Jesus prophesied that there would be earthquakes in various places, as well as troubles, during the 'beginning of sorrows' in Mark 13:8. After a rare 'earthquake doublet' in Venezuela and a major quake in Japan, while Europe was experiencing record heat, Dr. Thiel reminded people what Jesus prophesied in a post. An anti-Christian website scoffed and mocked Dr. Thiel's post, basically by saying such occurrences were normal and that Jesus' words in Mark 13:8 were not related. The Apostle Peter warned that there would be scoffers in the last days who would assert that things were normal while ignoring prophecies. The prophet Isaiah also warned of those who would tell prophets to not prophesy, but say "smooth things." The Bible says that God controls the weather, and His prophet Amos wrote that God uses weather matters to encourage repentance. Steve Dupuie and Dr. Thiel go over these matters and encourage listeners to believe the Bible and not be scoffers.

00:21All the time, it seems like.
00:22So, Jesus, for example, in Matthew 24, verses 7 and 8, prophesied that there would be famines and pestilences and
00:30earthquakes in various places, and these were the beginning of sorrows.
00:34And in Mark's account, Mark 13, 8, we see that Jesus prophesied troubles.
00:39It says, and there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles.
00:45These are the beginning of sorrows.
00:48And we've actually seen a lot of earthquake-related troubles this past week.
00:53I want to go over a few news reports.
00:55Here's one.
00:58In 38 seconds, on the evening of June 24, Venezuela experienced what seismologists are calling a rare earthquake doublet.
01:07Two massive earthquakes striking nearly simultaneously, the strongest that hit the country in over a century.
01:14Well, actually, it's been over 125 years.
01:16And they were 7.5 and 7.1 or 2.
01:20And then within 24 hours, Japan's northeastern coast was rocking from a 7.2 magnitude tremor.
01:30And the death toll has been going up.
01:34U.S. geological surveys predicted that there's a 40% chance of between 10,000 and 100,000 casualties for
01:43this.
01:43Right now, there's only about 1,000, they've said.
01:46But they also reported this morning, there's 51,000 people missing in Venezuela.
01:54Meanwhile, this is another news report.
01:56A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck northern California on Wednesday morning, the region's strongest since 1940.
02:06It was in a town called Willits, which is about 140 miles northeast of San Francisco.
02:12And power outages affected more than 6,000 residents across six towns there.
02:19But as I mentioned, this one in Venezuela is the strongest one they've had in over 125 years.
02:26They say that there have been thousands injured.
02:30And as I said before, more than 51,000 people are still reported missing.
02:38Those earthquakes in Venezuela are tragic.
02:41But what does that have to do with people mocking Christians?
02:48Well, shortly after I reported about this quake a couple of days ago and said that those affected were in
02:55my prayers,
02:56an apostate anti-Christian website posted some comments about me and what I wrote about.
03:03So here's some of what they said.
03:06Fresh off the Venezuela twin quakes, Crackpot Bob, that's supposed to be me,
03:13declared it was all straight out of Mark 13.8.
03:17And there will be earthquakes in various places.
03:20These are the beginning of sorrows.
03:24This mocker continues with,
03:26Never mind that the USGS, that's the United States Geological Survey,
03:31has been politely explaining for years that the only thing increasing is the number of
03:36seismometers and the speed at which we hear about disasters.
03:40Actual big earthquakes,
03:42still averaging about 16 major ones a year,
03:44just like for over a century.
03:46Some years more, some less.
03:48Normal fluctuation.
03:50The heat wave in Europe,
03:51heat records get broken every few years now.
03:56Now, that's interesting.
03:58It's not particularly brilliant, but it's interesting.
04:02If heat records get broken every few years now, as that website states,
04:07why is that not prophetic?
04:08But what about the number of seismometers leading to the increased recordings of earthquakes?
04:18Well, the increased number of seismometers has nothing to do with the devastation from the
04:24Venezuelan quakes.
04:25They'd have known that there wasn't such a thing as a seismometer.
04:28Or these other recent large quakes.
04:31And by the way,
04:32the recent record heat in Europe this week is also not usual.
04:38Of course, in my post, yes, I quoted Jesus and his prophecy.
