00:00I can officially say that I am the winning candidate.
00:04Hello, humans.
00:05Well, a new dawn has broken, has it not?
00:08Literally, because it's past 6.30 in the morning here in Clacton-on-Sea.
00:14And I can officially say that I am the winning candidate
00:19of the candidates who bothered to turn up for the results.
00:23That's right, 9,455 actual votes.
00:29Just eight weeks ago in Makerfield, I got 95.
00:33That means I've got against Nigel Farage 10,000% more votes
00:40than I got against Andy Burnham.
00:43What does that tell you?
00:44Well, it tells you that Nigel, who said that he didn't want to be humiliated,
00:50maybe has been.
00:51As for me, I'm over the moon, I'm over your moon, I'm over my moons.
00:56And what comes next?
00:57Well, we shall see.
00:58But you know what?
00:59We know this for a fact.
01:01Over one in four people in this constituency
01:05would rather have Campinface as their MP
01:09than the leader of Reform UK.
01:11And I'm just getting started.
01:13So where do we go now?
01:15Well, the first thing you have to consider is
01:17I promise to be a local champion for Clacton people.
01:21And I thought the best thing I could do
01:23was to turn up and get my verdict from Clacton's people
01:27and to stand with the other candidates
01:29who all behave themselves impeccably
01:31until after the result.
01:32But, yes, that was my view.
01:35And, of course, the next question is what happens after this?
01:38Well, we will find out.
01:40Stay tuned for part two of the Clacton by-election
01:44coming soon to a leisure centre near you
01:47as soon as that parliamentary inquiry reports.
01:51Bring it on!
