00:14when I saw her my heart was completely broken she was completely defeated oh honey oh my gosh
00:21the shelter staff actually had to bring her up to their main office where everybody was so that she
00:28wasn't alone in her kennel she actually had eight to ten buckshot pellets underneath her skin I could
00:36not stop thinking about how broken she looked a couple of days later we picked her up to bring
00:44her home to foster she kept looking back at the shelter doors she shook the entire way home when
00:56we got her home we set her up in a room completely by herself to decompress she would not eat
01:07in front
01:08of us I was trying to get her comfortable so I would put high-value treats and she would always
01:14come out of the crate and almost get to the end and then run back to her crate and just
01:20sit there
01:22I kept hearing something falling when she was eating and I discovered that she had been taking
01:29her metal bowl and just moving it to her bed when I first would take her outside she would go
01:38to the
01:38bathroom and then just sit there looking at the back door and just shaking very obviously frightened of
01:46being outside I would try to spend a little more time out there with her each day just to hear
01:53the sounds and
01:54smell the smells
01:58it took probably a week or two for her to finally settle down and lay in the grass
02:06my friendliest dog is Ellie and she snuck around me one day and honey's crate was open and honey actually
02:14tried to greet her and in that
02:16moment I thought she might be a little more ready to meet my dogs than I thought she really didn't
02:22interact with them outside
02:24belly give her safe but she was watching
02:30and one day Ellie started rolling
02:36honey was definitely watching
02:40then she tried it
02:44and it looked like she loved it
02:48and then when she started rubbing her nose in the grass
02:54and when she finally rolled I was ecstatic
03:03I was so happy because this was the beginning for her true personality to come out
03:12she sees what my dogs are doing and she's learning everything from them and it's just been so vital for
03:18her progress
03:19she randomly just wanted to play with the stuffed animal with Ellie and they both are sitting there
03:25chewing on it and then later on honey was by herself and she was playing with it and like pulling
03:31the stuffing
03:31out like a normal dog would do
03:34it's just a little
03:35this is not the same dog that I picked up
03:39we don't know her full background we don't know everything that's happened to her but she's obviously
03:45been traumatized
03:47and so for her to be brave and try as hard as she has it just makes me so proud
03:54of her
04:01I just know that there's somebody out there that will continue to give her the time, patience, and love that
04:08she deserves
