00:00The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians, King James Version, read by Justin Bible.
00:09May God bless you with an unquenchable thirst for his holy word, the Bible.
00:16Ephesians, chapter 1.
00:18Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus,
00:24and to the faithful in Christ Jesus, grace be to you and peace.
00:29From God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
00:33Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
00:36who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ,
00:40according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,
00:45that we should be holy and without blame before him in love,
00:50having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself,
00:56according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace,
01:01wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved,
01:05in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins,
01:10according to the riches of his grace, wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence,
01:16having made known unto us the mystery of his will,
01:20according to his good pleasure, which he hath purposed in himself,
01:24that in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ,
01:31both which are in heaven and which are on earth, even in him,
01:36in whom also we have obtained an inheritance,
01:39being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will,
01:48that we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ,
01:54in whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation,
02:01in whom also, after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,
02:06which is the earnest of our inheritance, until the redemption of the purchased possession,
02:12unto the praise of his glory.
02:14Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
02:20cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,
02:24that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,
02:28may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him,
02:33the eyes of your understanding, being enlightened, that ye may know,
02:37what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
02:43and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward, who believe,
02:47according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ,
02:51when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
02:56far above, all principality, and power, and might, and dominion,
03:02and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come,
03:08and have put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the
03:13church,
03:14which is his body, the fullness of him, that filleth all in all.
03:27Ephesians chapter 2
03:28And you hath he quickened, who were dead, in trespasses and sins,
03:34wherein, in time past, he walked according to the course of this world,
03:38according to the prince of the power of the air,
03:41the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience,
03:45among whom also, we all had our conversation,
03:49in times past, in the lusts of our flesh,
03:52fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind,
03:55and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
03:59But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
04:05even when we were dead in sins,
04:07hath quickened us together with Christ,
04:10by grace he is saved,
04:11and hath raised us up together,
04:14and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
04:18that in the ages to come,
04:20he might show the exceeding riches of his grace,
04:23and his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
04:26For by grace are ye saved through faith,
04:30and that not of yourselves,
04:32it is the gift of God,
04:35not of works,
04:37lest any man should boast.
04:40For we are his workmanship,
04:44created in Christ Jesus unto good works,
04:47which God hath before ordained,
04:50that we should walk in them.
04:52Wherefore, remember,
04:54that ye,
04:55being in time past,
04:56Gentiles in the flesh,
04:58who are called uncircumcision by that which is called the circumcision,
05:02in the flesh made by hands,
05:04that at that time ye were without Christ,
05:06being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel,
05:09and strangers from the covenants of promise,
05:12having no hope,
05:13and without God in the world.
05:15But now,
05:16in Christ Jesus,
05:18ye who sometimes were far off,
05:20are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
05:23For he is our peace,
05:25who hath made both one,
05:27and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us,
05:31having abolished in his flesh the enmity,
05:35even the law of commandments contained in ordinances.
05:38For to make in himself of twain one new man,
05:44so making peace,
05:46and that he might reconcile both unto God,
05:49and one body by the cross,
05:51having slain the enmity thereby,
05:53and came and preached peace,
05:56to you which were far off,
05:59and to them that were nigh.
06:00For through him we both have access by one spirit unto the Father.
06:05Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners,
06:09but fellow citizens with the saints,
06:12and of the household of God,
06:13and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
06:17Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone,
06:21in whom all the building fitly framed together,
06:24groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord,
06:28in whom ye also are built together,
06:31for inhabitation of God,
06:33through the Spirit,
06:41Ephesians chapter 3.
