Desperate Housewives S05E10
Transcript
00:00Previously on Desperate Housewives, a tragic event led to the end of a marriage.
00:08He's dating a friend of mine.
00:10And the pain of moving on.
00:14Medical wonders were promised.
00:16If we remove that bone fragment, you could regain your sight.
00:19Both large and small.
00:21My husband has agreed to the procedure you suggested.
00:24The one to alleviate his snoring?
00:25Detective.
00:26And a devastating lie was told.
00:28The night of the fire, I saw somebody come out.
00:30His name is Porter Scavo.
00:37One morning, it occurred to Lynette Scavo she could not remember the last time her family had breakfast together.
00:48So Lynette did what any mother would do in that situation.
00:57See you later, Mom.
00:59The first person who steps foot out that door will lose a leg.
01:02She threatened her family with violence.
01:15That was delicious, but I did promise Christy I'd walk her to school today.
01:19Oh, you are such a gentleman.
01:21Sit your ass down.
01:23Dad, make Mom let me go.
01:26Everyone at this table who thinks I have the power to make your mom do anything?
01:30Raise your hand.
01:37Wish I could have helped.
01:40Look, this family has been through a lot lately, and your dad and I feel we'll be better parents if
01:45we know what's going on in your lives.
01:49So, Parker, how's that science project you've been working on?
01:53Hey, can I help you?
01:55Is this the residence of Porter Scavo?
01:57Yeah, why?
01:59I'm Porter Scavo.
02:00Sir, can you step outside?
02:02Can you step outside?
02:03Porter Scavo, you are under arrest.
02:05What?
02:05The other right to remain silent.
02:07Wait, what's going on?
02:08Ma'am, I'm going to have to ask you to step back.
02:09Okay, guys, look, this is about Warren Schilling's bar.
02:12Porter had nothing to do with that fire.
02:13Apparently there's a witness that says otherwise.
02:14Oh, witness, I...
02:15Now, will you please step back and let us do our job?
02:18If you give up that right, anything you say can and will be used against you in a sort of
02:22law.
02:22Oh, witness, what are they talking about?
02:24It's going to be okay.
02:26We'll call a lawyer.
02:27We'll get through this.
02:41Lynette Scavo couldn't remember the last time her family had breakfast together.
02:47Guess we're done talking about my science project, huh?
02:51Yes, sweetie, we are.
02:53And she couldn't know.
02:55It would be many years before her family would have breakfast together again.
03:13It's an awful thing to live in the dark, unable to see what others take for granted.
03:20But sometimes, for a lucky few, a flicker of light pierces that darkness
03:26and brings with it the promise of better days to come.
03:33Do you see anything?
03:36I see light.
03:39And some fuzzy shapes.
03:41That's it?
03:43That's all he can expect to see right now.
03:45But if he's able to see that much, it won't be long until his full sight returns.
03:51Can you see me, babe?
03:52Just your silhouette.
03:54I can tell you cut your hair short.
03:55It kind of makes your ears stick out, but I like it.
03:59Carlos, that's the doctor.
04:00I'm right here.
04:02Doesn't matter.
04:03I can see something other than nothing.
04:05Oh, this is a good day.
04:08Now, remember, his eyes will be very sensitive for the next few weeks.
04:12So, low light indoors, dark glasses outside.
04:16Uh, doctor, we are very grateful, so don't take this the wrong way, but...
04:28Well, your septum looks great, and you say your snoring's gone.
04:31I think we're in good shape.
04:32Will we need to come in for a follow-up?
04:34Nope.
04:34I think we're done.
04:37You know, I always tell my patients I'm going to miss them, but this time I really mean it.
04:41Oh, we feel the same way about you.
04:42You've been lovely.
04:45Oh, please excuse me.
04:50What are you doing?
04:51Leaving the man a thank you card.
04:53For a doctor?
04:54He helped you through a very difficult time.
04:56The least we can do is let him know how much we appreciate...
05:02What the hell is this?
