00:00to the moto James Stewart well while earlier I was saying family view basically anybody outside
00:05of the Lawrence they needed to stop these two brothers they would be so it's two Hondas in
00:10red two orange KTMs Plessinger on the seven oh no and just like that Hunter Lawrence is down
00:15ah bummer for Hunter that's a tough position to be in opening lap they put a little bit of water
00:20down so easily easily that can happen but that's gonna be costly for him because he came into this
00:26moto only one point ahead of his brother after the penalty so Hunter's got to get the work he
00:31has the red plate of the bike as he was the championship leader coming in that is an
00:35uncharacteristic mistake from the very consistent 96 so he's got work to do around the top 10 right now
00:46trying to see where Hayes running about seventh right now so
00:53and shout out you see in green Garrett Marchbanks a lot of penalties to other riders in that moto
00:58Marchbanks is the one that got credited with third in the first race earlier today which is his second
01:04best finish ever in this class he could even be in contention to win the race depending on how it
01:09unfolds but right now Jett Lawrence doing what he does a lot of concern for him coming into this
01:16championship off of a very serious foot and ankle injury was not his normal self at the opening
01:23round two weeks ago but he won last weekend and he's in control early today yeah if you're Jett you
01:30know the one thing if we heard him on the podium he said that you know it wasn't his foot
01:34he just
01:34needed to find a flow but he kind of found it the end of that first photo so the scary
01:37part for all
01:38these other guys is that he comes out a little bit different track and he finds that flow a lot
01:43earlier and he's going to find it if you give him this gap as he got about two and a
01:47half seconds
01:47over Lucas Kunin so Kunin the 19 year old leading the MXGP championship based in Europe what a
01:54performance jumping into racing in pro motocross in America for the first time now there is Hunter
01:59Lawrence who went down to seventh yeah you're going to watch some of the different lines Hunter
02:04Lawrence as he should have a run up RJ right here RJ starts to close that gap RJ's been around
02:10the
02:10block before but Hunter had a great run tried again and I believe Hayden Deegan's right in front
02:15of both of them so the 96 understands I need to get moving and it's that same section that he
02:20went
02:21down early you notice that he didn't go inside there he followed RJ to the outside and that to me
02:25believes that that corner has to be a lot wetter than we can see on TV and so it's just
02:30too tough
02:30right now yeah it's too tough otherwise he would have just dove to the inside he probably would have
02:34that pass made so so checking in on Hayden Deegan here he's battling his teammate Webb on the number
02:39two Deegan has that blue and yellow gear and just ahead of Hampshire on the 24 two battles starting
02:47to collide now this Hampshire Lawrence battle and then Webb and Deegan right ahead of them that's
02:53fourth through seventh yeah if you're Hunter Lawrence what you want you know hey Deegan's gonna be upset
02:58after what happened the penalty because he felt hey fair game right everybody else is taking it
03:03so he's probably gonna be upset as he's able to get around Cooper Webb I think Webb waved a bot
03:07so
03:07Webb take a hand off on that corner not sure maybe if he was getting a little tight in the
03:11arms or if he
03:12was a wave and there goes Lawrence yeah I probably Cooper's pulling a tear off got crossbred and nothing
03:18left okay oh Hunter Lawrence not messing around he's going for two passes now and he has it
03:24yeah great moves by Hunter Lawrence about to make that pass you see how difficult it is for
03:30guys to get around and actually Hunter over the last couple laps he's made quite a bit of passes
03:34earlier we're saying Garrett Marshmakes is right in front of him so him to be able to get back up
03:38now
03:38he's in fifth Hayden Deegan right in front of him
03:43Epshire the veteran out of Florida on the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna and then a big pack back here
03:49that is what motocross is known for 40 riders on the track and there are battles all over it
03:56and Hunter Lawrence wants to get into another one he has cleared Webb and Hampshire he wants
04:01to get to Deegan Plessig are running strong in third
04:07yeah you can see these guys trying to tiptoe especially this next boat you see Hunter Lawrence
04:12start losing the front end and so they fixed some of these sections to buy you know clean it up
04:16there's all the rust but when they do that they bring all that blue stuff back on top so partly
04:21why Hunter Lawrence probably went down really really slippery racetrack right now Jorge Prado in orange
04:28on the 26th making moves he's all over Webb you know these guys ain't strangers go back to the supercross
04:36they've had some uh some incidents let's just say the least so Cooper Webb I don't think you'll be
04:41raising the hand up to let Jorge buy this moto almost had another one right there front wheel
04:46from Prado awfully close to the leg of the number two of Webb veteran out of North Carolina
04:54and there's Prado the Spaniard found a line to the inside
04:58ah what a move by Jorge Cooper stood it up in that corner Jorge doped it inside
05:05interesting scenario for Prado multi-time champ in that MXGP series
05:09start of the year with a very strong second place finish last week bike problems he's now way back
05:15in the championship you would think he'd want to rally to get back in that first moto was
05:20good not great let's see if he can get a little closer to the front on that 26.
