A man was killed in a horrific road accident near Agra Cut on Sunday night after a truck allegedly hit his motorcycle from behind. The bike became lodged under the truck and was dragged for nearly three kilometres before catching fire, police said.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Intesab, son of Nazir Ahmed and a resident of Bhujpura in the Kotwali area.

According to police, Intesab was travelling on a Splendor motorcycle along the highway via Agra Cut at around 9 pm. As he was turning towards Delhi, a truck allegedly struck his motorcycle from behind near Agra Cut in the Sasni Gate area.

The impact was so severe that Intesab died on the spot. His motorcycle became trapped underneath the truck and was dragged for several kilometres before bursting into flames.

The fire was eventually brought under control near Gonda Bridge in the Roravar area with the help of the truck driver and local residents.

Following the accident, personnel from Madrak and Sasni Gate police stations rushed to the scene. Traffic movement in the area was affected for some time, and police reportedly dealt with jurisdiction-related issues during the initial response.

Sasni Gate Station House Officer Rajveer Parmar said the victim fell at the accident site while the motorcycle remained stuck under the truck and was dragged away.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and a case has been registered against the truck driver. Further investigation is underway.

Family members said Mohammad Intesab belonged to a large family with six brothers and one sister and was the fifth among the siblings.
