00:00To make it smell better in here, we've put a bunch of the dryer sheets.
00:06We will always start a show with them, but sometimes we do have to take them off.
00:09Dark Divine knows how to mess up a green room.
00:37What's up everybody? I am Robby, the guitar player from Dark Divine, and today we're going to be going over
00:42our threads that we like to wear on stage.
00:44Currently, we are on our first ever full US and some Canada headliner.
00:50It's been going absolutely fantastic. The response has been amazing so far.
00:56We're currently promoting our upcoming sophomore album, which is Undead Melody.
01:00Our most recent release is Midnight Masquerade, which we are playing on this tour as well.
01:06Let's get to it.
01:07First up is my outfit. As far as the jeans and all the under stuff is basically just Amazon.
01:16We kind of rip it up ourselves and do what we want with it.
01:19But the biggest part for what we wanted to do was match something to our album to tell a story.
01:29So with our upcoming album, Undead Melody, we wanted to incorporate the idea of the resurrection of the band.
01:37So on the album cover, which has already been released, there's four tombstones signifying four band members, the four of
01:45us, Robbie, Tristan, Anthony, and Corey.
01:48And each tombstone has a symbol on it to signify whose tombstone is whose.
01:53So with that in mind, we wanted to create a vest or a jacket, in Anthony's case, a blazer that
02:02incorporated those, but also showed a sense of we dug ourselves out of a grave.
02:08So very tattered and torn type of fabric and style.
02:14What we did was we reached out to Lee.
02:17I think a lot of people know about Lee with Saints of the Undead.
02:21Right off the rip, we knew Lee was who we wanted to go to.
02:25He did a fantastic job.
02:27So I'll show you off mine first.
02:30I'm the skeleton of the band.
02:32So we put some little skeleton doohickeys here.
02:37And I was really, really big on some of the stuff that Lee has done as far as wrestlers and
02:44like WWE.
02:45And I've seen this style where it was very shredded at the bottom.
02:49So I wanted that a little bit longer than what most jackets would be.
02:55So it comes down and hangs a little bit more.
03:00And what we did for my symbol, I wanted the coffin.
03:04So on the back, we have the coffin, which is also on my tombstone on the album cover.
03:13So it kind of, between the album cover and the threads, you know, the jackets, we're telling a story that
03:21intertwines all into one.
03:22So as far as like piecing everything together piece by piece, I do a lot of my shopping on Amazon.
03:29Especially when I'm on tour, it's the quickest way to get clothes to me in case I break clothes, which
03:34sometimes they rip, you're on tour.
03:37But what I did was, this is something, a style of shirt or hoodie.
03:41It's a sleeveless hoodie that I've worn on multiple tours.
03:45Always is like an undergarment just to kind of put the whole thing together.
03:48I got really, really tired of painting my arms every single day on every single tour.
03:56So what we came up with was getting these sleeves and then there's an extra pair that go over it
04:04that kind of give the same tattered and torn vibe just so everything is cohesive.
04:10I preferably needed the ones that have the thumb holes so I can play the guitar still and I still
04:16have free range to do everything that I need to do.
04:19It's just, as far as the jeans, tattered and torn, I wanted it to match.
04:23These are from Amazon as well.
04:26I'm lucky with Corey the Cryptid.
04:30Corey is very good at customizing clothes as they come.
04:35So I get a lot of help from Corey in that sense.
04:39And so with Corey the Cryptid, what we did was a very same type of vibe.
04:45However, Corey likes double shredded everything.
04:49So if you want to show off the front here.
04:52He likes the spikes.
04:54We got a patch here, which is something that just kind of customized his jacket to make it his.
05:01We actually cut out a lot of fabrics and put in some mesh.
05:06This was a big work of art that Lee put together to really make it look like we've all been
05:12digging ourselves out of a grave.
05:16A big thing that we wanted to do with Lee, which I think it's on this side right here.