05:25yeah hopefully Jorge continues to do that because clearly he he's still good enough to win these
05:30races and fight for this championship but at the same time and he's like he that he goes down he
05:36has
05:36that fight mechanical last weekend bad start on the outside and sometimes his rotting not necessarily
05:42indicative on how his like his results don't stop matching his rotting so hopefully he can continue
05:47that attitude to keep fighting just remember how good he's rotting because I hate to see him kind of
05:52bow out this early because it's something incident March banks on that green Kawasaki making moves again
06:00he is the one credited with third in the first race earlier today due to all the penalties
06:05he's not done going after Prado yeah we saw Garrett a lot of times last year in the 250 class
06:11and we
06:12just seem to come out of nowhere using these outside lines throwing those legs out and really
06:16railing just uh using that momentum around the race track and I think the way this track is being
06:21slippery it might help a rider like Garrett using these outside because of his long leg he's kind of
06:26used that to balance so far third that first moto and top ten this next one it might be a
06:31good day for
06:32Kawasaki which they need yeah they lost his teammate Chase Sexton a big crash yesterday so Sexton not
06:40competing today but March Banks carrying the flag for the boys in green will yeah and those boys in
06:46green over that Monster Energy Kawasaki have been working incredibly hard Jason to get both Chase Sexton
06:52who you were talking about there out with that crash yesterday and his teammate Garrett March Banks on screen
06:57now getting the bike where they needed to be Garrett told me I have never tested so much in my
07:03entire
07:03life and it was a good feeling for him for that finally to be coming together and it's showing in
07:08the
07:08results and the team spoke to me and said hey this is us yes but it's a combination too this
07:13is about
07:13Garrett in his comfortable place they're referring to him racing outdoors here in pro motorbike just in
07:18his confidence building they can see it it's boosting the team morale it's boosting Garrett's morale and these
07:24results just keep building off the back of it and the team will have said they're very impressed with
07:29the testing abilities of March Banks James you can speak to that all the riders will try different
07:33parts of the motorcycles but not everyone's created equal as far as understanding what the bike is doing
07:39and what they need yeah absolutely I mean we just watched the uh got a shot of Lucas and then
07:44Sasha Kunin and they're twins but they're completely different personalities on how they ride a motorcycle so
07:50you can imagine that as teammates yeah you can help each other out but Garrett Ross a lot different
07:54than Chase so maybe what doesn't work for Chase works for Garrett and I think it's important for the team
07:59to keep that morale up to let Garrett know we're here believing in you just like they believe in Chase
08:05in each one of these riders after the results come the team will get better the bike will get better
08:10and Garrett's now starting to believe after he's going up against Jorge Prada trying to make that pass
08:15for seventh spot great racing here enjoy the sounds of the SMX world championship
08:54so
09:28It's nice to see them come over here and come out the U.S.
10:11It's nice to see them come over here.
10:34This is Hayden Deegan, the young phenom of pro motocross in America, making moves.
10:40So he was penalized in the first moto today.
10:43That gave him the 11th position on the start grid, the 11th gate pick.
10:47Bad start.
10:49During the break, made a move on Aaron Plessinger.
10:51That will move him up to third.
10:53The 20-year-old, the Monster Energy rider check-in with some of the athletes on the track right now.
11:00Deegan's in third.
11:01There is Jett Lawrence in the lead.
11:04Stretching to about four seconds over Lucas Kunin.
11:07Deegan 13 seconds back.
11:09That check-in of the Monster Energy back riders.
11:11You've got Deegan third.
11:12March Banks running well.
11:14He is in eighth right now.
11:15Cooper Webb back to ninth.
11:16Here is the leader, Jett Lawrence.
11:18Injured or not, 100% or not.
11:22Figuring out ways to get it done each weekend.
11:25Yeah, Jett looks, to me, a little bit better.
