00:07you'll have paid £1 for up to two hours parking, £2.50 for half a day or £4 for a full day.
00:13You may also have a season ticket which costs £10 a month or £80 per year.
00:18Now, new figures have been published confirming that the charges have so far raised £218,000 from parking machines
00:25and £236,000 from phone app payments, with a further £96,000 being paid by motorists who have bought season tickets.
00:34All of that totals more than £550,000, which a council spokesperson says is in line with expectations.
00:42The council have said that the funds generated are a crucial and sustainable source of income
00:46that helps them continue to provide high-quality parks and green spaces,
00:50and they'll be using future revenue to fund ongoing maintenance.
00:53They added that since introducing car parking charges, it has allowed them to make a number of important improvements,
00:59and they've recently submitted a planning application to redevelop the Arlington Road car park at Golden Acre
01:05to create a safer and more welcoming experience for visitors.
01:09Roundhay has raised the most cash for the council, seeing £155,000 being spent on parking there since February.
01:16There were 304,825 ticket machine and app transactions at all of the five parks,
01:22along with 2,171 online and over-the-counter payments for season tickets.
01:28It comes as charges are set to be introduced at Wilderness and Station Gardens in Wetherby,
01:33Fink Hill in Horsforth, Barley Hill Road in Garforth,
01:36Marsh Street in Rothwell,
01:38and Netherfield Road in Guiseley from the 6th of October,
01:42with all of them chargeable for stays of over an hour.