05:20We wanted to make sure that Saints of the Undead, which is Lee's company, got the recognition that it deserves
05:25for creating these for us.
05:27On the back, as we were saying earlier, Corey's symbol is the tombstone RIP, which is also on the album.
05:35So that signifies whose tombstone is whose.
05:39And what he likes to do is the extra shreds down here at the bottom, a little bit longer than
05:46most.
05:47It just kind of ties together the whole tattered and torn vibe.
05:51Which is actually really cool is he'll find the Halloween spider webbing on Amazon by tons of it.
06:01And just rip it up, tie it to his belt loop, tie it to his belt, anything it can be
06:05tied to.
06:06We attach it just to give it a little bit more extra flair.
06:09So also what we have paired with Corey is a cool endorsement that we got from Tuck Shoewear Footwear.
06:17We have the, these will be platform boots and give him a little bit of extra height.
06:24And it's what's most comfortable for him on stage.
06:27That's probably the most important part when it comes to our wardrobe is our feet need to be comfortable to
06:32do what we're doing on a nightly basis.
06:34For me, I'm plain Jane. I'm simple. I love Vans.
06:39My feet are really wide. So it's hard to find shoes that I'm comfortable in.
06:44Once I do, I stick with that forever.
06:47I've got three more pairs of these and I just, they got the extra tread on the bottom.
06:52So whether I'm loading in through snow, loading in through rain or just a really hot day or walking on
06:59sand, who knows?
07:00These do the job for me.
07:02Coming up next would be Anthony's. Anthony went a little bit different.
07:06We wanted the singer of the band to have a little bit different of a vibe than what the rest
07:11of the band was doing.
07:13So Corey here will grab. We've got a nice little blazer for Anthony that lead from Saints of the Undead
07:18put together.
07:19And if you pay attention to the album cover, this symbol is on a coffin as well, signifying Anthony's grave.
07:27We put a lot of mesh on the outside, studded it together to give it, once again, that tattered and
07:33torn vibe.
07:36I think every single one we kind of added a little skull. It's just on brand and it felt right
07:43to do.
07:45On the front, once again, we wanted to show off that these were done by Saints of the Undead.
07:52Did an absolutely fabulous job. Shout out to Lee once again.
07:56Anthony's really big into chain work, so we added some chains to his.
08:00Lots of studs. And believe it or not, these are actually kind of heavy.
08:04So sometimes in shows, we have to take them off. Depending on how hot it is, we will always start
08:10a show with them, but sometimes we do have to take them off.
08:12So with also including from the chains and the studs is we added some like more reflective like plates onto
08:20Tony's, Anthony's.
08:23It just reflects light a little bit better from photo shoots to video shoots, anything like that.
08:29Sometimes if we can capture the right amount of color or the right amount of reflection of color, it just
08:34seems to blend better.
08:35So with Anthony, as far as the pants go, once again, just like with the blazer being a little bit
08:41different from actual denim vests, he likes to wear dress pants, throw on some suspenders, just to kind of separate
08:49him from the band and put him into his own kind of entity.
08:54Sometimes they'll have like nice little skull designs on the dress pants and he'll wear the dress shoes with them
09:00and it just ties the whole thing together for him.
09:02Next up, we have Tristan's jacket, which we wanted to follow the same vibe as all instrumentalists in the band
09:11are with the denim look.
09:15And because Tristan is sometime, well, all the time behind the drum set and not always the most seen, we
09:20wanted to add the diamond plates as well or the clear plates, reflect the plates on there just to kind
09:25of get a little bit of more lighting.
09:26When you have a really cool light show, reflects off, you see the drummer a little bit better.
09:31We added some spikes as well.
09:35Once again, we have the skulls on here, just a nice little nod to, you know, being on brand with
09:41us.
09:43We, once again, wanted to show off on each jacket that Saints of the Undead has done it for us.
