that you've got from these other parties without them you would have been in a soup
13:40see i always said this and i keep repeating it for one single reason the allies of dmk were not
13:48happy
13:48with the dmk earlier the allies of the earlier uh the the allies were not happy with the dmk for
13:53a
13:53simple reason they always wanted the power with them they wanted to secure the power using the allies
13:59but they never shared the power with them as against when they were in alliance with the same congress
14:06at the central level they used to demand ministerial birth almost for 10 years they enjoyed it
14:12sreeni they can never deny it for a simple reason many many of the ministers who are now in the
14:18parliament they were all sent to parliament only to actually get the ministerial birth through congress
14:23there so what applies to dmk they don't want to apply to congress when they are in alliance in the
14:30state level according excuse me accordingly the ally allies were not happy so when they got an
14:42alternate opportunity now tvk came to power in fact the tvk's offering was share in power share in
14:49governance even before the election even after the election we offer the same we will offer the same
14:56forever but what about what about also but mr satya kumar what about also the allegations of host
15:02trading of poaching that the tvk is facing right now in light of so many idmk ml is every single
15:08day
15:08quitting simple question akshita what is the provision of law that we have violated
15:16you cannot simply allocate saying australia
15:20what is the provision of law that we have violated no so legally can somebody quote me the law can
15:27somebody quote me the section can somebody quote me the article of the constitution i agree with
15:31you mr satya kumar legally constitutionally sure you can suggest that none of this is illegal but
15:36there's a matter of principle as well but what the principle is very simple share in power share in
15:42governance that's our offering that's our offering forever no party in india offers openly we are
15:48offering it when we started our party the two eyes of our party is secular social justice ideology
15:55and to share in power sharing governance as committed we provided the ministerial birth to vck as well as
16:03to congress iuml and the offering to them the offering to them is to see to that the social justice
16:12is
16:12in action we rephrase the the department name the ministry name itself as ministry of social justice
16:19okay strange he wants to come let me complete takshita let me complete okay okay finish uh we
16:26we have also given ministerial births to um sest's real social justice in action today if bava said dr br
16:35could have been there you would have appreciated our leader charismatic leader vijay for simple
16:41reason we have followed almost near to proportional representation not just in party positions but also
16:48in the government so the term of social justice of course is something that's always been rampant in
16:54tamil nado politics as well but srinidi your point yeah see as i said earlier see again and again you
17:01telling us that dmk did not give share in power to its allies i think we really have to bust
17:06the
17:06myth here because what we are failing to understand is even when we faced a minority government with 96
17:13seats in 2006 we have to understand what parallelly happened in pondicherry pondicherry the government
17:19was congress and there we did not request for a share in power dmk did not request for a sharing
17:24power in tamil nadu in pondicherry so conveniently the arrangement was in such a way that tamil nadu congress
17:30did not ask for a share in power so earlier be it with jay lalitha or kalini or whoever there
17:36was
17:36never them asking for power and here i think absolutely adhav arjuna is keeping lock and key
17:42for all all these allies because a lot of times the moment that they form the government communists
17:48have clearly shown their dissent over multiple things which tvk has announced there's also the
17:54situation where we don't know when vck is going to be uh going out of the alliance so no but
17:59really the
18:00ultimately ultimately politically who has been outfoxed here the dmk has been outfoxed you can
18:06say that we've never agreed to power sharing the tvk agreed that's why they've got all these parties
18:10on board you're left isolated ultimately these were all parties who are on your side who've all switched
18:16over yeah that's what i'm saying so but but how are we sure that these things will not be um
18:23you know
18:23this this will not change in another election because here the allies have been opportunistic
18:28and also the except for the communists who had that's politics they go over to the winning side
18:34yes no no what i'm saying is they came with a clear stand saying just because to prevent governor's
18:39rule i'm going and participating in the government and uh the leader uh clearly said that we are not
18:45asking for a ministerial but because we know that there will be definitely collisions that happens
18:50within the cabinet that's the reason why tamilada always followed no ministerial births for the
18:55allies in the past but now having said that just getting a ministerial birth how will it grow congress
19:00as a party it will not because all these allies if you dissect individually and see be it the latest
19:06addition mdmk what is the allies strength that they have and in fact there's always a split in these
19:12parties if you take mdmk example two mlas there they are refusing to uh you know go and support tvk
19:20they are still with dmk the mallai satya faction so i think the suggestion mr satya kumar from sridi