11:28This photo, you've got to assume that.
11:30He's probably a little bit more warmed up.
11:31Figured out that track, that last lap.
11:32And since Lucas has not put too much pressure on him, he's able to explore and run these lines.
11:38We'll say, great ride by Hayden Deegan.
11:41Oh, and it goes to my point on how slippery this racetrack is.
11:45And I think that's why you get that cat and mouse where guys are so close and then they just
11:49lose it.
11:50Simple mistake like that, Hayden Deegan almost goes down, but saves it.
11:56Plessinger, the cowboy, as the fans call him here.
11:59He is a wild man off the track.
12:01It's so fun, so friendly.
12:03Every rider signs autographs at these races.
12:05They usually have a table with their autographs stocked.
12:07He usually walks out beside the truck to take selfies, get a little closer to the fans.
12:12Saw him having a great time this afternoon, even though he's riding with sore ribs.
12:16Still in a great mood.
12:17But how long can he hang on to fourth?
12:20Because the number seven is going to have to deal with Hunter Lawrence, who's closing in.
12:24Yeah, Aaron, it's good to see him up here.
12:26I took my kids to Daytona this year and they saw Aaron.
12:28They literally almost jumped out of the truck trying to get his autograph.
12:31I'm not being the most popular seven in my house.
12:34That was your racing number.
12:35That was it.
12:35So I was number seven.
12:37I let Aaron have it and he took me over into Stewart household.
12:42Well, fourth might get taken over by Hunter Lawrence, who fell early in this race.
12:47Hunter came in as the championship leader, but if it ends like this, Jen Lawrence will take over the series
12:53lead.
12:53A good day for Hunter, but two costly mistakes.
12:57A crash late in the first race, a crash early in the second race.
13:00And if you look at the left side of Hunter's helmet, see some tear-offs, the goggle lens starting to
13:08flap around.
13:09Now, that could be one lose, or does that mean maybe he's got the whole thing?
13:11Next time we see Hunter, we'll keep an eye on that.
13:14Yeah, we'll pay attention.
13:15A lot of times those guys, they'll go to pull it, and there's two tabs on it, so you have
13:19to pull it all the way off.
13:20And it's easy to just pull one because you're trying to get your hands back on there, and that's what
13:24leaves that tear-off flapping.
13:25So, good thing with Hunter, this track is not a sticky racetrack, so even if he doesn't have any, he
13:31could probably wipe some of the stuff off because his soul is not sticking to his face like some other
13:35racetracks.
13:36And he either pulled the tear-off or wiped right there in mid-air.
13:40JT.
13:41Watching Jet Lawrence here, and he's just out there doing Jet things.
13:45What I mean by that is he's so responsive to any attack from behind him.
13:49And Lucas Koonin, two or three laps ago, put in his best lap, tried to mount what looked like a
13:54charge.
13:55Immediately, Jet went out and put in his best lap right behind it.
13:58So, he's very good at this, and what seems like a battle could be mounting, I think Jet always just
14:03has a little bit in his back pocket to be able to answer that.
14:06It's been kind of the calling card of his career.
14:09I talked to his father, Darren, this morning, and this has been a long-going conversation, because to your point,
14:14JT, we've seen Jet ride that way for several years now, and a lot of it is energy management.
14:19The idea for Hunter and Jet is they will use the energy in burst when they need it, but they're
14:23not going to waste it when they don't.
14:26And a lot of times, it looks like someone's got a hook in them, and then they use the burst
14:31when they have to.
14:31Well, I think he's using a burst right now.
14:33You know, the way he's going down that hill, you see some of the chatter out of his bike.
14:38To me, that's telling him he's starting to charge, because I think he senses that maybe if he can get
14:42another second and two, maybe Lucas would be happy just being here in America, leave Jet alone.
14:47But he's got to put in that time, just like he did last weekend.
14:49All right, the burst from Lawrence.
14:51Can he outlast Koonin halfway through this moto?
14:54A reminder, stock up on a Monster Energy drink.
14:58Lawrence has the gap a little over four seconds.
15:02And the injury to his right foot.
15:05You see, he has to take off the peg to clear that rut there.
15:07And a lot of people wondering how he would perform this summer.
15:10He could be taking over the point lead today, it will.
15:13Taking over the point lead with that injury, as you said, and not riding his usual style.
15:19Adapting to his new kind of way of riding, his new way of having to use his foot.
