00:00Well, here we are with the current setup as the tropical rainstorm, Arthur continues to churn, moving east here.
00:07Here, you look at the past six hours or so, and the greatest risk of flooding, and also tornadoes for
00:12that matter,
00:12is generally going to be along and south of the track of the center of circulation, so it's already beginning
00:18to move through central Alabama.
00:20And there's enhanced wind shear here in the low levels of the atmosphere south of the center of the storm,
00:25so that's the area of concern for tornadoes here. There could be perhaps a few more tornadoes in this general
00:31area.
00:32That's one issue, but also the flooding, obviously a huge concern associated with the storm.
00:38So widespread areas of flooding, but localized flash flooding that becomes even worse in a small scale,
00:44will be a big concern through the night along and south of Interstate 20.
00:49Take a look at these maroon zones here, and this is where we've seen tremendous amounts of rain
00:54in those two areas, based on radar data.
00:5830 inches of rain has been our accurate local storm action.
01:01We basically have had that, according to one neighborhood backyard thermometer weather station there,
01:07taking a look at the rain gauge reports.
01:09So life-threatening flooding remains a concern through this evening, and tonight we've seen huge amounts of rain.
01:14South Pearl River County, Mississippi, there are reports of and concerns of a possible dam failure there.
01:20So again, we're still dealing with some heavy rain. Widespread 12 to 18 inches there for some,
01:25and the center of Arthur will race east. We're still facing the hazards associated with Arthur
01:31through tomorrow into Georgia, South Carolina, maybe even North Florida as well.
01:36But the greatest risk here is going to be in Georgia and the Carolinas.
01:39And then this will be moving out to sea eventually, but moisture lingers as the tail of the front wavers
01:45near the Gulf Coast.
01:46Even into the weekend, unfortunately, we're not going to dry out anytime too fast.