19:26is that this is a government that's on the brink of collapse mk stalin has said it three to six
19:31months
19:32he says there will be fresh elections in double noddle i really uh revere and respect uh
19:39sridi always for her eloquent uh points but never for this point i'm sure that she knows very well
19:47she herself is smiling that this government will stay for another five years for simply the
19:52arithmetics are working in our favor the arithmetic since the time that we got elected it's working in
19:57our favor sridi can't you see that see we had one or eight people said no we can't form the
20:03government
20:05you have shared power let me finish my point just a second just hold on i'll give you a chance
20:13to
20:13respond so what we we got one or eight and then subsequently you people said no we will not secure
20:20the uh seats we we we got the allies supporting us then you people said we will not provide a
20:26ministerial birth to them we provided ministerial birth to them now many people from other party
20:32we we they they were supposed to come together as a group now those mlas are resigning voluntarily
20:38and coming to us and you people are deeming it as australian here they are coming only for a
20:45simple reason they know that the tvk is the future tvk has a mandate of the people and two allies
20:54are
20:54coming here and they're very happy earlier allies were under hitler rule in the dmk they were made
21:02the party dmk party was using them for securing votes how can you say that mr mk stalin secured the
21:10votes the votes did not come for mk stalin it came because allies were with you you were able to
21:17win
21:17chepak for a simple reason iuml was with you iuml has come this side now let us see we'll contest
21:23in
21:23chepak whether mr udianity stalin is winning steen you have to apply logic of politics yeah okay why
21:31i don't have much time free your response see iuml you calling iuml as the only voice of muslim i
21:42will
21:42not agree we still have sdpi we have javarullah in fact tamimon ansari the chidambaram mla he was
21:49ready to refuse his he was ready to resign his mla seat and offer it to mr stalin so see
21:56there are so
21:56many muslims still supporting dmk in fact it was your leader who refused to open his mouth against the
22:04tirpuram gundram issue so just saying because iuml left our alliance the whole muslims are against us i
22:12will not buy that uh satya that's a definitely uh i will not buy that i think the muslims are
22:17still
22:18in support of dmk and in coming elections it will definitely prove for the fact see also actually
22:23that's about how much each one brings to the tables yes everybody faced together as a party
22:28the alliance but we definitely brought a larger source of uh people and goodwill to the table to
22:34the uh to the whole alliance yeah you were leading the alliance yes but you lost also in this election
22:40leading that alliance and now the alliance has crumbled because everyone's shifted over
22:44to the tvk and so the dmk right now is perhaps the biggest loser and all that's happened in the
22:51last
22:5140 days i wouldn't uh agree to that loser aspect because each of these allies how much did they
22:58contribute to the election and how much are they going to contribute in the future is something we
23:02have to wait to watch so i will not uh i will not agree to that statement saying okay but
23:08i just i
23:08just focus on the graphic on our screens where you had this mammoth alliance versus tvk standing alone
23:14that was about 40 days ago before uh you know the verdict came in now look at the difference it's
23:19dmk
23:20versus all of these parties all of them who are with the dmk have switched over so clearly something
23:25went wrong clearly there is a need for introspection for the dmk they're always used to be with somebody
23:31and face the elections now they are gone with the tvk in one failure i'm sure they're all going to
23:38be
23:38rushing uh nowhere let's see let's see if that happens because the dmk suggests that there'll be
23:43elections in the next few months but we'll leave it at that mr satya kumara and sriniti thank you very
23:48much for your time for joining us here on india today here's a major people first move by the
23:55vijay government tamirnadu chief minister vijay has announced that all future government-based
23:59procurements will be air-conditioned reinforcing his vision of a modern comfortable and accessible
24:06public transport system now this if implemented will make tamirnadu the first state in the country
24:12to have only ac buses for commuters and in the heat in tamirnadu this will be a welcome respite
24:19ask me i faced it and so i know exactly what i'm talking about when i say the heat in
24:23tamirnadu is
24:24unbearable the vijay government has said this initiative aims to provide quality bus connectivity
24:29across every part of the state while making it also convenient and comfortable for everyone what's
24:35also interesting is what sparked the decision after recently traveling on a government bus himself this
24:40was just from a couple of days ago and the footage is on your screens chief minister vijay reportedly
24:45felt that every new bus should be equipped with air conditioning he was in an air-conditioned bus so he
24:51felt that the experience was much better as a result so that personal experience has turned into a
24:57statewide policy this announcement also comes shortly after the launch of 300 new buses worth 127 crores
25:04highlighting the government's push to modernize tamirnadu's public transport network if this is
25:09implemented like i said it's an absolute game changer for tamirnadu
25:17now we've been covering what's been happening in ram mandir the scam the allegations about donations
