00:15Park car parks,
00:16were said to have raised more than £550,000 in six months.
00:21Now, car park improvements are due to be carried out using funds raised from charging drivers at the popular beauty
00:28spot.
00:28More parking bays, improved surfacing and better signage will be installed.
00:33Leeds City Council drew up a planning application which would see the number of parking spaces at Goldenacre increase from
00:40105 to 122.
00:42A planning officer's report said the Arthington Road car park was currently unmarked and in a poor condition.
00:49It said this results in inefficient parking patterns which can also cause obstructions,
00:54with the proposal set to improve the surfacing and formally layout the parking spaces.
00:59A public consultation was held in January 2025 on the proposal, which would provide six disabled parking bays at the
01:07park.
01:07Electric vehicle charging points were considered for the site, but deemed not to be viable.
01:12The report said the scheme results in a minor increase in the number of parking spaces which include specific motorcycle
01:18and disabled provision.
01:20Overall, the proposals are considered to result in significant improvements in parking provision and usability for all users.
01:26Blue badge holders are exempt from the parking charges.
