Fresh details have emerged in the fatal hit-and-run case involving a 17-year-old boy accused of running over a nurse in Hyderabad's Asif Nagar area.

Police said the minor, along with two friends—another minor and an adult—had planned a joyride to a farmhouse in Moinabad after hiring an SUV. Investigators revealed the vehicle had travelled barely 300 metres from the pickup point when it allegedly struck 42-year-old nurse Faheem Unissa, who was on her way to work.

According to police, the trio fled the scene after the collision, returned the SUV and allegedly claimed the damage was caused by a minor accident. Unaware that the victim had later died during treatment, they travelled to Moinabad by bus and spent the day at a farmhouse.

Initially booked for causing death by negligence, the case was later upgraded to culpable homicide not amounting to murder following the victim's death. Police said those who facilitated access to the vehicle will also face legal action.

The two minors are being produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, while further investigation is underway.