05:09You're living with the man?
05:11Since when?
05:12Um, Alex moved in six months ago.
05:15Why the secrecy?
05:16Did you think I'd disapprove?
05:17The man's a doctor, for heaven's sakes.
05:19You've done better than I did.
05:21That was a bit of a drive-by.
05:22I'm just trying to understand how my son could keep a secret like this from his own mother.
05:28Mom, come on.
05:29I mean, since I came out, you haven't shown the slightest interest in my love life.
05:33Of course I have.
05:35Handing me a pamphlet on the resurgence of gonorrhea?
05:37That's not what I'm talking about.
05:39Think about it.
05:40Have you even once asked if I was dating someone?
05:45Well...
05:45You see, you didn't really want to know.
05:48That's why I didn't tell you.
05:52Well, I want to know now.
05:54So that's why I'm having you and Alex over to dinner tomorrow night.
05:57What?
05:57Yes, if he's a part of your life, I want to get to know him.
06:00I think I'll surfish.
06:01Actually, I said it wrong.
06:02Um, I think it's kind of cool the way that you ignore my love life.
06:05Nice try.
06:06Tell Alex we dress for dinner.
06:08Mom, please don't.
06:10Andrew, you can't criticize my parenting and then deny me the chance to make up for it.
06:16Orson and I will expect you at eight.
06:20Okay.
06:24Are you sure you want me there, too?
06:26I mean, after all, I'm only a dentist.
06:27Oh, for God's sakes, Orson, let it go.
06:31MJ, hurry up.
06:33Your dad's here.
06:38Hey, Catherine.
06:40What are you doing here?
06:41Well, I'm a big zoo fan, and when Mike said he was taking MJ, I asked if I could tag
06:46along.
06:47So is that okay?
06:48Of course.
06:49Why wouldn't it be okay?
06:50I think it's...
06:54Great.
06:58Really, really great.
07:04Sweetie, good news.
07:06Catherine's going to go to the zoo with you.
07:08Where does she have to go?
07:11Uh, well, she and your daddy are friends, and the more the merrier.
07:16I just want daddy.
07:19Oh, you got me, pal.
07:21Hey, we're going to have a great time, and we'll show Catherine that funny swing the monkey goes on.
07:26Oh, that sounds so cool.
07:28Will you show me that?
07:32I guess.
07:34Okay, let's go.
07:36Oh, don't forget his coat.
07:41I'll find some way to get him to like me.
07:43I'm sure you will.
07:46Boy, I'll bet the gift shop at the zoo just loves divorce.
07:59So, how are you doing, son?
08:01Not so good.
08:03Okay, well, don't worry.
08:05Bob here has agreed to represent you.
08:08When we're done here, I'm going to go to the DA, and we're going to start talking about bail.
08:11But first, I've got to ask you a few questions.
08:13Like, why do the police have a witness?
08:15The DA says you were spotted coming out of the storage room right before the fire started.
08:21What gives?
08:21I don't know what they're talking about.
08:23I have an alibi.
08:24You do?
08:26Great, great.
08:27Why haven't you told anyone this?
08:29It's just so embarrassing.
08:33You are up for manslaughter, and you're worried about being embarrassed?
08:37If we can verify your story, I can probably get the charges dropped.
08:40We wouldn't even need bail.
08:41So, where were you?
08:43It was at Edie Britt's.
08:46Oh, please.
08:48Tell me you're not having sex with her, too.
08:51Dad.
08:52What is wrong with girls your own age?
08:54Do you know what I would give to date a 17-year-old?
09:00Okay, we're going to talk about that later.
09:02You were saying?
09:03I'm not having sex with Edie.
09:04After I left the club, I went to her house.
09:07But only so I could break in and steal her gun.
09:12Why would you do that?
09:14Mr. Schilling beat up Ann and then humiliated me.
09:18I wanted to scare the hell out of him, just to wipe that smug look off his face.
09:24But when I got back to the club, it was on fire, so I went home and hid the gun
09:29in Mom's flower jar.
