00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name. Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all
03:26their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind.
03:30Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:49Give us this day our daily bread.
03:52Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
04:39As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:50The Lord's name be praised.
04:56Psalm 65
04:59Praise awaits you, O God, in Zion.
05:02Vows made to you are fulfilled.
05:05You hear prayers.
05:07All people approach you.
05:10Our record of sins overwhelms me, but you forgive our acts of rebellion.
05:16How blessed is the one whom you choose and allow to live in your palace courts.
05:22May we be satisfied with the good things of your house, your holy palace.
05:29You answer our prayers by performing awesome acts of deliverance, O God, our Saviour.
05:36All the ends of the earth trust in you, as well as those living across the wide seas.
05:44You created the mountains by your power, and demonstrated your great strength.
05:50You calm the raging seas and the roaring waves, as well as the commotion made by the nations.
05:58Even those living in the most remote areas are awestruck by your acts.
06:04You cause those living in the east and west to praise you.
06:10You visit the earth and give it rain.
06:12You make it rich and fertile.
06:16God's streams are full of water.
06:18You provide grain for them, for you have prepared the earth in this way.
06:24You saturate its furrows and soak its ploughed ground.
06:29With rain showers, you soften its soil and make its crops grow.
06:35You crown the year with your good blessings, and you leave abundance in your wake.
06:42The pastures in the wilderness glisten with moisture, and the hills are clothed with joy.
06:50The meadows are clothed with sheep, and the valleys are covered with grain.
06:55They shout joyfully.
06:57Yes, they sing.
06:59Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
07:03As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
07:08World without end.
07:10Amen.
07:13Psalm 66
07:16Shout out praise to God, all the earth.
07:19Sing praises about the majesty of his reputation.
07:23Give him the honour he deserves.
07:27Say to God, how awesome are your deeds.
07:30Because of your great power, your enemies cower in fear before you.
07:36All the earth worships you and sings praises to you.
07:40They sing praises to your name.
07:44Come and witness God's exploits.
07:46His acts on behalf of people are awesome.
07:50He turned the sea into dry land, and they passed through the river on foot.
07:56Let us rejoice in him there.
08:00He rules by his power forever.
08:03He watches the nations.
08:06Stubborn rebels should not exalt themselves.
08:11Praise our God, you nations.
08:13Loudly proclaim his praise.
08:17He preserves our lives and does not allow our feet to slip.
08:23For you, O God, tested us.
08:25You purified us like refined silver.
08:29You led us into a trap.
08:31You caused us to suffer.
08:35You allowed men to ride over our heads, and we passed through fire and water.
08:41But you brought us out into a wide open place.
08:46I will enter your temple with burnt sacrifices.
08:49I will fulfill the vows I made to you, which my lips uttered and my mouth spoke while I was
08:56in trouble.
08:58I will offer up to you fattened animals as burnt sacrifices, along with the smell of sacrificial rams.
09:06I will offer cattle and goats.
09:09Come, listen, all you who are loyal to God.
09:13I will declare what he has done for me.
09:17I cried out to him for help and praised him with my tongue.
09:22If I had harbored sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.
09:28However God heard, he listened to my prayer.
09:33God deserves praise, for he did not reject my prayer or abandon his love for me.
09:41Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
09:45as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
09:50world without end.
09:52Amen.
09:57Psalm 67
10:01May God show us his favor and bless us.
10:04May he smile upon us.
10:07Then those living on earth will know what you are like.
10:11All nations will know how you deliver your people.
10:15Let the nations thank you, O God.
10:18Let all the nations thank you.
10:21Let foreigners rejoice and celebrate,
10:23for you execute justice among the nations and govern the people living on earth.
10:30Let the nations thank you, O God.
10:32Let all the nations thank you.
10:35The earth yields its crops.
10:38May God, our God, bless us.
10:40May God bless us.
10:42Then all the ends of the earth will give him the honor he deserves.
10:48Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
10:52as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
10:57world without end.
10:58Amen.
