Downtown Detroit's troubled Leland House, one of the city's oldest buildings, is now under new ownership. WWJ's Luke Sloan reports.

00:00A federal bankruptcy judge has approved a $3 million sale of the Leland House to Detroit-based
00:06Muddish Development Company, ending a years-long saga of crumbling infrastructure and building
00:11problems, most recently a power failure that forced all residents from the building last year.
00:17The sale includes a condition that all displaced tenants must be compensated.
00:22The Detroit Tenants Union has until the end of the month to file a motion outlining their request.
00:27The sale still needs to clear a few final closing steps, but this marks a new era for the
00:32Leland House, one of downtown Detroit's oldest buildings, opened in 1927.
00:37It's a beautiful old building with rich history, but has fallen into extreme disrepair in recent
00:43years, so no matter what it becomes, it will be a massive undertaking to redevelop it.