09:32Anyway, that's my alibi.
09:36Think that'll help?
09:41Did anyone see you do this?
09:43No.
09:45Then this is really not an alibi.
09:48It's more a confession to another crime.
09:53Oh.
09:56Well, you missed it.
09:58Missed what?
09:59Porter Scabo got arrested today.
10:01I knew he set that fire.
10:04Poor Lynette.
10:05Poor Lynette, my ass.
10:07Poor seven people who got burned to death.
10:11Boy, wouldn't want to be in Lynette's shoes right now.
10:14Can you imagine what she's going through?
10:17I mean, he is her son, so she's kind of responsible.
10:22God, the guilt she must be through.
10:30Dave, what the hell?
10:33You're bleeding.
10:37Okay, come on.
10:38In the house.
10:38Let's get this cleaned up.
10:40Here.
10:58You're just going to sneak it back into Edie's house?
11:01Are you crazy?
11:02Tom, if you're going to freak out, can you do that in the other room?
11:04I'm kind of busy here.
11:05What has happened to us?
11:07I mean, we're posting bail, returning stolen guns.
11:11When did this become our life?
11:13If Edie reports this gun missing, you don't have to be the sharpest cop on the force to figure
11:18out where to start looking, and that's the last thing we need right now.
11:22You got me, Lynette.
11:24You always know what to do in a crisis.
11:26Oh, I try.
11:29You're my rock, Lynette.
11:31You know that, don't you?
11:32Tom, your rock is trying to get fingerprints off a weapon.
11:35You mind?
11:38Thanks.
11:45You're home kind of early.
11:46Is everything okay?
11:49Go up to your room.
11:50We'll come in in a minute.
11:51We'll talk about what happened.
11:55What did happen?
11:56Well, MJ threw his hot fudge sundae at Catherine.
12:00Seriously?
12:04That's terrible.
12:04Is she okay?
12:05Well, she's got nuts and whipped cream all in her hair, and that little plastic coconut
12:09bowl scratched her forehead.
12:12Susan.
12:13I'm sorry.
12:14The image in my mind is probably way funnier than what actually happened.
12:19Why did MJ do that?
12:20I don't know.
12:21Catherine and I were talking about spending Christmas in Bermuda, and she said she didn't
12:24want to go because she thinks she doesn't look good in a bathing suit, and I said she could
12:27be on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
12:29And bam, MJ throws his dessert.
12:32That's the worst thing I've ever heard.
12:34Well, he is only five.
12:36No, I'm talking about that line you fed her, Sports Illustrated.
12:41What was the issue about?
12:42The Senior Olympics?
12:44I'm going to talk to MJ.
12:46I mean, I could see her on the cover of Menopause Monthly.
13:01Everything is still a little blurry.
13:03I can only make out, like, shapes and shadows.
13:07But in a week or so, everything should be clear as a bell.
13:09Wow.
13:10The whole thing's like a miracle.
13:12And Gabby has been so patient through all of this.
13:15She's really been an angel.
13:17Damn it, Carlos.
13:18What are you, a moron?
13:20Ah, I hear a little voice from heaven now.
13:22Why aren't you wearing your blackout glasses?
13:24The doctor says your eyes can't be exposed to any light.
13:27I can only handle my husband going blind once per marriage.
13:32Whoops.
13:33Was that my baseball?
13:34Yeah, I got it.
13:35What do you think?
13:36Pretty cool, huh?
13:37Uh, yeah.
13:39It's round.
13:41Look at it.
13:42It was signed by Lou Gehrig.
13:54It was a gift passed down from my grandfather to my father, then to me.
14:00It was?
14:01I didn't know that.
14:02I thought it was some stupid collector's item.
14:04No.
14:05That's why we wouldn't let you sell it when we were low on cash.
14:12Uh, Carlos, I think it's time to put your eye drops in.
14:15Why don't you go do that?
14:16Excuse me, ladies.