11:06The second book of Kings, chapter 19.
11:12When King Hezekiah heard this, he tore his clothes,
11:16put on sackcloth and went into the Lord's temple.
11:21He sent Eliakim, the palace supervisor,
11:24Shepner the scribe,
11:25of the leading priests clothed in sackcloth,
11:28with this message to the prophet Isaiah, son of Amos.
11:34This is what Hezekiah says.
11:38This is a day of distress, insults and humiliation,
11:43as when the baby is ready to leave the birth canal,
11:46but your mother lacks the strength to push it through.
11:51Perhaps the Lord your God will hear all these things
11:54the chief advisor has spoken on behalf of his master,
11:58the king of Assyria,
12:00who sent him to taunt the living God.
12:04When the Lord your God hears,
12:06perhaps he will punish him
12:07for the things that he has said.
12:10So pray for this remnant that remains.
12:16When King Hezekiah's servants came to Isaiah,
12:20Isaiah said to them,
12:22Tell you, master, this.
12:25This is what the Lord says.
12:28Do not be afraid because of the things you have heard.
12:31These insults the king of Assyria's servants
12:34have hurled against me.
12:37Look, I will take control of his mind.
12:41He will receive a report and return to his own land.
12:45And I will cut him down with a sword in his own land.
12:53When the chief advisor heard that the king of Assyria had departed from Lachish,
12:59he left and went to Libna,
13:01where the king was campaigning.
13:04The king heard that King Terhaka of Ethiopia was marching out to fight him.
13:12He again sent messengers to Hezekiah ordering them,
13:16Tell King Hezekiah of Judah this.
13:20Do not let your God in whom you trust mislead you when he says,
13:25Jerusalem will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.
13:30Certainly you have heard how the kings of Assyria have annihilated every land.
13:35Do you really think you will be rescued?
13:39Where are the nations my ancestors destroyed?
13:43The nations of Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the people of Eden in Telesar?
13:51Were they rescued by their gods?
13:55Where are the kings of Hamath, the king of Arpad,
13:59and the king of Leah, Sebefahim, Hena, and Eva?
14:07Hezekiah took the letter from the messengers and read it.
14:11Then he went up to the Lord's temple and spread it out before the Lord.
14:17Hezekiah prayed before the Lord,
14:20Lord God of Israel who is enthroned on the cherubs,
14:24You alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth.
14:28You made the sky and the earth.
14:31Pay attention, Lord, and hear.
14:34Open your eyes, Lord, and observe.
14:38Listen to the message Sennacherib sent
14:40and how he taunts the living God.
14:44It is true, Lord, that the kings of Assyria
14:47have destroyed the nations and their lands.
14:50They have burnt the gods of the nations,
14:53for they are not really gods,
14:55but only the products of human hands,
14:58manufactured from wood and stone.
15:01That is why the Assyrians could destroy them.
15:05Now, O Lord, our God,
15:07rescue us from his power,
15:09so that all the kingdoms of the earth
15:12will know that you, Lord, are the only God.
15:18This is the word of the Lord.
15:20Thanks be to God.
15:38Mary said,
15:39My soul exalts the Lord,
15:42and my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Saviour,
15:46because he has looked upon the humble state of his servant.
15:52For from now on all generations will call me blessed,
15:57because he who is mighty has done great things for me,
16:00and holy is his name.
16:03From generation to generation
16:05he is merciful to those who fear him.
16:09He has demonstrated power with his arm.
16:13He has scattered those whose pride wells up
16:16from the sheer arrogance of their hearts.
16:19He has brought down the mighty from their thrones,
16:22and has lifted up those of lowly position.
16:26He has filled the hungry with good things,
16:29and has sent the rich away empty.
16:32He has helped his servant Israel,
16:35remembering his mercy,
16:37as he promised to our ancestors,
16:39to Abraham and to his descendants for ever.
16:45Glory be to the Father,
16:47and to the Son,
16:48and to the Holy Spirit,
16:49as it was in the beginning,
16:52is now, and ever shall be,
16:54world without end.
