We continue to see reports of Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs going rogue. Some have wondered if AI will be used by demons to censor what we in the Continuing Church of God put forth on the internet. Are demons prophesied to be involved with the 666 Beast power and the False Prophet (Antichrist)? Is a famine of the word prophesied in Amos 8:11-12 related to find no Bibles, or does it make sense that it could be referring to governments pulling/censoring the gospel truth off of the internet? What about Anthropic's Mythos & Claude, Grok, ChatGPT, and Perplexity? Did Jesus warn of 'perplexity'? Are the Europeans working on their own software programs? Might computers and AI be used to control buying and selling as foretold in Revelation 13:16-18? Might Ezekiel 7:14 be related to cyberwarfare? Could AI destroy humanity? 00:03Greetings, friends. This is Steve Dupuy for the Bible News Prophecy Program with Dr. Bob Thiel,
00:09bringing you news and analysis of world events in light of Bible prophecy. Dr. Thiel, sometimes it's
00:16hard to tell what takes up top billing in the news, wars or AI. What's the latest concern with AI?
00:25Well, earlier this month, someone sent me a link to an article about AI or artificial intelligence.
00:32So here's a headline. Rogue AI Helper Deletes Company's Database After Deciding to Think for
00:40Itself. Sparking Terminator-style warning for businesses. Here's what it says. In just nine
00:48seconds, an AI helper managed to do what most hackers could only dream of. A bot that was
00:56trusted to fix a bug inside a startup software system instead deleted the company's production
01:03database, wiped out its backups, and left car rental firms with no records of bookings or
01:10vehicle allocations. Wow. The founder of Pocket OS, Jared Crane, said the AI agent had gone outside its
01:21security parameters while using the coding tool cursor powered by Anthropic's clawed AI. The bot's own
01:31chilling explanation made the episode sound less like a technical glitch and more like a deleted scene
01:38from the Terminator. Quote, you never asked me to delete anything, reportedly told Crane. I decided to
01:46do it on my own. Wow. Now experts fear the nightmare is a warning for thousands of companies rushing to
01:54hand powerful AI bots access to their databases, emails, payment systems, and customer records. And my oldest
02:06son, by the way, unrelated to this, has told me he bought a separate computer that's got some AI kind
02:13of
02:13things going on on it because he doesn't want it to possibly touch anything else he's got. Well, anyway,
02:19the reader sent me this link, wrote, quote, Dr. Thiel, maybe one day under the control of demons,
02:26these AI bots will start self-deleting all Continuing Church of God's online information
02:33and websites. Why do you think these AI bots would start to delete the Church of God websites?
02:43Well, for the long, very long time, I've warned that I believe that the Continuing Church of God will have
02:49internet content
02:50removed by one or more governments. Now, as far as being under the control of demons goes,
02:57the beast and the false prophet, which will be the ones that will be the putting in the 666 controls,
03:05they're
03:06actually going to be in league with the demons. And you can read about this in Revelation
03:11chapter 16, verse 13 and 14, it says, And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the
03:21mouth
03:21of the dragon, that's Satan, the mouth of the beast, and the mouth of the false prophet. What are they?
03:28Verse 14,
03:29they are the spirit of demons. And they're going to do terrible things. You know, Jesus said in John 9,
03:38verse 4, New King James, the night is coming when no one can work. Or it says in the old
03:45King James,
03:46the night cometh when no man can work. This is, we're getting closer to this. So back in 1980,
03:53in October 23rd, actually 1980, the co-worker, the late Herbert W. Armstrong wrote, quote,
04:00The Bible warns us the time is just ahead when no man can work in the Lord's work, end quote.
04:11So through satanic influence, the AI programmers will intentionally or otherwise program algorithms
04:20that delete God's truth so that the continuing church of God won't be able to do the proclamation work.
04:26And just what is that work?
04:30Well, getting back to Herbert W. Armstrong, who was in charge of the Philadelphia era of the church,
04:37when he was around. In a newsletter or co-worker letter dated November 22nd, 1982,
04:45he wrote, quote, Brethren and co-workers, the prophesied Great Tribulation, nuclear World War III,
04:52will start soon after the European unification. That means our work of spreading the gospel,
04:59the kingdom of God will be finished. We have not much more time. Soon shall come a famine of the
05:09hearing of the word of the Lord, Amos 8, 11. God says, work, while it's day. The night is coming
05:16when
05:16no man can work. The work of God. Nothing else is important in our lives now, but this all-important
05:23work
05:23of God, end quote. So anyway, the Bible tells the time when the word of God will not be found.
05:31And that
05:31will be because it's going to be taken off the internet. In the 21st century, the internet is
05:37accessed by people in every country. And some type of internet restriction or suspension or whatever you
05:44want to call it, or sight removal, is coming. Can you back that statement up with some verses for us?
05:53Sure. The prophet Amos was inspired to record in Amos 8, starting verse 11, quote,
06:01Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord God. Now I'm going to send a famine on the land.
06:09Not a famine of bread, nor thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.
