00:00Though one of my frustrations is we've got a government that's been there for nearly two years,
00:04they've commissioned a report about youth unemployment, that report brings together
00:09lots of useful data and figures about the problem, it contains no solutions. There are no solutions,
00:16no proposals, no policies in the report that's being published today, that's for later. And
00:22meanwhile we've got a government which has destroyed job opportunities for young people.
00:27All the choices they have made have made it harder for young people to get jobs. Like
00:32their jobs tax, their employment rights bill, things that have reduced the number of jobs
00:37available, 300,000 fewer jobs since Labour has been in government. And it's young people
00:42who are hardest hit by that decline in job opportunities because it's harder for them
00:47when they're competing in the labour market to get a job against other people who've got
00:51more experience, more of a track record. So the first thing the government should do
00:56is back businesses to create jobs and get hiring. They should stop taxing businesses so hard.
