00:00When Meadow first arrived, she was absolutely terrified.
00:05We immediately put her in the crate so she could decompress.
00:09She actually did not use the bathroom for over two days.
00:18But the moment that we saw her rolling over and showing us her belly, we knew that deep
00:23down in there, she wanted that human connection, she was just so beyond scared.
00:30It was very relieving to see Meadow finally feel some level of safeness to be able to use
00:37the bathroom, and that's how we knew that we were going in the right direction with her.
00:44She started wagging her tail first thing when I opened the door, it was just so heartwarming
00:51to see that we're building that connection, we're working on that trust, and she was
00:55just excited to see me.
00:58The first time that Meadow started chewing on a Playbone, I was like, oh my gosh, this
01:04is huge.
01:05She just wants to be a dog for the very first time in her life.
01:11The very first time that Meadow asked for attention, she actually pawed at us.
01:18We made sure to go in very, very gently, and we paused every couple of seconds just to
01:24get her approval to say if she still wants this or not.
01:31It took over a month for Meadow to get comfortable with the dog bed.
01:36The very first time she went in, she jumped out really quickly and was just looking at
01:40us like, am I going to get in trouble, like, is that okay?
01:44When she went back in, you just saw the tail wag and she was like, okay, this is exciting,
01:49this is good.
01:50Her discovering the dog beds was a really big boost of confidence and she was like, okay,
01:55what's next?
01:58When Meadow would come in from outside, she would run directly to her safe space, which
02:02was her crate, and eventually she would start running to her crate, and then she'd pause
02:07and stop and start running to the dog bed in our living room.
02:12You can really see Meadow thinking and processing and choosing to actually be brave in those moments.
02:18That means that the dog beds are a safe space for her.
02:20Our living room is a safe space for her, we're a safe space for her.
02:43The first time that Meadow got on the couch with me, she kind of put just her front two
02:46paws and I was like, come on, you can do it, you can do it.
02:49Like, really internally, I was like, oh my god!
02:55About four months in, we were on the floor playing with our dog and Meadow was just watching
03:02from the sidelines.
03:03But you could tell she really wanted to join, she just didn't know how.
03:07We want her to go at her own pace.
03:09Eventually, she got the courage to start playing and now she loves playing.
03:15Every time she sees Chris, she's like, let's go!
03:27This is Meadow's first time playing.
03:36She's never had love before and now that she's experienced, not only does she want to receive
03:42love but she wants to give love back.
03:43We're letting her become the dog that she's always meant to be from day one that no one
03:48gave her the opportunity to be.
03:50I wholeheartedly think that somebody is out there for Meadow.
03:54So, we just have to help her find them.
03:58gesagt.
03:59So, we don't have to go there, Right Matte!
04:04Here we go!
04:04Let's go.
04:05Can you bring us back?
04:06Come.
04:07Maybe what I would like?
04:07Maybe never.
