00:00The second epistle of Paul the Apostle to Timothy, King James Version, read by Justin
00:08Bible.
00:09May God bless you with an unquenchable thirst for his holy word, the Bible.
00:162 Timothy, chapter 1.
00:19Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which
00:26is in Christ Jesus.
00:27To Timothy, my dearly beloved son, grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ
00:34Jesus our Lord.
00:35I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing
00:41I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day, greatly desiring to see thee, being
00:47mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy.
00:51Anyway, when I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in
00:57thy grandmother Lois and thy mother Eunice, and I am persuaded that in thee also, wherefore
01:04I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting
01:10on of my hands.
01:12For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound
01:19mind.
01:20Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me, his prisoner.
01:26But be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God, who
01:31hath saved us and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according
01:38to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, but
01:45is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death,
01:52and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, whereunto I am appointed
01:59a preacher and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles, for the which cause I also suffer
02:06these things.
02:07Nevertheless, I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is
02:13able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
02:17Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love, which
02:24is in Christ Jesus.
02:26That good thing which was committed unto thee, keep by the Holy Ghost, which dwelleth in us.
02:33This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me, of whom are
02:39Phygelus and Hermogenes.
02:41The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus, for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed
02:48of my chain.
02:49But when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me.
02:53The Lord grant unto him, that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day.
02:58And in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.
03:092 Timothy, chapter 2
03:12Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
03:17And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful
03:23men, who shall be able to teach others also.
03:27Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
03:32No man that woreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please
03:39him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
03:42And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
03:50The husbandman that laboreth must be first partaker of the fruits.
03:55Consider what I say, and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.
04:01Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel,
04:09wherein I suffer trouble, as an evildoer, even unto bonds.
04:13But the word of God is not bound.
04:19Therefore, I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation
04:26which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
04:30It is a faithful saying, for if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him.
04:37If we suffer, we shall also reign with him.
04:41If we deny him, he also will deny us.
04:45If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful, he cannot deny himself.
04:52Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord,
04:57that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
05:03Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that need if not to be ashamed,
05:09rightly dividing the word of truth.
05:12But shun profane and vain babblings, for they will increase unto more ungodliness,
05:19and their word will eat as doth a canker.
05:22Of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus, who concerning the truth have erred,
05:28saying that the resurrection is past already, and overthrow the faith of some.
05:33Nevertheless, the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal,
05:38the Lord knoweth them that are his.
05:41And let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
05:47But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver,
05:52but also of wood and of earth, and some to honor, and some to dishonor.
05:57If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor,
06:02sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
06:09Flee also youthful lusts, but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace,
06:17with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
06:20But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
06:27And the servant of the Lord must not strive, but be gentle unto all men,
06:34apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves,
06:40if God, peradventure, will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth,
06:46and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil,
06:50who are taken captive by him at his will.
06:592 Timothy, Chapter 3
07:02This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come,
07:08for men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers,
07:15disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection,
07:22truce-breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
07:31traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures, more than lovers of God,
07:38having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.
07:42From such turn away, for of this sort are they which creep into houses and lead captive silly women laden
07:51with sins,
07:52led away with diverse lusts, ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
07:59Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth.
08:07Men of corrupt minds reprobate concerning the faith, but they shall proceed no further,
08:15for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.
08:21But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, long-suffering, charity, patience,
08:30perseverance, persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra.
08:37What persecutions I endured! But out of them all the Lord delivered me.
08:43Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
08:49But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
08:57But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned, and hast been assured of,
09:02knowing of whom thou hast learned them, and that, from a child, thou hast known the holy scriptures,
09:09which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
09:15All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof,
09:24for correction, for instruction, and righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect,
09:32throughly furnished unto all good works.
09:43I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ,
09:48who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom,
09:51preach the word, be instant, in season, out of season,
09:57reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all long-suffering and doctrine,
10:02for the time will come, when they will not endure sound doctrine,
10:07but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears,
10:14and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
10:21But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist,
10:29make full proof of thy ministry, for I am now ready to be offered.
10:37And the time of my departure is at hand.
10:43I have fought the good fight.
10:47I have finished my course.
10:51I have kept the faith.
10:56Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness,
11:01which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day,
11:07and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
11:15Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me,
11:18for Demas have forsaken me, having loved this present world,
11:23and has departed unto Thessalonica,
11:26Crescens to Galatia,
11:28Titus unto Dalmatia.
11:30Only Luke is with me.
11:32Take Mark and bring him with thee,
11:34for he is profitable to me for the ministry.
11:36And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.
11:40The cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus,
11:43when thou comest, bring with thee,
11:46and the books, but especially the parchments.
11:49Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil.
11:52The Lord reward him according to his works.
11:55Of whom be thou aware also,
11:57for he hath greatly withstood our words.
12:00At my first answer no man stood with me,
12:03but all men forsook me.
12:05I pray, God,
12:06that it may not be laid to their charge.
12:10Notwithstanding, the Lord stood with me,
12:12and strengthened me,
12:13that by me the preaching might be fully known,
12:16and that all the Gentiles might hear.
12:18And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
12:22And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work,
12:26and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom,
12:30to whom be glory forever and ever.
12:33Amen.
12:35Salute Prisca and Aquila,
12:36and the household of Onesiphorus.
12:39Erastus abode at Corinth,
12:41but Trophimus have I left at Miletum,
12:43sick.
12:44Do thy diligence to come before winter.
12:48Abelus greeteth thee,
12:50and Putins,
12:51and Linus,
12:52and Claudia,
12:53and all the brethren.
12:55The Lord Jesus Christ
12:57be with thy spirit.
13:00Grace be with you.
13:03Amen.
