00:00In Venezuela, donations of humanitarian aid for families affected by the double earthquake that hit the nation continue.
00:06From Caracas, our colleague Michelle Ramirez tells us the details.
00:11In the city of Caracas, more than 10 collection centers have been set up to receive donations from Venezuelan citizens.
00:21One of the main collection centers is located at Parque del Oeste Ali Primera,
00:25where young people and adults come to make donations and assist those affected by the disaster with clothing, food and
00:31medicine.
00:36The facilities of the Central University of Venezuela join the effort to collect various essential items and household goods with
00:43the sole aim of serving those most in need.
00:47I'm sorry. I'm a little… like everyone else.
00:54If there's one thing that defines us Venezuelans, it's that we're very close-knit.
00:59And it's time for everything to work out.
01:03Let's get through this quickly.
01:05Let's call on people to come.
01:07Even if it's just a little, every little bit adds up.
01:13And let's pray a lot.
01:14The Park Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda in the eastern part of the city and the grounds of the iconic Esfera
01:21de Soto accepted donations to be transported to La Guayra State.
01:24We came to help anyone who needs it.
01:27There are many motorcyclists and riders of both high and low-displacement motorcycles who are heading to La Guayra, El
01:33Junquito, and all the affected areas of Greater Caracas, including the hospitals.
01:38We are sending medical supplies, first-aid kits, and kits to rescue people trapped in La Guayra, in the buildings
01:44where they are stuck.
01:45And we are also sending food and provisions.
01:47A network of volunteers joined this effort at the Polidro de Caracas to distribute humanitarian aid in the most vulnerable
01:54areas.
01:55This is a huge need we all share, both in terms of personnel and commitment, and with a clear sense
02:00of duty.
02:01As health care workers, we feel obligated to be here.
02:04If you go in your own vehicle, they'll ask for your vehicle registration and your ID.
02:09And they'll give you this reflective vest so you can help out.
02:13They're mostly giving priority to medical personnel, transportation workers, and anyone involved in rescue efforts.
02:20These efforts highlight the spirit of solidarity that characterizes the Venezuelan people, as well as their resilience, while rescue operations
02:27to save lives from under the rubble continue.
