Do you believe there were some moves the Red Wings and Steve Yzerman missed out on?
Transcript
00:03well yesterday was tough as a red wing fan felt like everybody else was out on recess having a
00:08good time and we're sitting in detention so what happened a lot happened i mean i felt like every
00:17time i checked my phone a different team in the mushy middle was making a move to try to shake
00:21things up and i don't know that i love every move that was made yesterday in the nhl and i'm
00:25not
00:25there was effort and teams were clearly willing to do some stuff and wheel and deal the sharks
00:31they had pick number nine from ottawa ottawa flips it for eckland so they're not just going to do a
00:37futures only thing now the sharks have picks two and nine i know tom's been pushing san jose for
00:44larkin i don't know what their plans are the capitals add jordan kairu um they gave up pick 16 and
00:52a and
00:53mcmichael the blackhawks stunner move of the day they gave up the number four pick for bow and
00:58byram the devils moved nemick former number two overall pick for a couple future first top 10
01:04protected there were moves being made left and right yesterday and do you think the sharks move
01:09opens the door for them to be interested in dylan larkin i think they should be interested in dylan
01:18larkin okay and i think they have the pieces to get a deal done for dylan larkin
01:23so i mean obviously more questions does dylan larkin want to be a san jose shark i don't know
01:27right but if i'm detroit i think there's some some appeal i'd actually prefer michael misa who's the
01:34number two pick they made a year ago who plays center as the centerpiece of a trade and they
01:38could keep number two give me misa nine and let's work something out but larkin has to want to go
01:42there right steve has to be aggressively trying to get this deal done and it sounds like he's more
01:47than content to let the market come to him meanwhile everybody else is slinging trades and
01:52making stuff happen well i'm sure i mean i'm sure on some level the market will come to him because
01:57dylan larkin will be a coveted player and i know we've talked about him being a a number two center
02:03uh you know being all of these things but players of his caliber at that position don't enter the market
02:12very often nope so yeah i think i think on some level he can let the market somewhat come to
02:19him
02:19but at some point he's going to have to aggressively pursue options they're noticeably quiet teams are
02:24feeling a little more hey the draft's coming up this week let's start wheeling and dealing wings
02:28noticeably quiet well it's i know you feel left out but it's it's it we always knew it's gonna be
02:38a
02:38wait and see game it's not like steve eisenman is all of a sudden flip the switch and be ultra
02:43aggressive in an offseason no but maybe that's if i could just sum it up the best he's been too
02:49patient his entire tenure here in detroit so yesterday was a microcosm of your frustrations
02:54with steve and that's maybe what it is i don't know that any of these deals directly are going to
02:58be deals that they could have or should have made my point just is well steve's gonna take his time
03:02because steve always takes his time and other moves are going to be made that we aren't making
03:05right that we're not involved with