15:24As we see Darren Lawrence, his father there in the box, lower right.
15:28We didn't know what we were going to see out of Jet Lawrence.
15:30It's like you said, Jason, coming in.
15:31But he spoke to me yesterday.
15:33I asked him, are you in pain while you're riding?
15:35He said certain things when he talked about riding on the ball of his foot and that ankle flexing.
15:40He lost a lot of movement in it.
15:41He said, yes, there's pain.
15:43So he showed me a position with his foot where sometimes he has to ride right foot kind of on
15:47the heel.
15:48And that sort of right toe tips out.
15:50We talked about it a little bit earlier.
15:51That means there's potential for catching that toe.
15:54Especially when it starts getting deeper ruts like this.
15:57And on top of that, he's had to change his week as well.
15:59He's only riding one day a week.
16:01He said that's likely to be for the foreseeable future.
16:04As he has to manage that kind of pain and make sure he gets it back to a sort of
16:08a neutral point where it's not getting any worse come race day.
16:12So incredible to think that we're seeing this, James, and this level of performance when he's working around so many
16:19factors here.
16:20Yeah, it is beautiful to watch.
16:22Now we're watching his brother finally get up inside of Aaron Plessinger.
16:26Great job by Hunter.
16:27He's got, hey, Deegan, only a few seconds up the track.
16:29But, yeah, just going back to what we were just talking about with Jett, the one thing that he does,
16:35and I love it because this injury has caused him to learn a different way to win.
16:40And by doing these short bursts in this race, Jett knows that he understands he's not going to pull away
16:46to a point to where it's going to drop, like go from four seconds to seven seconds.
16:50But when he does these bursts, it's like an NBA team.
16:55You're hitting three-pointers.
16:56It makes the other team start hitting three-pointers.
16:59And in this position, what it's doing is making these other guys have to pick it up on a racetrack
17:04that is so slippery by Jett picking that pace up, makes them pick the pace up, which makes them make
17:09more mistakes.
17:10And that's how he builds his gap.
17:11So pretty cool to watch how he's attacking his racetrack.
17:14And now James is stretching that gap to over five seconds over Kunin, and he would be the point leader
17:22for how he looked in the first qualifying session of the year where he was out of the top ten
17:29in lap times.
17:30What an incredible adaptation three weeks later for him to be in the series lead.
17:35As for this young man, the 19-year-old out of Belgium, I don't know if he's going to take
17:40the measure of Jett Dismodo, but this is a heck of a debut.
17:43No, it absolutely is.
17:45And the one thing with Jett, he doesn't know Lucas.
17:48So he doesn't know if Lucas is going to continue to respond like he is.
17:52I mean, when Jett goes fast, Lucas goes fast.
17:54And maybe he can do that to other guys and what Jett that is and break him.
17:58Lucas seems to be just steadily there.
18:01And if Jett makes one mistake, he's going to close in.
18:04And so because these guys haven't raced each other, you don't know.
18:07And that's part of the thing.
18:08The game is clear.
18:10And Lucas did get it down to under two seconds at the checkered flag of the first race an hour
18:16ago.
18:16And you can see his mechanic, Jay Dungy, telling him, do not give up.
18:19Keep going for the win.
18:21Yeah, he looks good.
18:22Will.
18:23He does indeed.
18:24And we saw the two of them, him and his brother, Sasha, there earlier on in that feature.
18:29And I think I counted maybe four or five times throughout that feature.
18:33They talked about this being their dream to race in the U.S.
18:36And I asked them yesterday, why?
18:38Why is that?
18:39They're leading their MXGPs back home.
18:42They've got their own titles going on right now.
18:44And they said, we were six years old, sitting with our dad on the couch,
18:50watching you, James, go forward in a Supercross race 2013.
18:54And they said, we want to do that.
18:56At the time, they didn't even know there was a European series.
18:59They didn't even ride dirt bikes until a year later.
19:02So this is all they've known as the goal that they want to reach since they were six-year-old
19:07kids.
19:08And they are so excited when you speak to them to finally be doing this full circle, James.
19:12You calling that race for them, it's very special for them.
19:16And that's awesome.
19:17And to know, like, at my age, thinking, having two kids of my own,
19:21to be able to be here in the U.S., but to have an effect on two kids in Belgium,
19:27to be able to change their livelihood or kind of what they want to do is an honor.
19:31So all the kids out there, you know, that's great.
19:35These two kids are living the dream.