14:22Oh, don't look at me that way.
14:23I did what I had to do.
14:25Gabby, you never sell a man's autographed baseball.
14:28The car needed tires.
14:29How was I supposed to know he was going to get his sight back?
14:31I mean, of all the rotten luck...
14:34Who did you sell the ball to?
14:35I don't know.
14:36It was some Italian guy.
14:39Hey, Mike's into baseball.
14:41He must know someone who can track down this Lou Gehrig guy and get him to sign a new one.
14:47What?
14:54What's going on?
14:55Is there news?
14:55The judge just sent bail.
14:57Oh, thank God.
14:58How much?
14:59$20,000.
15:00That's high.
15:02Where are we going to get that kind of money?
15:03I guess we'll have to tap our emergency fund.
15:05We've got $14,000 in there.
15:06We've got another $800 more in the Christmas Club.
15:09Look, we'll scrape it together.
15:12Oh, God.
15:13Okay, I got to get to the restaurant.
15:14Lynette, can you go to the bank and take care of that?
15:16Oh, sure.
15:17Okay, good.
15:22Okay, well, I'll notify the judge that you intend to post bail.
15:24Wait.
15:25Slow down.
15:26What?
15:28You're my lawyer, so anything I tell you is in confidence, right?
15:32Well, technically, I'm Porter's lawyer, so don't...
15:34Just go with me on this.
15:35There is no emergency fund.
15:38I gave that money to Ann Schilling so she'd leave town, and Tom has no idea.
15:44Okay, just so I have this straight, you paid off a potential witness to get her to flee?
15:48Hey, whose lawyer are you anyway?
15:51Again, I'm Porter's...
15:52What am I supposed to do?
15:53Where am I going to get that bail money?
15:55You could go to a bail bondsman, but if the house is collateral.
15:59No, the house is mortgaged to the teeth.
16:02Well, there's the restaurant.
16:05I guess I have no other choice.
16:08But again, this is all in the strictest confidence.
16:12Remember, you are my lawyer, not Tom's.
16:16Actually, Lynette, I'm...
16:17Shut up!
16:30So you see, it belonged to my husband's grandfather, and if I don't get it back, I'm telling you,
16:35I'm going to be in the crapper.
16:37This is a family family.
16:40If this lady doesn't find her, she'll end up in the crapper.
16:46Bernoula.
16:48Bernoula!
16:48What does that mean?
16:50Bernoula means no way.
16:52I'm sorry.
16:53Oh, please, this is important.
16:57Lei è molto attraente.
17:00So quello che stai pensanto, non lo fare.
17:03Fa lo!
17:04E vuolo che le belli.
17:08E glielo.
17:09Va bene, va bene.
17:11What?
17:12What's he saying?
17:15He'd like to watch you dance.
17:18What?
17:19On the table.
17:25Yeah, you know what?
17:27I'm going to have to call a big fat Bernoula on that one.
17:38Oh, hi, Lynette.
17:39Hey.
17:40So sorry about Porter.
17:42If there's anything that we can do.
17:44Well, actually, I wanted to borrow Edie's yellow sweater for the, uh, arraignment.
17:50Oh, yeah.
17:52Sorry, Edie's not here.
17:53Well, is it okay if I go up and get it?
18:02Yeah.
18:04Sure.
18:04Go ahead.
18:05Thanks.
18:11Please.
18:17Oh.
18:20Oh.
18:24Oh.
18:26Oh.
18:28Oh.
18:29Oh.
18:29Oh.
18:31Oh.
18:49Please, you have to leave.
18:56This isn't a good time, okay?
18:58All right, I'll come see you tomorrow.
19:02Just know that I still love you, and that'll never change.
19:22Well, let me start by saying it's so nice to see you in a social setting, Dr. Cominus.
19:27Ah, please. I insist you call me Alex now.
19:30All right, then, Alex.
19:32Oh, look at you two, sitting so far apart. Scooch over.
19:37Uh, Mom, we don't need to scooch.
