00:00The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Colossians, King James Version, read by Justin Bible.
00:09May God bless you with an unquenchable thirst for his holy word, the Bible.
00:16Colossians chapter 1
00:18Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother, to the
00:25saints and faithful brethren in Christ, which are at Colossae, grace be unto you and peace
00:31from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
00:35We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since
00:41we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
00:46for the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the
00:51truth of the gospel, which is come unto you as it is in all the world, and bringeth forth
00:57fruit as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God
01:03in
01:03truth.
01:04As ye also learned of Epiphras, our dear fellow servant, who is for you a faithful minister
01:09of Christ, who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
01:14For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to
01:19desire
01:19that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will, and all wisdom and spiritual understanding,
01:25that ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work,
01:31and increasing in the knowledge of God, strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power,
01:37unto all patience and longsuffering, with joyfulness, giving thanks unto the Father,
01:42which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light, who have
01:47delivered us from the power of darkness, and have translated us into the kingdom of his
01:53dear Son, in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins, who
02:00is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature.
02:07For by him were all things created, that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible,
02:19whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers.
02:26All things were created by him and for him.
02:33And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
02:44And he is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead,
02:51that in all things he might have the preeminence.
02:56For it pleased the Father, that in him should all fullness dwell, and having made peace through
03:04the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself, by him I say, whether
03:11they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
03:14And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he
03:22reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and
03:29unreprovable in his sight.
03:31If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the
03:37gospel which ye have heard, and which was preached, to every creature which is under heaven, whereof
03:43I, Paul, am made a minister, who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which
03:50is behind of the afflictions of Christ, and my flesh for his body's sake, which is the
03:56church, whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to
04:02me for you, to fulfill the word of God.
04:06Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest
04:12to his saints, to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among
04:19the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory, whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching
04:29every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus, whereunto I also
04:37labor, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
04:50Colossians, Chapter 2
04:51For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea,
04:57and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, that their hearts might be comforted,
05:04being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the
05:09acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ, in whom are hid
05:16all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
05:21And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
05:26For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the Spirit, joying and beholding your
05:33order,
05:34and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.
05:37As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him, rooted and built up in him,
05:47and established in the faith as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
05:55Beware, lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men,
06:03after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
06:07For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and ye are complete in him,
06:15which is the head of all principality and power,
06:18and whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands,
06:24and putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,
06:30buried with him in baptism,
06:33wherein also ye are risen with him, through the faith of the operation of God,
06:38who have raised him from the dead.
06:40And you, being dead in your sins, and the uncircumcision of your flesh,
06:45hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses,
06:51blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us,
06:56which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way,
07:00nailing it to his cross.
07:02And having spoiled principalities and powers,
07:06he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
07:11Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink,
07:16or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days,
07:22which are a shadow of things to come,
07:24but the body is of Christ.
07:28Let no man beguile you of your reward,
07:32in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels,
07:35intruding into those things which he have not seen,
07:38vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
07:41and not holding the head,
07:43for which all the body by joints and bands,
07:46having nourishment ministered and knit together,
07:49increaseth with the increase of God.
07:52Wherefore, if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world,
07:57why, as though living in the world,
07:59are ye subject to ordinances,
08:02touch not, taste not, handle not,
08:04which all are to perish with the using,
08:08after the commandments and doctrines of men,
08:11which things have indeed a show of wisdom,
08:15and will, worship, and humility,
08:17and neglecting of the body,
08:19not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh.
08:27Colossians chapter 3
08:29If ye then be risen with Christ,
08:32seek those things which are above,
08:34where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
08:38Set your affection on things above,
08:40not on things on the earth.
08:42For ye are dead,
08:45and your life is hid with Christ in God.
08:49When Christ, who is our life,
08:52shall appear,
08:53then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
08:57Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth,
09:01fornication, uncleanness,
09:03inordinate affection,
09:05evil concupiscence,
09:06and covetousness,
09:08which is idolatry,
09:10for which things sake
09:11the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience,
09:15in the which ye also walked some time,
09:19when ye lived in them.
09:20But now ye also put off all these,
09:23anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy,
09:27filthy communication out of your mouth.
09:30Lie not one to another,
09:32seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds,
09:36and have put on the new man,
09:38which is renewed in knowledge,
09:40after the image of him that created him.
09:43Where there is neither Greek nor Jew,
09:46circumcision nor uncircumcision,
09:49barbarian,
09:50Scythian,
09:51bond,
09:51nor free,
09:52but Christ is all,
09:54and in all.
