00:55Now that he was on his feet, Fergus needed a mare who could teach him how to be a horse.
01:00So that's when they turned to Priscilla,
01:02an experienced mama mare who had actually raised orphan foes before.
01:05Priscilla immediately connected with Fergus.
01:08But there was just one problem.
01:09Fergus couldn't quite figure out how to nurse.
01:12For some reason, it just wasn't coming natural to him.
01:15Eventually, Priscilla started showing signs that this arrangement wasn't working out for her.
01:19But the team knew that Fergus just needed another chance.
01:22That's when another horse owner who had saw Fergus' story on social media stepped forward.
01:26Her mare Mouse was still producing milk and there was potential that she could end up becoming his
01:30nurse mare. When the two met, they instantly clicked.
01:33Fergus latched on immediately and began nursing successfully and he finally had the mother he needed.
01:41Because his legs were still developing, the vets wheeled him around in his very own Fergus mobile,
01:46with Mouse walking right beside him.
01:48The vets gave him orthopedic shoes so he could straighten his legs,
01:50and from there, his progress accelerated.