19:37What they're doing over in Europe right now is phenomenal, record-breaking.
19:41And then for him coming here, really cool.
19:43So it means a lot.
19:45And Lucas and Sasha will be back for two more races in America later this summer.
19:50Let's check in with Hayden Deegan here in third.
19:52So it got away.
19:54The penalty in the first moto, that was a big one in points.
19:58And then that results in a worse start position in this one.
20:02Do we still see signs of improvement in this third full-time 450 race today?
20:06Yes, yes, improvement.
20:08I mean, to me, this second moto, I mean, even though he rode great that first one,
20:12this second moto is more impressive to me because it looks like he figured out whatever he did
20:15in that first moto calmed down.
20:17And he had Hunter Lawrence right behind him.
20:20Sasha, I mean, Lucas and Jeff, they're too far up front.
20:23But Hayden Deegan's doing great, JT.
20:25He is.
20:26And you know the biggest difference that I noticed, James?
20:28The first two races, the results were, I don't know, similar to what we're seeing here today.
20:33But he was okay with it.
20:34He was satisfied.
20:35He said, hey, we're going to continue to work.
20:37We'll get there.
20:38After that first moto, there was no satisfaction.
20:41There was no happiness.
20:42There was no settling.
20:43There was pure anger that he did not seal the deal in that first moto.
20:47That is a big difference in sentiment.
20:49And it shows you his target is changing.
20:52He wants to go win.
20:53But I think the first two, he just realized he wasn't ready yet.
20:57Yeah, no, that's what we went out there.
20:58I was like, uh-oh, uh-oh.
21:00That's what I was talking about, his attitude.
21:02And you can just hear that that goal post is changing for them.
21:05And that only comes from being able to battle with those guys.
21:08Last weekend, he was battling with them, but he really wasn't.
21:12Today, he battled with these guys.
21:14And if he can able to get to this holdoff under Lawrence for the third,
21:17this moto is going to be great.
21:19Big steps for the 450 rookie.
21:22There's Jett Lawrence.
21:23Got the lead up to 5.2 seconds now.
21:26Can he win two weekends in a row, even while rotting through injury?
21:30Stay with us.
21:56Stay with us.
21:58You're going five and six seconds of last power.
26:08Hunter and Ken Rockson went down to the wire in the stadium.
26:11Monster Energy Supercross season.
26:13And this crowd sensing a late battle between Deegan and Lawrence.
26:17And that will be two championship points.
26:20And that will be two championship points on the line here.
26:21Difference between a third and a fourth.
26:23Hunter's closing rapidly now.
26:25And we've got to see this all day.
26:27You know, guys make a mistake as Hunter ducks his head.
26:30He's able to close in.
26:31But on this track, closing in on a guy and passing him is another different story.
26:36And as long as Hayden makes these through these corners, it'll be hard for Hunter.
26:40They've got to slow down here because that red flag, red cross flag.
26:47And now back up to speed.
26:51Plenty of time here.
26:54Four laps to go.
26:57There's Hutch, who's Grant Hutcherson filling in.
27:00I believe it's a mechanic today for Hunter.
27:02And he goes back to work.
27:07Yeah, Hayden Deegan's a smart rider as well.
27:09I mean, we've seen him do the same thing in what Jeff Lawrence is doing out front.
27:12Let Hunter catch you.
27:14You know he's going to be there.
27:15Maybe you let him catch you.
27:16You put a push.
27:17Maybe Hunter makes a mistake.
27:18And it seems like as soon as Hunter got there, Hayden make that pace up.
27:22Absolutely.
27:22He's going to try to fight it to the end.
27:23Okay.
27:24So now we know Deegan has something left in the tank to dig with.
27:27Hunter does not want to let this go, though.
27:32I saw Hayden come up that hill.
27:33That takes so much energy on this racetrack because of the altitude.
27:37And it's strictly uphill.
27:39A lot of energy holding on to that 450.
27:51Hunter to the outside.
27:53It's going to be the inside of the next turn.
27:55Not close enough.
27:56Yeah, he really can't do anything because there's nothing for him to bank off of.
28:00So Hunter wants to get on the gas.
28:01But it's completely loose out there.
28:03So he has to wait.
28:04Now he's starting to set those passes up, finding some different lines.
28:08Because I believe he's going to have to probably hit a new line that he hasn't done to get around
28:118.
28:12And Hayden's going to run those same ones.