09:48On the back, it's really cool with his, there's like a bunch of punch through holes just to make it
09:57look even more tattered and torn.
09:59And as you can see, this is also a reflection of the tombstone on the album cover, which signifies Tristan's
10:07grave as well.
10:09Got some like paper clips just to give it a more stitched together vibe and more mesh on the outside
10:17of this, more ripped and just ties the whole thing together for him.
10:21So with Tristan's, it was definitely much more a Hellraiser inspired.
10:26Tristan's a big fan of the Hellraiser franchise, the Hellraiser movies.
10:30Over here, we have the safety pins just to kind of give it that whole vibe.
10:37Tristan is actually the only one that has spikes on both shoulders because he doesn't have to have a guitar
10:44strap over the left or over on the right.
10:47So which added a little bit more extra weight to it.
10:51So sometimes throughout the set, you'll see Tristan throw this off as fast as he can because he's drumming with
10:56weights on his shoulders basically.
10:58So typically on every tour, the whole band always has backup wardrobe.
11:03I think we were rushing so much to get into this tour that most of us forgot our backups.
11:09However, luckily, Cory has some backups for us to show off today.
11:14So first off, Cory likes to wear a lot of capes, cardigans.
11:20This is from a company in Los Angeles called Blackwell.
11:24So this is a good backup for them.
11:26Sometimes the backups are necessary if you haven't found laundry for a couple of days and you're tired of spraying
11:33them down with the Bouncer laundry spray to make it smell a little bit better.
11:37Sometimes that can only go so far.
11:40This is actually, if I'm correct, a piece that Cory created himself.
11:49And this is a solid backup.
11:51It goes along with the denim vibe.
11:53It goes along with the spikes.
11:55These are like really cool and different spikes.
11:57They kind of got more of like a reptilian vibe to them is what I will call it.
12:03On the back, it kind of looks like there's scratches through the back.
12:07We added some of that same mesh or that, you know, spider webbing that you can get on Amazon Halloween
12:13Decor.
12:15Once again, we always want some hanging, tattered and torn fabric.
12:21So he added that on the actual inside of the jacket.
12:27That way he doesn't have to tie it to his belt loop.
12:29Just throws this on every day and let's hang and we're good for show.
12:34There's actually a really cool design on this too.
12:42Pull it out a little bit more.
12:44We're going to call that a cryptid deathclaw.
12:47So the band has been wanting to get a wardrobe case for quite some time.
12:52But with the headliner coming up, we wanted to save as much money as we could.
12:56So what we did was we completely ripped apart our old god rack is what we called it.
13:03We kept all of our old Kemper profilers in here.
13:06A lot of our wireless gear used to be in here.
13:08We completely stripped it.
13:10And what we did was we added a bar that is now broken on the inside that goes to the
13:18outside.
13:20And we just hang all of our backups in here, all of our main wardrobe in here.
13:25We even added like a little bit of the padded flooring that you put down in gyms or garages or
13:31karate studios sometimes.
13:34Just to kind of keep it away from everything down here.
13:39To make it smell better in here, we've put a bunch of the dryer sheets just to save us when
13:47we go to open this thing up every day.
13:49So this is my main makeup station on a daily basis.
13:54I try to keep it as condensed as possible just because sometimes you have to really hurry up quick and
14:00do it.
14:00And you don't want to take up too much space or you don't have enough space to do it.
14:05This is my favorite thing in the world right now.
14:08It's dark from Stranger Things.
14:11It keeps me motivated to stay spooky and get in the spooky zone.
14:15The makeup that I like to use, we actually have a really cool partnership with Mayron Paradise is the type
14:25that we use.
14:27And I have all different types of colors.
14:30I buy them in the big pups just because I go through so much of it.
14:34Some of these, like this one, are neon reactive.
14:37So if we have good blue lighting at a show, I'll throw this on, give the face paint a little
14:42bit more of a pop and let it glow.