16:56Amen.
17:07The Epistle of St. James
17:09Chapter 3
17:13Not many of you should become teachers,
17:15my brothers and sisters,
17:17because you know that we will be judged more strictly,
17:20for we all stumble in many ways.
17:25If someone does not stumble in what he says,
17:28he is a perfect individual,
17:31able to control the entire body as well.
17:35If we put bits into the mouths of horses
17:38to get them to obey us,
17:40then we guide their entire bodies.
17:42Look at ships, too,
17:44though they are so large and driven by harsh winds.
17:47They are steered by a tiny rudder,
17:50wherever the pilot's inclination directs.
17:54So, too,
17:56the tongue is a small part of the body,
17:58and yet it has great pretensions.
18:02Think,
18:03how small a spark
18:04sets a huge forest afire.
18:08The tongue is such a fire.
18:11The tongue represents the world of wrongdoing
18:13among the parts of our bodies.
18:15It pollutes the entire body
18:18and sets fire
18:19to the course of human existence
18:21and is set on fire by hell.
18:26Every kind of animal,
18:28bird,
18:29reptile,
18:30and sea creature
18:30is subdued
18:32and has been subdued
18:33by humankind.
18:35But no human being
18:36can subdue the tongue.
18:39It is a restless evil
18:41full of deadly poison.
18:44With it
18:45we bless the Lord and Father
18:47and with it
18:48we curse people
18:49made in God's image.
18:52From the safe mouth
18:53comes both blessing
18:55and cursing.
18:57These things
18:58should not be so,
18:59my brothers and sisters.
19:01A spring does not
19:02pour out fresh water
19:03and bitter water
19:04from the same opening,
19:05does it?
19:07Can a fig tree
19:08produce olives,
19:09my brothers and sisters,
19:10or a vine produce figs?
19:14Neither
19:15can a salt water
19:16spring
19:17produce fresh water.
19:21Who is wise
19:22and understanding
19:23among you?
19:25By his good conduct
19:27he should show
19:28his works done
19:29in the gentleness
19:30that wisdom brings.
19:33If you have bitter
19:35jealousy
19:35and selfishness
19:36in your hearts
19:37do not boast
19:38and tell lies
19:39against the truth.
19:41Such wisdom
19:42does not come
19:43from above
19:44but is earthly,
19:46natural
19:46and demonic.
19:49For where there is
19:51jealousy and selfishness
19:52there will be disorder
19:54and every evil practice.
19:56But the wisdom
19:58from above
19:58is first pure
19:59then peaceable,
20:01gentle,
20:03accommodating,
20:04full of mercy
20:04and good fruit,
20:06impartial
20:07and not hypocritical.
20:09The fruit
20:10that consists
20:11of righteousness
20:11is planted
20:13in peace
20:14among those
20:15who make peace.
20:18This is the word
20:20of the Lord.
20:21Thanks be to God.
20:37Now according
20:38to your word
20:39Sovereign Lord
20:40permit your servant
20:42to depart in peace
20:43for my eyes
20:45have seen
20:46your salvation
20:47that you have prepared
20:48in the presence
20:49of all peoples.
20:51A light
20:52for revelation
20:53to the Gentiles
20:54and for glory
20:56to your people
20:57Israel.
20:59Glory be to the Father
21:01and to the Son
21:02and to the Holy Spirit
21:03as it was
21:05in the beginning
21:06is now
21:06and ever shall be
21:07world without end.
21:10Amen.
21:15I believe in God

21:30unto Pontius Pilate
21:33was crucified
21:34dead
21:35and buried
21:36he descended
21:37into hell
21:38on the third day
21:40he rose again
21:41from the dead
21:41he ascended
21:43into heaven
21:44and is sitting
21:45at the right hand
21:46of God
21:47the Father Almighty
21:49from there
21:50he shall come
21:51come to judge
21:51the living
21:52and the dead
21:54I believe
21:55in the Holy Spirit