25:23being stolen that's being investigated shabrimala similar allegations so of gold plates outside the
25:30samtang samtoram having been messed with tweaked and stolen all of this loot happening in the name of
25:36asta now remember that shabrimala has been a case that's been going on for the last many months
25:41a special investigation team has submitted an interim report before the keralam high court claiming it's
25:47gathered material linking two former senior trawankor devaswam board officials to the alleged conspiracy
25:54former board officials have also been named there's a political link in this two of them
25:58ldf netas let's get you more details in this report a temple linked to the faith of millions and a
26:07theft
26:08that attacked the faith of devotees the supremeala temple which has been in the spotlight over the gold
26:14theft is once again back in the spotlight the sit has submitted an interim report before the kerala high
26:21court claiming it has gathered material linking two former senior trawankor devaswam board officials
26:27to the alleged conspiracy former devaswam president ps prashant and former board member
26:33arj kumar have now been named by the sit in its order the kerala high court noted the sit's findings
26:41that the accused conspired to remove the original gold cladding from the dwar palika idols replace it
26:48with a thin layer of gold plating and misappropriate the remaining gold the sit further informed the
26:55court that its investigation into the alleged gold misappropriation from the temple door frames is
27:00complete the cpim which is receiving flak due to its leader's alleged role in the theft says it will
27:07wait for the sit's findings before it comments on it the left government have not intervened
27:15uh in the investigation process of the sat sat as constituted by the honorable high court of kerala
27:22and all investigation report was submitted before the high court at this time it's not a point of time
27:29to discuss all these things we will wait what are the findings of the sat then we can comment on
27:34that
27:36the btp meanwhile slammed the satisan government and warned that if the government doesn't act the
27:41saffron party will launch an agitation cm satisan had previously promised action in the matter
27:48about 2500 kilometers away from sabrimala is ayodhya the birthplace of lord ram and home of the ram temple
27:56which too is marred by a similar case of corruption and loot these temples are not mere shrines but symbols
28:03of faith with the faith of millions attached to them and such cases of loot are nothing but insult
28:10to that faith with shibimol kg bureau report india today let me bring in shibimol who's joining us
28:19live from thirvanath puram with more details on this should be run us through really what the interim
28:25report has said who are the names who are involved there are a couple of names who've just come up
28:30for
28:30the first time in this particular scam they've got political links to break that down for us
28:38uh well actually the main finding is that uh two travanko devasam board officials former travanko
28:43devasam board officials including the travanko devasam president former travanko devasam board
28:48president uh ps prashant is an accused in the case and now both of them and ajikumar who's a travanko
28:54devas a former travanko devasam board member now both of them were questioned earlier by the sit but
28:58they were not made and accused in the case both of them are linked to uh the ldf uh uh
29:03ps prashant
29:03is linked to cpim and ajikumar is linked to cpi uh so the in the interim report when the interim
29:09report is submitted by the sit before kerala high court they said that you know they found material
29:13evidence in the last few months of investigation against these people and they need to be made
29:17and accused in the case uh the high court directed them to make uh you know them accused in the
29:21case
29:21and that's the latest development you know the travanko devasam board president who was a sitting
29:25travanko devasam board president until few months ago is an accused in the case uh the sit also
29:31informed the court that you know out of the two cases the investigation in the doorframe case of
29:36sanctum sanctorum has been completed they need some more time to complete the dwarapalaga idol case is
29:41what the sit has informed and the most important finding is that uh uh you know in 2019 when this
29:47was taken the dwarapalaga idols were taken to chennai's smart creations for replating uh it's being said
29:53that uh there was a proper gold plating outside the idols uh they removed it and instead coated it
29:58with a thin layer so that they can misappropriate the uh the actual gold and that's exactly what they
30:04have done is what uh the sit has found in its report so uh more questioning will take place more
30:09in the investigation essentially you know what this highlights is the lens to which they went
30:14to cover up the scam cheat in the name of god and it's unfortunately something that's not new it's not
30:21just in shabarimala we're seeing it in so many major temples across the country that it begs the
30:26question of who really can be held accountable in some cases you ask should the government not
30:31control temples in some cases you suggest a trust should but in every possible circumstance it's the
30:36same kind of scam loot that comes to light whether it's shabarimala whether it's rammandir whether
30:42it's tiruputi whether it's padmanabha swami i can go on and on with that list thanks should be for
30:46joining us with those details okay let's move on and get your ground report from bengaluru where
30:53you've got now the sir the special intensive revision the cleanup of voter rolls it's kicked