06:43For this cause I, Paul,
06:45the prisoner of Jesus Christ,
06:47for you Gentiles,
06:48if ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God,
06:52which is given me to you word,
06:53how that by revelation
06:55he made known unto me the mystery,
06:57as I wrote afore in few words,
06:59whereby when ye read,
07:00ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ,
07:03which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men,
07:07as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit,
07:11that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs,
07:14and of the same body,
07:16and partakers of his promise in Christ,
07:18by the gospel,
07:20whereof I was made a minister,
07:22according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me,
07:25by the effectual working of his power,
07:28unto me,
07:29who am less than the least of all saints,
07:32is this grace given,
07:34that I should preach among the Gentiles,
07:36the unsearchable riches of Christ,
07:39and to make all men see,
07:41what is the fellowship of the mystery,
07:43which from the beginning of the world,
07:45hath been hid in God,
07:47who created all things by Jesus Christ,
07:50to the intent that now,
07:51unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places,
07:55might be known by the church,
07:57the manifold wisdom of God,
07:58according to the eternal purpose,
08:00which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord,
08:03in whom we have boldness,
08:05and access with confidence,
08:07by the faith of him,
08:09wherefore I desire that ye faint not,
08:12at my tribulations for you,
08:14which is your glory,
08:15for this cause I bow my knees,
08:17unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
08:20of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
08:23that he would grant you,
08:24according to the riches of his glory,
08:26to be strengthened with might,
08:28by his spirit and the inner man,
08:30that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith,
08:33that ye,
08:34being rooted and grounded in love,
08:37may be able to comprehend with all saints,
08:40what is the breadth,
08:41and length,
08:42and depth,
08:43and height,
08:44and to know,
08:45the love of Christ,
08:47which passive knowledge,
08:49that ye might be filled,
08:50with all the fullness of God,
08:52know unto him that is able,
08:54to do exceeding abundantly,
08:56above all that we ask or think,
08:58according to the power that worketh in us,
09:01unto him be glory in the church,
09:03by Christ Jesus,
09:04throughout all ages,
09:06world without end.
09:08Amen.
09:15Ephesians chapter 4
09:16I therefore,
09:18the prisoner of the Lord,
09:19beseech you,
09:20that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
09:24with all lowliness and meekness,
09:26with long-suffering,
09:27forbearing one another in love,
09:30endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit,
09:32and the bond of peace.
09:34There is one body,
09:36and one spirit,
09:37even as ye are called in one hope of your calling,
09:41one Lord,
09:42one faith,
09:43one baptism,
09:45one God,
09:46and Father of all,
09:47who is above all,
09:49and through all,
09:50and in you all.
09:52But unto every one of us is given grace,
09:55according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
09:57Wherefore he saith,
09:59when he ascended up on high,
10:01he led captivity captive,
10:03and gave gifts unto men.
10:05Now that he ascended,
10:07what is it but that he also descended first,
10:10into the lower parts of the earth?
10:12He that descended is the same also that ascended up,
10:15far above all heavens,
10:17that he might fill all things.
10:19And he gave some apostles,
10:21and some prophets,
10:23and some evangelists,
10:24and some pastors and teachers,
10:27for the perfecting of the saints,
10:29for the work of the ministry,
10:31for the edifying of the body of Christ,
10:34till we all come in the unity of the faith,
10:36and of the knowledge of the Son of God,
10:38unto a perfect man,
10:40unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,
10:44that we henceforth be no more children,
10:47tossed to and fro,
10:48and carried about with every wind of doctrine,
10:51by the slight of men,
10:52and cunning craftiness,
10:54whereby they lie in wait to deceive.
10:57But, speaking the truth in love,
11:01may grow up into him in all things,
11:04which is the head,
11:05even Christ,
11:06from whom the whole body fitly joined together,
11:10and compacted by that which every joint supplieth,
11:14according to the effectual working in the measure of every part,
11:17maketh increase of the body,
11:19unto the edifying of itself in love.
11:23This I say therefore,
11:25and testify in the Lord,
11:27that ye henceforth walk,
11:29not as other Gentiles walk,
11:31in the vanity of their mind,
11:33having the understanding darkened,
11:35being alienated from the life of God,
11:38through the ignorance that is in them,
11:40because of the blindness of their heart,
11:42who being past feeling,
11:44have given themselves over unto lasciviousness,
11:47to work all uncleanness with greediness.