04:42The death toll in Europe was high,
04:45and the death toll in Venezuela continues to rise.
04:48So, yes, consistent with the prophecy from Jesus,
04:53those Venezuelan quakes as well as the heat in Europe brought troubles.
04:58And furthermore, you know,
05:00this past week we've seen earthquakes in various places,
05:03which is what Jesus prophesied in Matthew 24 and Mark 13.
05:07Now, sadly,
05:09the webmaster at that anti-Christian website often wishes to be blinded by the truth.
05:14He made another post about me,
05:16which I exposed for false statements.
05:18He said I didn't have certain degrees and certificates and awards and all that stuff.
05:21And I put them all up online.
05:23You can see,
05:24just all nonsense.
05:26Sadly,
05:27that webmaster and other anti-Christian deceivers continue to pour forth lies consistent with prophecies
05:34of the last days that the Apostle Paul,
05:37who warned that,
05:38quote,
05:39and this is in 2 Timothy 3.13,
05:41evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse deceiving and being deceived.
05:50So that website,
05:51through their deception,
05:53is also fulfilling prophecies?
05:57Sadly,
05:58yes.
05:59Consider also that the prophet Isaiah,
06:02in Isaiah 30,
06:03verse 10,
06:03warned of those who,
06:05who say to the seers,
06:06do not see,
06:07and the prophets,
06:08don't prophesy to us right things,
06:12speak to us smooth things,
06:14prophesy deceits.
06:17Yet many of that anti-true Christian website are like that.
06:21I said true Christian because the webmaster actually claims to be a Christian.
06:26Yet he posts false statements,
06:27derides the truth about church history,
06:29and a lot of prophetic matters.
06:31Now,
06:32the anti-Christian comments at that site,
06:34and discounting of things like these troubles that have been happening,
06:38also brought to mind something that the Apostle Peter wrote.
06:41I'm going to read a fair stretch here from 2 Peter 3,
06:45starting in verse 1.
06:47And again,
06:48this will also be from the New King James Version of the Bible.
06:52Peter wrote,
06:52Beloved,
06:54I now write to you the second epistle,
06:56in both of which,
06:57to stir up your pure mind by way of reminder,
07:01that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets,
07:06and the commandment of us,
07:08the apostles of the Lord and Savior.
07:10Knowing this first,
07:11that scoffers will come in the last days.
07:15Okay?
07:16They're scoffing these prophecies.
07:18Walking according to their own lusts.
07:21Because they hate the true church,
07:23they want to just say stuff about it.
07:25Atheists follow that category as well.
07:29And they are saying,
07:31where is the promise of his coming?
07:32For since the fathers fell asleep,
07:34all things continued as they were from the beginning of creation.
07:37In other words,
07:39everything,
07:40they're going to say everything is just normal.
07:42None of this stuff really counts.
07:44Verse 5.
07:45For this they willingly forget,
07:48that by the word of God,
07:49the heavens were of old,
07:51and the earth standing out of the water and in the water,
07:53by which the world that was then existed perished,
07:56being flooded with water.
07:58But the heavens and the earth,
08:00which are now preserved by the same word,
08:02are preserved for fire,
08:04until the day of judgment,
08:05and perdition of ungodly men.
08:08And these mockers are ungodly men.
08:11Some of them are women too,
08:12but most of them are not.
08:13There were men.
08:15Verse 8.
08:17Peter reminds everybody,
08:19but beloved,
08:19don't forget this one thing.
08:21That with the Lord,
08:22one day is a thousand years.
08:24A thousand years is one day.
08:26He said,
08:26remember that,
08:27because you can read that in the Psalms.
08:30Verse 9.
08:31The Lord is not slack concerning his promises,
08:34a promise,
08:35to some count slackness.
08:36It's long-suffering toward us,
08:38not willing that any should perish,
08:40but that all should come to repentance.
08:42So God has a plan.
08:44The time frame is to maximize those,
08:47the amount of people who will be saved.
08:49See,
08:50people mock God because of this,
08:52but that's the plan.
08:56Anyway,
08:56verse 10.
08:57But the day of the Lord will come to see for the night,
08:59which the heavens will pass away with a great noise.
09:02Elements will melt with fervent heat,
09:03both the earth and the works,
09:05and it will be burned up.