30:59off officially in karnataka and interestingly while there's a whole lot of politics over it as expected
31:04considering it's a congress rule state you've got chief minister dk shivkumar however highlighting and
31:09stressing that everyone comes on board cooperate with the election commission and ensure that they
31:15sign up for the exercise he's in fact taken the lead on this to ensure he sets an example
31:21chief minister dk shivkumar went ahead and filled the form the enumeration form earlier today here's the
31:27report the election commission special intensive revision of electoral rolls began across karnataka on monday
31:37with booth level officers launching a door-to-door distribution of enumeration forms
31:42to over 5.54 crore registered voters
31:48chief minister dk shivkumar urged every voter to fill sign and return the form within 30 days
31:56warning that failure to do so could lead to the loss of voting rights the chief minister described
32:02voting rights as the right to life all of you i request you to see that you retain your voter
32:11lists
32:12and if you doesn't have your voter list on the car tomorrow you may find difficult to get the benefits
32:18from the door we are going to do the facilities or the guarantees or whatever the pensions or any
32:24program from the dormant only a piece of water of karnataka and a resident doctor to facilitate the
32:33exercise the government has set up 49,320 assistance centers across gram panchayats and urban wards to help
32:41citizens complete the process the electoral roll revision will cover 5.54 crore voters
32:47through 49,320 assistance centers with 68,123 election officials deployed the draft electoral roll
32:58will be published on august 5th and the final roll on october 7th chief electoral officer anbu kumar
33:05clarified that no documents will be collected during the enumeration phase supporting documents will be
33:12sought only after the draft electoral roll is published on august 5th and only from voters who
33:19receive notices over discrepancies
33:23i request all the voters please don't give any document till the enumeration phase is completed
33:29to the blo we will not ask for any document after draft roll is published if there is any discrepancy
33:36in the details the notice will be served to the council where we may need to ask for some document
33:45for verification however the exercise has already run into political resistance congress mla rizwan
33:54arshad has questioned the feasibility of verifying more than 5.5 crore voters within just 30 days alleging
34:02a lack of transparency and raising concerns over the implementation of the process if you are not
34:09very transparent how do you how do people trust you when there is an election commission which is not
34:15transparent when there is an election commission which is completely surrendered to bjp when there
34:20is an election commission who doesn't give a fair hearing forget about the fair play then we need to
34:27convey to the people that these are the issues meanwhile tensions spread in bengaluru's chama raj
34:34pet where congress and bjp workers clashed over the launch of the sir exercise the congress has alleged
34:41that election officials held discussions only with bjp representatives and objected to the absence of all
34:47designated boot level officers the confrontation briefly disrupted the revision process before officials
34:55stepped in to restore order the chief minister dk shu kumar has warned the people stating that they had to
35:04enroll themselves or else they will lose out on the benefits of both central and the state government
35:10including the guarantee schemes with the regions madhu sagaraj reporting for india today bengaluru
35:18nagarjan dwarkhanath is joining us live from bengaluru with more details on this nagar
35:22uh while there have been questions asked by the karnataka home minister on the ec's process
35:27ultimately we are seeing a message from the congress government to cooperate with the election
35:33commission that sir looks like will be largely uncontroversial at this point of time ashita both bjp
35:40and congress have accepted sir in karnataka and want to take it in a non-confrontational way chief
35:45minister yesterday did a press conference and told the media also and told the people that people will have
35:51to ensure that they are registered in the voter uh voter list and ensure that they cooperate with
35:55the election commission if not they lose the benefit of availing any guarantee schemes in karnataka
36:01except for the point that the cabinet has asked some specific questions from the election commission
36:06about what is logical discrepancy according to them if they are deleting the data and what technology
36:11are they using what ai tools are they using to ensure uh the names are matched all these questions are
36:16opposed by home minister of karnataka mr priyan khargi but largely both congress and bjp are in sync
36:22about having sir in karnataka and now blos uh have started to go house by house door by door to
36:29ensure they get the enumeration form filled and the blos or also of political parties assisting the blos
36:34to ensure the data is filled so till june 29th things might go smoothly because it is just
36:38enumeration form and data collection post the 29th when august 5th when the draft election electoral list
36:44is published that's when i think a lot of controversy will happen and we'll have to wait and see which
36:48party feels that their vote bank has been deleted will come to the forefront then okay 2028 by the
36:54way is when karnataka goes to election so you've got a good two years before that but there's no doubt