11:50But ye have not so learned Christ.
11:54If so be that ye have heard him,
11:56and have been taught by him,
11:58as the truth is in Jesus,
12:00that ye put off,
12:02concerning the former conversation,
12:04the old man,
12:06which is corrupt,
12:07according to the deceitful lusts,
12:09and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
12:12and that ye put on the new man,
12:14which after God is created,
12:17in righteousness and true holiness.
12:20Wherefore, putting away lying,
12:22speak every man truth with his neighbor,
12:25for we are members one of another.
12:27Be ye angry, and sin not,
12:30let not the sun go down upon your wrath,
12:33neither give place to the devil.
12:35Let him that stole steal no more,
12:38but rather let him labor,
12:40working with his hands the thing which is good,
12:43that he may have to give to him that needeth.
12:46Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth,
12:50but that which is good to the use of edifying,
12:53that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
12:56And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God,
12:59whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
13:02Let all bitterness,
13:04and wrath,
13:05and anger,
13:06and clamor,
13:07and evil speaking,
13:09be put away from you,
13:11with all malice,
13:12and be ye kind,
13:14one to another,
13:15tenderhearted,
13:16forgiving one another,
13:18even as God,
13:19for Christ's sake,
13:20hath forgiven you.
13:27Ephesians chapter 5
13:29Be ye therefore followers of God,
13:32as dear children,
13:33and walk in love,
13:35as Christ also hath loved us,
13:37and hath given himself for us an offering,
13:40and a sacrifice to God,
13:42for a sweet-smelling savor.
13:43But fornication,
13:45and all uncleanness,
13:47or covetousness,
13:48let it not be once named among you,
13:51as become of saints,
13:52neither filthiness,
13:54nor foolish talking,
13:55nor jesting,
13:56which are not convenient,
13:58but rather giving of thanks.
14:00For this ye know,
14:01that no whoremonger,
14:03nor unclean person,
14:04nor covetous man,
14:06who is an idolater,
14:07hath any inheritance,
14:09in the kingdom of Christ,
14:10and of God.
14:12Let no man deceive you,
14:13with vain words,
14:15for because of these things,
14:17cometh the wrath of God,
14:18upon the children of disobedience.
14:21Be not ye therefore partakers with them,
14:24for ye were sometimes darkness,
14:27but now are ye light,
14:30and the Lord walk as children of light.
14:34For the fruit of the Spirit
14:35is in all goodness,
14:37and righteousness,
14:38and truth,
14:39proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
14:42And have no fellowship,
14:44with the unfruitful works of darkness,
14:47but rather reprove them,
14:49for it is a shame,
14:51even to speak of those things,
14:53which are done of them in secret.
14:55But all things that are reproved,
14:57are made manifest by the light.
15:00For whatsoever doth make manifest,
15:02is light.
15:03Wherefore he saith,
15:05Awake,
15:05thou that sleepest,
15:07and arise from the dead,
15:09and Christ shall give thee light.
15:11See then that ye walk circumspectly,
15:15not as fools,
15:16but as wise,
15:18redeeming the time,
15:19because the days are evil.
15:22Wherefore be ye not unwise,
15:24but understanding
15:26what the will of the Lord is.
15:28And be not drunk with wine,
15:31wherein is excess,
15:33but be filled with the Spirit,
15:35speaking to yourselves
15:37in psalms and hymns
15:39and spiritual songs,
15:40singing and making melody in your heart,
15:43to the Lord,
15:44giving thanks always for all things
15:47unto God and the Father
15:48and the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15:51submitting yourselves one to another
15:53in the fear of God.
15:55Wives,
15:56submit yourselves unto your own husbands,
15:58as unto the Lord.
16:00For the husband is the head of the wife,
16:02even as Christ is the head of the church,
16:05and he is the Savior of the body.
16:07Therefore, as the church is subject unto Christ,
16:10so let the wives be to their own husbands
16:13and everything.