28:16The clock is ticking.
28:17When it goes to zero, there will be two laps to go.
28:19You see the clock on the upper left.
28:25Different line here.
28:28Almost side by side.
28:29Yep.
28:29Now Hunter has the option.
28:31Hey, he did a great job.
28:32See, there was that inside.
28:33Oh!
28:33The inside and contact!
28:34Got it!
28:36Now that pass was set up going down that hill because of that option.
28:40But now, Hunter, you better get away.
28:42You know that 38, he loves his life.
28:44Oh yeah, Danger Boy.
28:46He likes that type of combat.
28:50Hunter locking it down.
28:53Oh, great recovery by Hunter.
28:55He missed this run.
28:56Still did a good job at trying to stay on the inside.
29:00Show you this pass again.
29:03You got to see, now Hunter's just a little bit wide.
29:05But now he's going to set up and didn't think he was going to have the pass.
29:07But when Hayden had that little hesitation, Hunter saw that opportunity.
29:10And he knew he was going to make contact.
29:12And the worst thing that was going to happen was the 38 was going to go down.
29:16Hunter Lawrence made a strong pass into that third field.
29:20So, when you calculate the two races together,
29:23it's going to put Hunter Lawrence third for the day.
29:27Lucas Kunin second.
29:28Jett Lawrence did have the win.
29:29And the championship points you can see on the lower left.
29:32Jett Lawrence would take the point lead.
29:33But at one point it would have been a nine point gap.
29:36It is now six as Hunter has made a couple of passes.
29:39Got around Plessinger and got around Deegan.
29:42Oh, and just like that, he's down again.
29:47Yeah, I was just listening to Hayden's bike.
29:49And the reason that was caused because I believe Hunter knew he wanted to break Hayden.
29:54He's got to pick this bike up.
29:56And here comes Prado and March Banks who are still battling.
30:01Now, how hard is it to get back up to pace?
30:04Yeah, what Hunter's got to do is at least keep Jorge behind him right now and maybe take a break.
30:09Because he knows Forbes is going to be where he's going to finish his moto.
30:13Take a break in these one line race sections as he almost goes down again.
30:17Wow.
30:18Ah, that's a tough break.
30:19Will.
30:21James, I'm looking at this.
30:22We've seen this kind of back and forth between Hunter, Lawrence and Hayden Deegan here through both of the motos.
30:29They've both kind of gotten the better of each other.
30:31There's been mistakes.
30:32There's been penalties.
30:34This is a bit of a mental chess match.
30:36When you leave Thunder Valley, if you're either of these two today, who got the better of who?
30:40Who has the mental advantage now going into the next round?
30:44Well, I mean, that's a hard question.
30:45I do believe both of them are mentally strong in two different ways.
30:50After what happened in Supercross with Hunter to bounce back that first race, I don't think there's anything that could
30:54really get to him.
30:56You know, and Hayden Deegan, I feel like with him, he's gained that confidence.
31:01So, as I say, it's hard to tell because nothing's going to change with Hunter.
31:04Hunter's going to be Hunter, but Hayden Deegan's going to gain.
31:06I mean, how does that play out throughout the season?
31:09I would say the biggest winner today would probably be Hayden Deegan because now you heard him in between that
31:14moto.
31:15Now, even though he's going to beat Hunter because Hunter goes down, he still has a win.
31:19But they still chasing this guy.
31:21They still got to figure out that this scenario and nobody has so far this year yet.
31:25Yes, that's Jett Lawrence up front.
31:27But Deegan after that first race said he thought Jett was looking back.
31:31Jett knows he's there.
31:32You're starting to hear the confidence, the chirping that Deegan is known for.
31:38Yeah, and that's why I go back to kind of that winning of Hayden Deegan.
31:43And, you know, sometimes you can win without winning.
31:46And I believe that today is that day for Hayden.
31:48Now, last weekend, he knew the pace with the Lawrence.
31:51He said, hey, he got the ride with him, got the battle with him, but he knew he wasn't close.
31:55Today, he's going to go off that first moto and I'm like, I could have had him.
31:58I made these mistakes.
31:59The second moto, I felt like I rode better, end up, you know, losing a little bit of ground.
32:03So, I think there's more positives of if things would have changed, I would have beaten this guy compared to
32:07last weekend
32:08where he was like, yeah, I was there, but I really wasn't there.
32:11I feel like he has a better shot going into next weekend in his mind.