19:41Well, I just want you to know if you need to scooch, Alex.
19:44I am okay with scooching and the rest of it.
19:51Uh, Mom, as much as we appreciate your tolerance, uh, we can wait until we get home to make out.
19:58Well, I just want you boys to know that I am comfortable with your lifestyle.
20:03Now, who would like a strawberry daiquiri?
20:09Are, are you expecting someone?
20:11Well, Orson and I thought it would be nice to share this special occasion with some dear friends.
20:20Bob and Lee, what are you sponsoring a float?
20:23Bree, you handled the introductions, and I will check on dinner.
20:26Bob Hunter, Lee McDermott, I would like you to meet Andrew's new life partner, Dr. Alex Cominus.
20:32Ooh, a doctor.
20:33He's a plastic surgeon.
20:34Mm-hmm. You hear that, Bob?
20:35I like my eyes the way they are.
20:37They're so touchy.
20:40Have we met?
20:42Not that I recall.
20:43No, we have. I can't think where, though.
20:46I hear the gym is a popular meeting place.
20:48No, it's not that.
20:49Oh!
20:51My mistake.
20:53I must, I must have you confused with someone else.
20:56Dinner's ready, shall we?
21:00Not so fast, but you know that guy?
21:02I can't see.
21:03He's the guy.
21:04He's the guy.
21:04He's the guy.
21:07Oh, my God. You're right. It is him.
21:08Mm-hmm.
21:20Carlos, what's wrong?
21:22Gabby, I can see them.
21:23What?
21:24I can make out colors and shapes. Everything's starting to come into focus.
21:28Oh, my God. That's wonderful. Oh.
21:32Look at all my girls.
21:34Oh, you're right. She does look like my mom.
21:36Oh, I told you.
21:37Daddy, now you can watch me dance.
21:39I know. I can't wait.
21:41Oh, it's amazing.
21:42I can make almost everything.
21:43The fireplace, our dining table.
21:47Where's the painting that we bought in Greece?
21:51Oh, I had to sell it a few months ago, so I could make the mortgage.
21:55I'm sorry.
21:56I don't care about things.
21:57I can see my family.
21:58That's what's important.
21:59Oh, really?
22:01That makes me feel so much better.
22:03I wouldn't believe all the stupid things I've been worried about.
22:06Like what?
22:07Oh, it's silly.
22:08I sold that baseball of yours.
22:11But you're right.
22:11You could see, and that's all that matters.
22:15You sold my Lou Gehrig baseball?
22:18Yeah, but it's just a thing.
22:20We don't care about things.
22:21Right, right.
22:22But it was my father's, and his father's before him.
22:26Yeah, and I know that now.
22:29But...
22:33Juanita, dance for your dad.
22:36Juanita, actually, why don't you take your sister and go to the kitchen and get some cookies?
22:42I'll be there in a minute.
22:47This is a very special day for all of us, so I'm not going to get mad.
22:53I'm just going to say that I don't know what was going through that feather head of yours,
22:57but I want that baseball back.
22:58Got it?
23:00Hey, this feather head kept this family afloat for five years.
23:03You have no idea what I had to do to keep this roof over our head.
23:06Look, there were two things that I asked you not to sell.
23:08My baseball and my watch.
23:10I didn't sell your watch.
23:10Only because you couldn't get it off my wrist, you little thief.
23:13Gabby, you lied.
23:15I want that baseball back, and you're going to get it.
23:20And you might want to lower the middle finger.
23:22I can see now, remember?
23:25Bye.
23:26Damn.
23:35Brie, that was hands down the best dinner I've ever had in my life.
23:38You are so sweet.
23:40You know, Brie is the number one caterer in Fairview.
23:43Oh, that's right.
23:45Did you do weddings?
23:47Ow.
23:48I wasn't going to say anything.
23:50Say anything about...
23:51What?
23:52Uh, nothing.
23:54Nothing.
23:57We're going to have to tell them sometime.