16:14Husbands,
16:15love your wives,
16:17even as Christ also loved the church
16:19and gave himself for it,
16:21that he might sanctify and cleanse it
16:23with the washing of water by the word,
16:26that he might present it to himself
16:28a glorious church,
16:29not having spot or wrinkle
16:31or any such thing,
16:33but that it should be holy
16:34and without blemish.
16:36So ought men to love their wives
16:38as their own bodies.
16:40He that loveth his wife
16:42loveth himself.
16:43For no man ever yet hated his own flesh,
16:47but nourisheth and cherisheth it,
16:49even as the Lord,
16:50the church.
16:51For we are members of his body,
16:53of his flesh,
16:55and of his bones.
16:57For this cause
16:58shall a man leave his father and mother
17:01and shall be joined unto his wife,
17:03and they too shall be one flesh.
17:06This is a great mystery.
17:08But I speak concerning Christ and the church.
17:12Nevertheless,
17:13let every one of you in particular
17:15so love his wife,
17:16even as himself,
17:17and the wife
17:18see that she reverence
17:20her husband.
17:28Ephesians,
17:28chapter 6
17:29Children,
17:31obey your parents in the Lord,
17:33for this is right.
17:34Honor thy father and mother,
17:36which is the first commandment
17:37with promise,
17:38that it may be well with thee,
17:40and thou mayest live long
17:41on the earth.
17:42And ye, fathers,
17:44provoke not your children to wrath,
17:46but bring them up
17:47in the nurture and admonition
17:48of the Lord.
17:50Servants,
17:50be obedient to them
17:52that are your masters
17:53according to the flesh,
17:54with fear and trembling,
17:56in singleness of your heart,
17:58as unto Christ,
18:00not with eye service
18:01as men pleasers,
18:03but as the servants of Christ,
18:05doing the will of God
18:06from the heart,
18:07with good will,
18:08doing service
18:09as to the Lord,
18:11and not to men,
18:12knowing
18:13that whatsoever good thing
18:15any man doeth,
18:16the same shall he receive
18:18of the Lord,
18:19whether he be bond
18:20or free.
18:21And ye masters,
18:23do the same things
18:24unto them,
18:25forbearing threatening,
18:26knowing that your master
18:28also is in heaven,
18:29neither is there
18:30respective persons
18:31with him.
18:32Finally,
18:33my brethren,
18:34be strong in the Lord
18:35and in the power
18:36of his might.
18:37Put on the whole armor
18:39of God,
18:40that ye may be able
18:42to stand
18:42against the wiles
18:44of the devil,
18:45for we wrestle
18:46not against flesh
18:47and blood,
18:48but against principalities,
18:50against powers,
18:51against the rulers
18:52of the darkness
18:53of this world,
18:55against spiritual wickedness
18:57in high places.
18:59Wherefore,
19:00take unto you
19:00the whole armor
19:01of God,
19:03that ye may be able
19:04to withstand
19:05in the evil day,
19:07and having done all,
19:09to stand.
19:10Stand therefore,
19:12having your loins
19:13girt about with truth,
19:14and having on the breastplate
19:16of righteousness,
19:17and your feet
19:18shod with the preparation
19:20of the gospel of peace.
19:22Above all,
19:23taking the shield
19:24of faith,
19:25wherewith ye shall be able
19:26to quench
19:27all the fiery darts
19:28of the wicked,
19:29and take the helmet
19:31of salvation,
19:32and the sword
19:33of the Spirit,
19:35which is
19:36the word
19:37of God.
19:39Praying always
19:40with all prayer
19:41and supplication
19:43in the Spirit,
19:44and watching thereunto
19:45with all perseverance
19:46and supplication
19:48for all saints,
19:49and for me,
19:50the utterance
19:51may be given unto me,
19:53that I may open
19:54my mouth boldly,
19:55to make known
19:56the mystery
19:57of the gospel,
19:58for which I am