09:56Put on therefore,
09:58as the elect of God,
09:59holy and beloved,
10:01bowels of mercies,
10:03kindness,
10:05humbleness of mind,
10:06meekness,
10:07long-suffering,
10:09forbearing one another,
10:10and forgiving one another,
10:12if any man have a quarrel against any.
10:15Even as Christ forgave you,
10:18so also do ye.
10:20And above all these things,
10:22put on charity,
10:24which is the bond of perfectness.
10:27And let the peace of God rule in your hearts,
10:30to the which also ye are called in one body,
10:33and be ye thankful.
10:35Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly,
10:38in all wisdom,
10:40teaching and admonishing one another,
10:42in psalms and hymns,
10:44and spiritual songs,
10:45singing with grace in your hearts,
10:48to the Lord.
10:49And whatsoever ye do,
10:51in word or deed,
10:52do all,
10:53in the name of the Lord Jesus,
10:56giving thanks,
10:57to God and the Father,
10:59by Him.
11:00Wives,
11:01submit yourselves,
11:02unto your own husbands,
11:04as it is fit in the Lord.
11:06Husbands,
11:07love your wives,
11:08and be not bitter against them.
11:11Children,
11:12obey your parents in all things,
11:14for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
11:18Fathers,
11:19provoke not your children to anger,
11:21lest they be discouraged.
11:23Servants,
11:24obey in all things your masters,
11:26according to the flesh,
11:28not with eye service,
11:29as men pleasers,
11:31but in singleness of heart,
11:32fearing God.
11:34And whatsoever ye do,
11:36do it heartily,
11:38as to the Lord,
11:39and not unto men,
11:41knowing,
11:42that of the Lord,
11:43ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance,
11:46for ye serve the Lord Christ.
11:49But he that doeth wrong,
11:51shall receive,
11:52for the wrong which ye have done.
11:54And there is no respect,
11:56of persons.
12:06Colossians,
12:07chapter 4,
12:08Masters,
12:09give unto your servants
12:11that which is just and equal,
12:13knowing that ye also
12:14have a master in heaven.
12:16Continue in prayer,
12:18and watch in the same,
12:20with thanksgiving,
12:21with all,
12:22praying also for us,
12:24that God would open unto us
12:26a door of utterance,
12:28to speak the mystery of Christ,
12:30for which I am also in bonds,
12:33that I may make it manifest,
12:35as I ought to speak.
12:37Walk in wisdom toward them
12:39that are without,
12:40redeeming the time.
12:42Let your speech be all way,
12:44with grace,
12:45seasoned with salt,
12:47that ye may know,
12:48how ye ought to answer every man.
12:51All my state,
12:52shall Tichicus declare unto you,
12:54who is a beloved brother,
12:56and a faithful minister,
12:57and fellow servant in the Lord,
12:59whom I have sent unto you,
13:01for the same purpose,
13:02that he might know your estate,
13:04and comfort your hearts.
13:06With Onesimus,
13:07a faithful and beloved brother,
13:08who is one of you,
13:10they shall make known unto you,
13:11all things which are done here.
13:13Averstarchus,
13:14my fellow prisoner,
13:15saluteth you,
13:16and Marcus,
13:17sister's son to Barnabas,
13:19touching whom ye receive commandments,
13:21if he come unto you,
13:22receive him,
13:23and Jesus,
13:25which is called Justice,
13:26who are of the circumcision.
13:28These only are my fellow workers,
13:30unto the kingdom of God,
13:31which hath been a comfort unto me.
13:34Epaphras,
13:34who is one of you,
13:35a servant of Christ,
13:37saluteth you,
13:38always laboring fervently for you,
13:40in prayers,
13:41that ye may stand perfect,
13:42and complete,
13:43in all the will of God.
13:44For I bear him record,
13:46that he hath a great zeal for you,
13:49and them that are in Laodicea,
13:51and them in Hierapolis.
13:52Archippus,
13:53Luke,
13:54the beloved physician,
13:56and Demas,
13:57greet you,
13:58salute the brethren,
13:59which are in Laodicea,
14:00and Nymphus,
14:01and the church,
14:02which is in his house.
14:03And when this epistle is read among you,
14:06cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans,
14:09and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea,
14:13and say to Archippus,
14:15take heed to the ministry,
14:16which thou hast received in the Lord,
14:18that thou fulfill it.
14:20The salutation by the hand of me,
14:24Paul,
14:25remember my bonds.
14:29Grace be with you.
14:32Amen.
