A mobile phone snatching suspect died after collapsing while attempting to flee in Bengaluru's Cubbonpet area on Friday.

According to police, two men riding a scooter allegedly snatched a mobile phone and sped away from the scene.

During the chase, a worker reportedly threw a sack at the scooter in an attempt to stop them. However, the suspects continued their escape.

Moments later, one of the suspects, identified as Junaid, suddenly collapsed on a footpath and died.

Police said Junaid had a pre-existing heart condition and is suspected to have suffered a cardiac arrest while fleeing.

The second suspect, identified as Arbaaz, has been taken into custody for questioning.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the sequence of events and ascertain the exact cause of death.