24:02Oh my goodness, are you two...
24:05Yes, yes.
24:07We're getting married.
24:10And I hate you.
24:14Oh my God.
24:16Come on.
24:17Hey.
24:18Wow.
24:19See how excited they are?
24:20Why would you want to keep it a secret?
24:21I am going to handle everything for this wedding.
24:24That's why.
24:25Now let me give my new son-in-law a hug.
24:28I'm going to...
24:33But out.
24:36Well, if you'll excuse me, I am going to go get a pie that you are going to love.
24:43And you two are going to help me.
24:51All right, you two, what is going on?
24:54What are you talking about?
24:55Don't give me that.
24:56You've been whispering to each other all night.
24:58You obviously know, Alex.
24:59How?
25:01It's not important.
25:02The man is going to marry my son.
25:04If there is something about him I should know, I want to hear it.
25:07Now, please.
25:12We think we saw him in an adult movie.
25:17By adult, you mean complex and sophisticated?
25:21No, we mean gay porn.
25:24What?
25:25We saw this movie, Rear Deployment.
25:27All the actors played soldiers.
25:28Bob likes uniforms, so...
25:30Oh, thank you.
25:31No, no, no.
25:31This can't possibly be true.
25:33The man is a doctor.
25:34Are you sure?
25:35Well, we might be wrong.
25:37No.
25:38We rented it last month.
25:40We paid the late charges.
25:43Trust me, that's him.
25:56I just don't think they should advertise something with a lifetime guarantee if it's going to break
26:00after four months.
26:01Or maybe you used your corkscrew as much in four months as most people do in a lifetime.
26:05Ever think of that?
26:08Your mommy lashes out at people prettier than she is.
26:11You ever notice that?
26:14Hi.
26:15Hey.
26:17Hey, Catherine.
26:18What a cute top.
26:24So, where are you guys off to?
26:26Bowling.
26:27Come on, buddy.
26:28Let's get your jacket.
26:30By the way, I don't think you're going to have any problem.
26:33I had a little talk with MJ.
26:35I'm sure you did.
26:38What is that supposed to mean?
26:40It means things would be a lot easier with MJ if you weren't talking trash about me and
26:44Mike dating.
26:45What?
26:47I don't do that.
26:48Really?
26:49MJ always liked me before, and then I start seeing Mike, and suddenly I'm taking incoming
26:54Rocky Road.
26:56All right, let's go knock over some pins.
26:58See you, ladies.
26:59Bye.
27:06What?
27:06I have never said a negative word about them dating, ever.
27:10I believe you.
27:11It's just, you don't have to say anything.
27:14It's the way you act when she's around.
27:16Kids pick up on that stuff.
27:18What do you mean, the way I act?
27:20Oh, Catherine, what a cute top.
27:23Kid translation?
27:24Have a nice time at the bowling alley with my ex, whore.
27:29Okay.
27:30It's a little uncomfortable, this whole situation.
27:34I mean, if MJ's picking up on it, how am I supposed to fix that?
27:37I didn't say anything about fixing it.
27:39Two of my friends involved in a nasty cat fight.
27:43I live for that stuff.
27:46Thanks for the corkscrew.
27:58There you go, sweetie.
28:00Was that tight enough?
28:01I guess.
28:09What is going on?
28:10Why were you on the phone so long?
28:12Um, Susan's coming.
28:14What?
28:15Why?
28:15Well, she wants MJ to see us all having a good time together.
28:18That way, he might be more accepting of you and me.
28:21I suppose it's not a terrible idea.
28:23I think it's a good idea.
28:25She feels like she's been sending the wrong signals and chose to make up for it.
28:31Well, it's nice of her to try, but just how much of a show was she planning to put on?
28:35Hey, everybody.
28:37Are we ready to have the best time ever?
28:50Don't fall down, okay?
28:52I'm not carrying your help.
28:53I'm fine.
28:54Stop worrying.
29:06Hey.
29:09Look who just got bailed out.