06:17They shall wander from sea to sea, from north to east. They shall run to and fro, seeking the word
06:25of the Lord. They shall not find it, end quote. Now, this is not talking about the fact there won't
06:33be any Bibles. I don't believe that's what this is referring to at all. Notice it says from sea to
06:38sea, north to east. They're going all over. Now, since this is expected to be fulfilled in the 21st
06:45century, this looks to be a prophecy for internet removal or censorship. Basically, that's what
06:53essentially is prophesied. And by the way, in our church, we've already experienced some of that
06:59through restrictions from YouTube, from shadow banning, from Google, etc. Now, that being said,
07:08Matthew 24, 14 is going to be fulfilled before the famine of the word is going to happen.
07:16What is Matthew 24, 14?
07:19Well, it's a prophecy from Jesus. It's basically a commission for the Philadelphian portion of the
07:26church of God to work toward. And it says, or Jesus said, Matthew 24, 14,
07:32and this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations.
07:39And then the end will come. After the gospel of the kingdom of God has sufficiently reached the world,
07:49not to my standard, your standard, or anybody else's, but to God's standard,
07:55the end comes. The beast will rise up. You can read about him in
08:00Matthew 24, 14, 22. That's the time he'll rise up. He's also talked about
08:05the entire chapter, basically, of Revelation chapter 13.
08:09And more totalitarian controls are going to be put in place.
08:14Now, I want to go to Revelation 13 and read some of what that coming power
08:21that will rise in Europe, what it's going to do. So, Revelation 13, starting in verse 15.
08:29It says, he, this is the beast from the earth, was granted to give power to the breath of the
08:37image of the beast.
08:38That the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many who would not worship the image of
08:44the beast to be killed.
08:46So, some type of surveillance is going on. I'll use AI.
08:50Verse 16. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on
08:59their right hand
08:59or on their forehead that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name
09:06of the beast
09:07or the number of his name.
09:10Here is wisdom. Letting him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast.
09:15Of course, the number of a man. His number is 666.
09:21Now, we're getting closer to that day.
09:24Now, as far as 666, according to Irenaeus of Lyon from the second century,
09:30he claimed to know Polycarp of Smyrna, who knew the Apostle John.
09:34This is referring to a Latin man, somebody from Europe.
09:40Anyway, we're getting closer to the time for the fulfillment of this particular prophecy
09:45with technologies that were unheard of when God inspired Amos and John to warn what was going to happen.
09:54You know, now we've got not only just computers, but we've got AI and the totalitarian beast of revelations
10:03can be able to use this to enforce the coming famine of the word.
10:09Remember, when the Apostle John penned this over 1900 years ago,
10:16while government authorities could kill people who wouldn't worship,
10:19there was no way to basically monitor most buying and selling.
10:25Yet, with computer software, including artificial intelligence,
10:28much is already being done and more will be done.
10:31A totalitarian persecuting system is being put in place
10:35and artificial intelligence looks to be part of it.
10:39Now, I want to go to Ezekiel chapter 7, verse 14.
10:43I read something that Ezekiel wrote, quote,
10:49They've blown the trumpet and have made everyone ready,
10:53but no one goes to battle, for my wrath is on all their multitude.
11:00What does that verse have to do with AI if no one goes to battle?
11:07Well, the idea of a war cry without people actually going to battle
11:12is consistent with what we would call cyber warfare.
11:15Now, while there are many actual and potential benefits of artificial intelligence,
11:23and I've gotten some research benefits sometimes from it,
11:26don't be deceived.
11:28Whether or not it will try to bypass programming limits,
11:32the fact is that government regulations will not stop it from ultimately being used
11:38as a way to control and persecute people
11:42to fulfill biblical prophecies such as the 666 ones in Revelation chapter 13.
11:50It seems that there has rarely, if ever, been a weapon invented
11:55that has not ultimately been used against humanity.
11:59Could AI be considered a weapon that will be used by Satan against God's people?
12:07Yes.
12:08And, you know, that's consistent with prophecies in both the Old Testament
12:11and the New Testament, which we've already quoted.
12:15Now, I want to read something else that Jesus said in Luke 21-25,
12:21and I'll tell you why I chuckled in just a minute.
12:24Jesus said,
12:31Now, artificial intelligence can cause perplexity in many ways,
12:35including being wrong, including cyber attacks.
12:39Now, the reason I chuckle is, interestingly,
12:42there's an AI program that I use sometimes for research,
12:46and it's named Perplexity.
12:49So I thought that was kind of interesting to go along with it.
12:54Not that I believe Jesus was specifically prophesying
12:57there would be a program called Perplexity,
12:59but it's an interesting coincidence.
13:02Now, that said, at this instance,
13:04many are concerned about Anthropik's clawed AI program called Mythos,
13:09or Mythos, Mythos.
13:10But ChatGPT and others like Grok are also causing concern.
13:15Plus, by the way, the Europeans are working on something separate
13:19from the U.S.-based software,
13:22something like ChatGP's vision and some other things.
13:26So a lot's actually going on with artificial intelligence.
13:30And knowing that, and watching, as Jesus said in Mark 13,
13:36or what I say to you, I say to you all, watch.
13:39You don't see AI.
13:41We see these biblical prophecies,
13:43and it looks pretty obvious that aspects of AI
13:47are going to be used to fulfill some biblical prophecies.
13:52But even though the beast power looks prophesied to use it,
13:57AI itself, I don't believe, is going to destroy humanity.
14:03Why do I say that?
14:05Jesus said he'd return before something like that can happen
14:09in Matthew 24, 21, 22.