32:14JT?
32:15Yeah, just to add to that thought a little bit.
32:18I kind of felt like Hayden was better in race one just due to the track conditions.
32:22You know, he still wants to be really aggressive with the throttle application.
32:26And I just felt like he was a little more equipped for the fight in the first moto than this
32:30one.
32:30You know, Hunter kind of pushed him out of the way there.
32:32I think Hunter would have gotten away had he not fallen.
32:35But some of that I just think is due to the track going away a little bit.
32:38And you need a little bit more throttle control in race two.
32:41And Hayden hasn't really mastered that quite yet on the 450.
32:44Yeah, no, I agree.
32:45Tate definitely looked more racier like in that first race, like he was more competitive to win.
32:50And what I was impressed with is that all those mistakes that he made on the track that had better
32:54traction seemed like he got better this moto.
32:56So I don't know if the team went back and figured out some things, made some changes.
32:59But he looked more just solid and he made his way up.
33:03Hunter was definitely going to get the better of him at this moto.
33:06But to me, I see an improvement.
33:09I like what I see.
33:12Jett Lawrence likes what he sees, James.
33:14White flag, one lap to go.
33:16He has outlasted the challenge for the very capable visitor, the young Lucas Kunin, who will end up second.
33:22And Hunter is barely clinging to that final overall podium spot.
33:26His Jett's barely clinging to the racetrack there at the top of that hill.
33:30Marchbanks has been shadowing Prado the entire race.
33:33If Marchbanks can make the pass on Prado on this last lap, he will go third overall today and get
33:39the stand on the podium and spray the champagne.
33:41If he can't make the pass, Hunter Lawrence will hang on.
33:44And well done, welcome to America, Lucas Kunin.
33:48He wasn't able to solve Jett Lawrence, but look, Jett has won.
33:52This is incredible.
33:5426 out of the 30 races he has been in in 450 pro motocross.
33:58So solving this riddle, not easy for anyone.
34:00No, it's not.
34:01But I'm impressed by Lucas because, you know, we talked about it earlier.
34:05He's winning his championship over in Europe.
34:08And sure, as happy as the team want him to succeed, they don't want any opportunity.
34:13If something happens over, he gets hurt, there's a lot of pressure for him.
34:16So he's kind of stuck in a spot to where he wants to race this guy.
34:20But he also understands that the last thing he can do is come over and get hurt.
34:23How do you race like that?
34:24This kid showed me a lot today.
34:27Very impressed.
34:28Obviously, Jett Lawrence is still next level.
34:30Only get better.
34:31But you can't be nothing but impressed by all these guys, especially Lucas Kunin.
34:36State of the sport quite good when you've got this type of young talent.
34:40The Lawrence's Deegan and now Lucas Kunin, who would like to be able to race this championship full time in
34:45the future.
34:46He certainly showed he could be a contender somewhere down the road.
34:51But Jett Lawrence, the story remains the same.
34:53Hurt or not, when he is on the racetrack in 450 Pro Motocross, he's about as close to unbeatable as
35:00you can be.
35:02Bringing it home two weekends in a row.
35:05He's going to win both motos.
35:07Shows the number one and shows why.
35:10Still dominant, still the man.
35:12Jett Lawrence conquers Thunder Valley and Pro Motocross.
35:18And Lucas Kunin in his first Pro Motocross race in America.
35:24Second in both motos.
35:26Very impressive.
35:28Deegan is going to outlast Hunter Lawrence.
35:30There was a good battle that Lawrence crashed.
35:32Deegan will take third in this individual race.
35:35Will likely be sixth overall due to the crashes and penalty in Moto 1.
35:41Looking at the background.
35:44I believe.
35:45Hunter put it in one last charge.
35:48He was.
35:49Cut the gun back down about in half.
35:52There is Prado.
35:53And March Banks was not able to get him.
35:55So that will mean that Hunter Lawrence is on the podium.
35:59And more congratulations to the young talents.
36:02The Australian Lawrence.
36:04And the Belgian native Lucas Kunin, look at these stats.
36:0926 out of 30 in overall wins.
36:11And 48 out of 60 in the individual race wins.
36:14Look at his face.
36:15Look at his face.
36:16That's Jett Lawrence that I saw win last year.
36:18And I would tell you this.
36:19I would be scared if that was those boys.
36:21The way he won this race, a lot different than he won the other two.
36:24He believes now.
36:27They had him on the ropes.