29:13You got a lot of balls, kid.
29:16You nail my wife.
29:17You break up my family.
29:18You burn down my business.
29:22I didn't burn down your club.
29:24And you can accuse me all you want, but I'm not going to jail.
29:29If I were you, I'd want to go there.
29:32It's a hell of a lot safer.
29:35Otherwise, someday, you'll be walking home from school or work or your buddy's house, and you'll just disappear.
29:46Poof.
29:49If they ask me about it, you know what I'm going to tell them?
29:55I was at the movies.
30:00I'm going to tell you freedom.
30:10I'm going to throw it right down the middle.
30:13Okay.
30:13No good at all.
30:14Right?
30:16They're getting along great, huh?
30:18You're welcome.
30:19Hey, I admit it.
30:20You being here does seem to be helping.
30:23You're welcome.
30:25Okay, let it go.
30:26All right.
30:30Look at him.
30:31Remember when he needed one of those little kiddie balls the size of a cantaloupe?
30:35It was getting so big.
30:37No.
30:37You know, that Colts jersey you bought him doesn't fit anymore.
30:40No.
30:42I'm going to try it.
30:47Look at that little peewee we brought back from the hospital turned into this bruiser.
30:52Mike, I need you.
30:53I got another split.
30:55What did I say about aiming the ball?
30:57I don't remember.
30:58Come show me.
31:02Yeah, I'll be right there.
31:29I'm going to try it.
31:50Hey there.
31:52Do you have a second?
32:00Now, where did you get that?
32:02Video store I will never return to.
32:05Are you aware that one of the stars of this film is...
32:09Yes.
32:09I know about Alex's movie, Mom.
32:11You do?
32:12Yeah.
32:12He told me a long time ago.
32:15He calls it the biggest mistake he's ever made.
32:18Why would he...
32:19Well, he couldn't afford the tuition to med school.
32:22And he was approached by this so-called director.
32:25And...
32:27Well...
32:28I...
32:28Anyway, I would appreciate it if you didn't let on that you know.
32:35And you're okay with this?
32:38Yeah, well...
32:40You know, I mean...
32:41We both know that I have sort of an interesting past myself.
32:45So, you know...
32:47Glass houses...
32:49Stones...
32:52Not to mention the fact that I love him.
32:56Very much.
33:02So, he's the one?
33:07Yes, Mom.
33:09Even with his sordid past, he's the one.
33:18Now, why did you bring this here?
33:21You're going to marry him.
33:23I thought he wasn't being honest with you.
33:25I wanted to protect you, so I...
33:26So, you decided to meddle in my love life?
33:30Yes.
33:35You know what, Mom?
33:38This might be about the nicest thing you've ever done for me.
33:43Where?
33:46I mean, not every boy can say that his mother's willing to rent gay porn for them.
33:52Yes, which reminds me.
33:53That needs to be back by three.
33:55Could you...
33:55Absolutely.
33:56Oh, you've got to avoid those late fees.
34:01Oh, you know, um...
34:03No, I can have Alex autograph this for you if you want.
34:07Just take it back.
34:17Oh, Mrs. Olyse, may I help you with something?
34:24Get your boss.
34:26I'm sorry.
34:41No, Julia.
34:41No, I can't.
34:42I don't know.
34:42I can have a towel.
34:42No, no.
35:07There.
35:09You got it back.
35:10Wow.
35:12Why are you limping?
35:14I love the table.
35:15Don't want to talk about it.
35:29What took you so long?
35:30I just wanted to coach Porter a little bit before the arraignment.
35:33What's he doing?
35:34He needed some time to himself.
35:36I'll meet you inside.
35:38You might want to give him a moment.
35:40I think he's pretty nervous.
35:43That's because he's Preston.
35:46What?
35:51Oh, crap.
35:57Hey, Mom.
35:58Dad.
35:59Hey, Preston.
36:01I know.
36:02Of course we know.
36:03What the hell is going on?
36:04Where's Porter?
36:06He took off.