14:45The two main ones that I always use are Mayron Paradise Black.
14:54And then also Mayron Paradise White.
14:56That's always the main base to everything that I do.
15:00It's what I'm wearing right now.
15:02Just plain white, plain black.
15:04As far as the contacts go, I do get my contacts from a company called Gothic Rebel or Gothica.
15:12It's two different websites that I'm able to get them through.
15:16They have a ton of selections, but I like to stick with the Purple Temptress or the Blinding Zombie Eye.
15:22And on this tour, I typically always wear the Purple Temptress, but one of them tore.
15:29And I didn't feel quite safe putting that in my eyeball.
15:32So I've been putting two different contacts in.
15:35The only issue with the blinding one is I can't see out of this eye.
15:39Maybe like 20% vision out of that eye.
15:42The rest I can see directly out of this.
15:43So it saves me enough to be able to get the job done.
15:46So on a typical show day, even if we have VIP early or if we don't have VIP and we're
15:54just on a support tour opening up,
15:56sometimes all four members will rush in here and we all claim a space and try to get the makeup
16:01on.
16:03Dark Divine knows how to mess up a green room.
16:05That's for sure.
16:06We end up having to leave a lot of stuff behind.
16:09But for Corey and myself, it takes about an hour to an hour and a half to do our makeup.
16:15Sometimes if we want to get really, really detailed with it and we're feeling extremely motivated that day,
16:20take up to two, two and a half hours.
16:22It just depends on how much time we have.
16:25Tristan and Anthony aren't necessarily as involved with as much makeup.
16:32It's kind of more of a simple base for them.
16:34That'll take anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes for them.
16:36The inspiration behind the looks that we do on tour are actually from our makeup artists that unfortunately we're not
16:42able to bring out on tour with us.
16:44She does all of our music videos when we're in Florida, which is most of the time that we do
16:49the music videos are in Florida.
16:51Her name is Kristen Smith. Shout out to Kristen.
16:54She created our characters when we were in the midst of making our first EP, Halloween Town.
17:00And me specifically, I realized I would have to go on tour and figure out how to do my own
17:06makeup.
17:07So shout out to her for creating these characters for us and then being willing to take the time and
17:14the patience to teach me how to do something of my own.
17:17Typically, Tony would be here to shout out this brand for himself, but unfortunately we've been traveling through a lot
17:23of wet and cold weather for the last two weeks.
17:26So he is feeling under the weather.
17:27Anthony is a big fan of a brand out of Toronto called Vitaly.
17:30They do a lot of jewelry work, necklaces.
17:34I believe they do rings and bracelets as well.
17:36The funny thing is Anthony disappeared in Toronto.
17:40We had no idea where he was and that's when we found out that Vitaly had their store, their headquarters
17:44in Toronto.
17:45And that's where he was for about two to three hours.
17:49Also with our drummer Tristan, he likes to use a brand for jewelry through Pray For Us.
17:56Pray For Us is a company that we have worked with in the past, very, very big fans of.
18:01Very good friends with Nick Robo who runs Pray For Us and he's provided us a lot of cool shirts
18:07just to be comfortable when we're not on stage and we're off the stage relaxing.
18:12And he also makes a lot of really cool jewelry as well.
18:14So shout out to Pray For Us.
18:15So coming out in May is our upcoming album Undead Melody.
18:19There are 13 tracks on there and multiple tracks that are still yet to be released.
18:25And the next month or so we will be going out on tour in Europe again for our second time.
18:32We'll be hitting the United Kingdom, Germany, tons of really, really cool places.
18:37Follow the band on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube.
18:43You'll find us very, very active on those channels.
18:46TikTok as well, Dark Divine Official.
18:48You'll find us on every platform at Dark Divine Official.
18:51You can buy exclusive merch or leftover tour merch for the most part at darkdivineofficial.com.
19:17We'll see you next time.
19:18We'll see you next time.
