00:00Liverpool City Council is opening 29 paid apprenticeship opportunities for young residents,
00:07covering a wide range of jobs across the organisation.
00:10The Liverpool Young Futures programme is designed to help people gain workplace experience
00:16while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.
00:20The roles include marketing, digital content creation and ICT,
00:25alongside environmental health, emergency resilience and housing.
00:29There are also opportunities in parks and green spaces, health and social care and venue operations,
00:36giving applicants different routes into public service and other careers.
00:40All apprentices will be paid the real living wage.
00:44The programme is open to Liverpool residents aged 16 to 20.
00:48Some young people can apply up to age 24, including those with an education, health and care plan or care
00:56experience.
00:57Applications are now open and close on the 1st of September.
01:01Candidates only need to complete one application,
01:04then they can indicate which roles interest them most later in the recruitment process,
01:08making the process simpler.
01:10An open event at Liverpool Town Hall takes place on the 19th of August,
01:14from 10 in the morning until midday.
01:16Young people can meet hiring managers and ask questions about the roles.
01:21The local authority already has an apprenticeship programme
01:24and this initiative takes that commitment even further.
