00:00Hey guys, as some of you guys would already be aware, we've been spending some time in Furano
00:04in Hokkaido, Japan. And everywhere we went, we kept seeing military types. So all these military
00:11type characters, military type vehicles. So we'd researched the area as far as what we wanted to
00:18see. But what we didn't know is this place, which is called Camp Kamifurano, which is a Japan
00:26Self-Defense Force base, where apparently there's a whole tank regiment based, and infantry and
00:34artillery. So obviously Hokkaido is one of the closest points to Russia. So it's always been a
00:42fairly active area for the Japan Self-Defense Force. So we had no idea this place existed.
00:49And then as we drove down the road, we stumbled across this beautiful location. See the mountains
00:57at the back? Beautiful location, but interesting. Boarded up windows. We're guessing that's possibly
01:04because this area gets really heavy snow. They get meters of snow. So that could be why they
01:09bought up their windows. Probably. But yeah, lots of military vehicles in there. And interesting
01:15at the entrance here. A couple of guys toting rifles there, which is something you don't
01:21often see in Japan. But yeah, the entrance there, a couple of guys with rifles. So yeah,
01:27interesting. As you guys might have seen already, we have a bit of experience at the Komaki base,
01:36military base, JSDF base in Komaki, because we actually fly from there ourselves. So we experienced
01:44a little bit of the JSDF people and equipment, but not the land-based stuff so much. So this
01:52is sort of interesting for us. So hopefully it was interesting for one of you guys too. More
01:58videos coming soon.