09:07Therefore,
09:08since all things will be dissolved,
09:11what manner of person ought you ought to be in holy conduct and godliness?
09:14In other words,
09:15you know what's going to happen,
09:16so do what God says.
09:18Looking for and hastening the coming day of God,
09:21because which the heavens will be dissolved.
09:25Nevertheless,
09:26we,
09:26according to his promise,
09:27look to the new heavens and new earth,
09:29which righteousness dwells.
09:31Verse 14.
09:32Therefore,
09:34beloved,
09:34looking forward to those things,
09:36be diligent to be found by him in peace without spot and blameless,
09:41considering that the long suffering of our Lord is salvation.
09:45Anyway,
09:45just as Apostle Peter prophesied,
09:48there are scoffers who declare what's going on is normal,
09:50not prophetic.
09:52Back in 2009,

10:07The world is actually in a berserk transition,
10:10as the real age of peace is not yet here.

10:20we've had record-breaking heat,
10:21other odd weather problems.
10:26And as far as Europe goes with heat this week,
10:30it says record-breaking temperatures have sweltered much in Europe,
10:33Western Europe this week,
10:35as the latest heat wave of the year nears its peak.
10:39France witnessed its hottest day since measurements began on Tuesday,
10:44June 23rd,
10:46the National Weather Service,
10:47Tateo,
10:48France,
10:49recording a blistering 44.3 degrees Celsius in Pozos.
10:54Now,
10:54by the way,
10:55that's 111.74 degrees Fahrenheit.
10:59Okay.
11:00It says,
11:01well,
11:01other regions are under red alert baked by unprecedented highs.
11:07This is from Euronews.
11:09The heat wave in Western Europe has resulted in widespread chaos.
11:14And the heat's been deadly,
11:15by the way.
11:18As for yesterday,
11:21Spain registered 327 heat-related deaths.
11:26Another article says,
11:29also from Euronews,
11:32that Europe's been hit by record high temperatures and heat wave
11:36expected to last for further two weeks across the continent.
11:41Spain's experienced record-breaking June temperatures.
11:46with several national local records broken.
11:51And this is,
11:53they've had been problems actually since May.
11:56And these heat and weather issues should serve as a wake-up call.
12:10Well,
12:10the Bible says God controls the weather.
12:13And in Amos 3,
12:14starting verse 6,
12:15it says,
12:17if there's calamity in the city,
12:18will not the Lord have done it?
12:20Surely the Lord does nothing unless he reveals his secret to his servants,
12:24the prophets.
12:34Yeah,
12:34the Bible basically says of weather-related blessings for obedience
12:38and weather-related curses for disobedience.
12:41Weather's not as random as people want to believe.
12:43The Bible actually warns that God uses weather to send a message to people,
12:48to repent.
12:49And in Amos chapter 4,
12:51for example,
12:53starting verse 7,
12:55the word of God says,
12:56I withheld rain from you.
12:58And I made it rain in one city,
13:00and I withheld it for another one.
13:02One part was rain on,
13:03the other part it didn't.
13:04And people wandered to the cities to drink water,
13:08but they weren't satisfied.
13:10Yet you haven't returned to me,
13:11says the Lord.
13:13Verse 9,
13:14I blasted you with blight and mildew
13:16when your gardens increased,
13:17your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees.
13:20The locusts devoured them.
13:21Yet you haven't returned to me,
13:23says the Lord.
13:32Scoffers ignore what God prophesied about weather.
13:35They don't want to repent.
13:36They want to just blow it all off.
13:38And the Apostle Peter warned about that.
13:41Okay?
13:42Hopefully,
13:42you've not been infected
13:44by the disregard of people
13:46like the anti-Christian website.
13:50To disregard the words of Jesus
13:52and the prophecies of the Bible.
13:54Sadly,
13:55most now will ignore weather changes
13:57and simply believe that weather changes
13:59all the time,
14:00they don't have anything to do with God
14:02or prophecy or disobeying them.
14:04However,
14:04the Bible shows that weird,
14:06severe and odd weather patterns
14:07are part of the warning message from God.
14:10Hopefully,
14:11all are going to pay attention
14:12or more will pay attention
14:13to those messages.
