00:07May God bless you with an unquenchable thirst for his holy word, the Bible.
00:15Obadiah, the vision of Obadiah.
00:18Thus saith the Lord God concerning Edom,
00:20We have heard a rumor from the Lord, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen.
00:25Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.
00:29Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen, thou art greatly despised.
00:34The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock,
00:39whose habitation is high, that saith in his heart,
00:43Who shall bring me down to the ground?
00:46Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars,
00:52thence will I bring thee down, saith the Lord.
00:55If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, how art thou cut off?
01:01Would they not have stolen till they had enough?
01:04If the grape-gatherers came to thee, would they not leave some grapes?
01:09How are the things of Esau searched out?
01:12How are his hidden things sought up?
01:15All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee even to the border.
01:19The men that were at peace with thee have deceived thee, and prevailed against thee.
01:23They that eat thy bread have laid a wound under thee.
01:26There is none understanding in him.
01:29Shall I not in that day, saith the Lord, even destroy the wise men out of Edom,
01:34and understanding out of the mount of Esau?
01:37And thy mighty men, O temen, shall be dismayed,
01:41to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.
01:45For thy violence against thy brother Jacob, shame shall cover thee,
01:49and thou shalt be cut off forever.
01:52On the day that thou stoodest on the other side,
01:55and the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces,
01:59and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem,
02:03even thou wast as one of them.
02:07But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother,
02:10in the day that he became a stranger.
02:13Neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction.
02:17Neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.
02:22Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people,
02:25in the day of their calamity.
02:27Yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction,
02:29in the day of their calamity.
02:31Nor have laid hands on their substance, in the day of their calamity.
02:34Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway,
02:37to cut off those of his that did escape.
02:40Neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his,
02:42that did remain in the day of distress.
02:45For the day of the Lord is near upon all the heathen.
02:48As thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee.
02:52Thy reward shall return upon thine own head.
02:56For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain,
02:59so shall all the heathen drink continually.
03:02Yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down,
03:04and they shall be as though they had not been.
03:07But upon Mount Zion shall be deliverance,
03:11and there shall be holiness,
03:14and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
03:19And the house of Jacob shall be afire,
03:22and the house of Joseph aflame,
03:24and the house of Esau for stubble.
03:27And they shall kindle in them,
03:28and devour them.
03:30And there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau.
03:33For the Lord have spoken it.
03:36And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau,
03:40and they of the plain,
03:41the Philistines,
03:42and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim,
03:44and the fields of Samaria,
03:46and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.
03:49And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel
03:52shall possess that of the Canaanites,
03:55even unto Zarephath.
03:57And the captivity of Jerusalem,
03:59which is since a Farid,
04:00shall possess the cities of the south.
04:02And saviors shall come up on Mount Zion
04:05to judge the mount of Esau,
04:07and the kingdom shall be the Lord's.