36:07What?
36:08He was scared out of his mind.
36:10He didn't know what to do.
36:10So he left town and asked me if I'd help him give him a head start.
36:14Do you have any idea how bad this is?
36:17We had to post bail.
36:18If the judge finds out Porter skipped town, we're going to lose a lot.
36:23Guys.
36:23Guys.
36:24They're calling us.
36:25Well, you know what?
36:26He's going to find out right now because you are not going in there.
36:29I'd rather forfeit the bail than risk having two of my kids go to jail.
36:33Tom.
36:33No, Bob will just tell the judge what happened.
36:36We'll take the hit and we'll go forward.
36:37It's just money.
36:38It's not just money.
36:41What are you talking about?
36:43Hey, come on.
36:45We're up.
36:51Okay.
36:51Okay.
36:52Look.
36:56You know how you're always saying, I know what to do in a crisis?
37:00Here's what we're going to do.
37:02You.
37:02No questions.
37:04You.
37:05You're Porter now.
37:07Let's go in.
37:10Come on.
37:11Come on.
37:37You like it?
37:40It's beautiful. Where'd it come from?
37:42I bought it today. It's yours.
37:44What? We can't afford this.
37:49I sold the baseball.
37:55You never told me things have gotten so bad.
37:59You were blind and depressed.
38:02Didn't want to add to it.
38:06Thank you for taking such good care of us.
38:15I plan on spending the rest of my life making it up to you.
38:27First thing tomorrow I'm selling my watch so I can buy you some new shoes to go with that dress.
38:34You should know that watch is a knockoff. I sold the real one two years ago to get the roof
38:37fixed.
38:43So how is Catherine's foot?
38:45Well, she's kind of got a psychedelic toenail, but she'll be fine.
38:52She doesn't excuse what you did, mister.
38:56What's going on?
38:57Sweetie, if you worry that I don't like your daddy spending time with Catherine, don't be.
39:02I think it's great.
39:03But they can't be together.
39:07Why not?
39:10Because you and mommy are getting back together.
39:13What?
39:14That's what mommy said.
39:20Um, hey, I've got an idea.
39:22Why don't you go make a get well card for Catherine's foot?
39:26Okay.
39:27Good.
39:34I can totally explain this, I swear.
39:37I'm listening.
39:38It was, I don't know, about a month after you moved out.
39:42It was bedtime.
39:43I was trying to read to him, but he only wanted you.
39:47And he was crying so hard.
39:50And he kept asking me if you were ever coming back.
39:52And so I finally said maybe you would.
39:58I just didn't want him to be so sad.
40:00Oh, Susan.
40:01I didn't even think he remembered it.
40:03Well, of course he remembers it.
40:05How could you say that to him?
40:11Because we have never said it.
40:14What?
40:15We've never looked each other in the eye and said that there is no chance we are ever getting back
40:20together.
40:23Okay.
40:25Maybe we haven't, but we moved on.
40:28Did we?
40:29Susan, what are you doing?
40:30You're with Jackson now.
40:32I'm with Catherine.
40:36What are you doing?
40:39I don't know.
40:41I...
40:44You don't ever think about it.
41:01I'm gonna go check on Catherine.
41:15It's an awful thing to live in darkness, unable to see what others take for granted.
41:23But if we are lucky, the darkness lifts, and we can finally see the secret sacrifices made
41:33by our wives, the surprising progress made by our mothers, or the unintended consequences
41:47of our own actions. But there are those who prefer the darkness, because there, they see
41:57only what they choose to see.
42:01I know it must seem like I've forgotten about you, but you have to know I think about you
42:07every day. I live for you, just like always. But I have a plan.
42:17So I hope you can wait a little longer. I'll be with you soon. But first, Mike Delfino
42:25has to pay for taking you away from me, and I need just the right moment to do it. He
42:32destroyed
42:33what I love the most, and I want him to feel that hurt. I want him to lose what I
42:42lost.
42:49I'll be with you soon.