37:00that the politics over sir which we've seen in so many other states could perhaps play out in
37:04karnataka also thanks very much naga for getting us all of those details consoons arrived in most parts
37:11of the country several cities are experiencing heavy downpour which has led to water logging let me
37:16get you a sense of what the situation is across the country focusing on mumbai first in navi
37:23mumbai's vashi there was severe water logging that was reported with roads submerged and commuters
37:27beating through floodwaters
37:33navi mumbai bore the brunt of heavy rainfall as roads went to underwater slowing traffic and
37:38disrupting movement of vehicles
37:44heavy rainfall in gujarat too these are the seeds from lafsari district severe water logging rainwater
37:49entering homes in several localities
37:55the andeeri subway was submerged the same story every year every monsoon of the andeeri subway going
38:01under water water logging potholes causing major traffic congestion
38:09give you a sense of what the situation is in different parts of the country this is ranchi
38:13which received heavy rainfall bringing relief from humidity even as other regions struggle to control
38:19the monsoon impact
38:22the monsoon has officially reached bihar as well this is in rotas where there is widespread water logging
38:32the northeast has been hit hard a 300 meter iron bridge over the kami river
38:37in assam's demajri district was swept away by flood water severely affecting regional connectivity
38:46uttrakhan's uddham singh nagar witnessed severe water logging with flood water entering homes and a residential school as well
38:57these images are from surat where there was water logging roads were completely
39:03under water uh and daily life is disrupted
39:10in surat major civic lapses being exposed a 400 meter road in a motor varacha has caved in
39:17and multiple portals forming due to alleged poor drainage work
39:27we've seen a weak monsoon in june july to expect below normal rainfall is what the med department has forecast
39:35what they're suggesting is that it could be likely under 94 percent of the long period average july is
39:41typically the wettest monsoon months in most states of the country and yet this time around the med department
39:47has said that it's going to be a very weak monsoon so if people were expecting particularly farmers were
39:54expecting some respite from the heat in june and from a below power monsoon that's not going to happen
39:59july 2 it's going to be a very weak monsoon uh and so brace yourself for very little rainfall and
40:07imagine
40:07what this will really mean for farmers in parts of maharashtra both maximum and minimum temperatures are
40:13expected to stay above normal across most parts of the country for the coming week the med department
40:18has even issued a heat and high humidity advisory remember june ended with a 40 percent rainfall
40:24deficit nationwide the monsoon was delayed in so many parts of the country and amid that july 2 is going
40:31to be a below power monsoon many parts of the country yet to be hit by the monsoon in delhi
40:36uh
40:37considering every part of the country saw a delay in monsoon hitting delhi ncr is expected to receive
40:42the monsoon in two to three days so a below power monsoon in parts of the country to see the
40:55super
40:56el nino and in europe you've been seeing all of the talk of the heat wave temperatures soaring to record
41:02temperatures essentially in parts of europe but with that also a whole lot of videos that you've been
41:08seeing doing the rounds on social media so we decided to bring you a fact check to get you a
41:12sense
41:13of whether some of these videos you've been seeing are real or not in the time of ai a lot
41:20of it is
41:20untrue let me give you some examples there's been this particular video that i'm sure you've all seen
41:26on social media it spread shock of a melted traffic light the claim was that this was in germany that
41:33the
41:33heat wave melted a traffic light did that happen not really it melted actually due to a car fire and
41:39these images are not even from germany it's from italy it happened a few days ago yes but it was
41:44due
41:44to a car fire not the heat wave so again don't fall for everything you see on social media similarly
41:50another one there was a claim that a heat wave has melted car tires in arizona that is a video
41:58there
41:58again you must have seen this on social media because it was doing the rounds this is actually
42:03a video that's from two years ago we verified it we cross-checked it we found that this has been
42:08a video
42:09that was going viral two years ago the source of it is unclear but what we can confirm for you
42:14is that
42:15it has nothing to do with the heat wave and most definitely not now now another video of a road
42:20tarmac
42:21melting due to extreme heat that's the video there where you see someone poking it it is melted
42:28it's not a new video this is three years old so it hasn't happened in the current heat wave also
42:34we
42:34don't know exactly where this video is from but this video doing the rounds on social media isn't from
42:40now it's not a result of the current heat wave in europe so again a fake video there banana peel
42:45splits
42:46due to extreme heat this is another one that's been going viral this is again a two-year-old video
42:52it
42:52hasn't happened now so again another false narrative that's been spread with an old video to claim all
42:59of this is the impact of the heat wave yes the heat wave is intense yes we're seeing a huge
43:04impact
43:05on the ground but don't believe everything you see on social media all those videos that we just showed
43:10on you all fake none of them have happened as a result of the heat wave in europe
43:15you
