AccuWeather's Geoff Cornish warns that sizzling heat and humidity will fuel dangerous thunderstorms capable of producing fierce winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes in the Plains.

00:00Sizzling heat and humidity, more typical of late July as opposed to early to mid-June.
00:05Building across the Midwest, the Plains, and eventually into the Northeast as well.
00:09Some areas are going to be relatively close to record highs in parts of the Plains on Tuesday.
00:14And around the periphery of that, we're looking at a high risk for severe storms in North Dakota.
00:19So the heat's driving damaging thunderstorms with fierce wind, isolated tornadoes, and some very large hail.
00:25Places like Bismarck and Minot will be facing some of those hazards.
00:28Into Wednesday, the heat shifts a little farther east into more of the Mississippi Valley and into the Heartland.
00:34Chicago is going to be sweltering, and we will be dealing with another round of very strong and severe thunderstorms
00:39around the northern periphery of the core of the heat.
00:42Areas like Madison, Wisconsin facing some damaging wind and hail risks, as well as isolated tornadoes.
00:48The heat is going to be a big driver around the periphery of the ridge.
00:52These storms will be rumbling, and some will be severe every single day this week.
00:55And by Thursday, some areas in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast will be flirting with record highs.
