00:00Do not drop the deuce on the bus toilet.
00:02Nobody's got sick yet on this trip, so knock on wood!
00:06These are actually mine, but Gunn's has been so generous with his food, I labeled one of mine with his name.
00:30Who da? Who da? Oh, it's you. Come on in.
00:46Welcome to our humble abode. I'm Ron Reinhart from the LA Cafe Mission Dark Angel.
00:50And this, this is our home away from home.
00:53What's up? We're currently out here on the road promoting extinction level event.
00:57The tour's been going great. We've been thrashing it up everywhere.
01:01A lot of crowd surfing, a lot of pits, a lot of stage diving.
01:04Everything that we're all about, as you can see in the front of the bus in the day,
01:08this turns into pretty much the tour manager's workstation at night.
01:13And in the early hours of the morning, whoever's up, Baldo, Andrew,
01:16come here and keep our bus driver slick Ricky company.
01:20And yeah, it's just rolling along super smooth.
01:23So this is the main lounge, the front lounge.
01:26We got the TV here. Sometimes we watch wrestling or movies or whatever,
01:30something stupid or funny, you know, something that just takes the day away,
01:34you know, nothing too involved. We don't really watch a lot of sports here,
01:38even though we have some of our crew guys that are into that, you know,
01:42usually Oscar and I will watch wrestling in the back, but we'll get to that.
01:46And as you see, this is my lovely band members, Michael Gonzalez, Eric Meyer,
01:51the lovely Laura Christine. So in our front lounge, we have stuff stored everywhere.
01:57Like this is all my miscellaneous catch all garbage.
02:01Down here in all these shelves, we usually have a ton of water because we drink water
02:06constantly because that's our number one, well, number one beverage, but bottled water is for
02:11mostly the LA caffeine machine coffee station, which as you can tell, we're all about the coffee.
02:18We just don't say LA caffeine machine for nothing. This is what we run and live on.
02:22So this is one of the most important features of the bus is the coffee maker.
02:27Helps us get through the day without doing anything bad or hurting anybody.
02:31Not only that, it is our second coffee maker that we've gone through on this journey.
02:35The first one died on us already.
02:37Yeah, exactly.
02:39Excellent note there.
02:40Yeah, right.
02:41As you know, we are the LA caffeine machine, so we do go through copious amounts of caffeine
02:46on a daily basis.
02:48All the lemons and ginger, if you don't know, this is one thing you always want on the road with you,
02:53an apple cider vinegar.
02:54We're so prone on not being sick and knelling it every night.
02:58These two things always help that.
03:01Nobody's got sick yet on this trip, so knock on wood that we keep it that way,
03:06because it's kind of unusual with the tour, you know.
03:09It just happens, but fortunately it hasn't happened to us.
03:11Yeah, we can contribute to this these two things for for sure, definitely.
03:16So right here in the front in the kitchen area, we have a little overflow for beverages.
03:20So at every night, the end of every night, we get ice and freshen it up.
03:24So we have cold beverages, so we can keep the fridge just packed with all the food.
03:30So on our cabinet space in our refrigerator is all the stuff from our Ryder.
03:34Ryder, we have protein bars, mixed nuts, honey, of course.
03:38That's pretty much for me since I'm the vocalist.
03:41In the fridge, we always go with leafy greens for Lara.
03:45We always go with, we try to do like lunch meat and fruit.
03:48We try to be as healthy as we can out here, even though it's hard, because we do shopping places
03:53like Chicago, known for the pizza, or New York, or any place that has killer Mexican food.
03:58We are being there, so we try to eat as healthy as we can.
04:02A lot of the stuff left over on the Ryder makes it way on the bus,
04:05so those long travel days when there's no buckies around and you're not going to stop,
04:10we just live off the land.
04:12The tour manager station is that passenger seat next to the bus driver.
04:16There's his printer and that's where he camps out.
04:18He'll even camp out on this counter space.
04:20He's very kind and gracious to us and lets us have that main table.
04:25When we're either eating, I'm putting on makeup or signing.
04:30We've got those three boxes of vinyl inserts.
04:35Yeah, that's our brand new record, the inserts for it, so everybody has to sign it.
04:38Yeah, so there it is right there, all those pieces.
04:43Done on that table.
04:44So this area right here is actually a slide out.
04:47It gives us about another four feet of room to where you can't touch, you can just walk by easily.
04:53We're on the streets of Chicago here, so we can't slide it out without somebody possibly hitting it or
04:58getting a ticket or whatnot, but usually on the daily, that's the first thing it does is to slide out.
05:03You cannot have anybody on it except for her because she's the lightest one of us,
05:07so she's the only one that can actually sit when it goes in and out.
05:10So none of us get to go on that spectacular ride, but you know, that'd be something we'd love.
05:16So this is the freezer.
05:17This is not stuff from the rider.
05:19This is from late night Walmart stops or anytime Walmart stops.
05:23In our young age, we really wanted to stop for booze all the time, but you know,
05:27now that we're a lot more responsible, the Walmart stops and getting food and fresh socks or whatever
05:33like that turns out to be the most important thing that we'll actually wake each other up for.
05:37You're not allowed to wake anybody up, but if you're at a Buc-ee's or a Walmart,
05:40then people would be like, wake me up no matter what.
05:43Yeah, serious stuff.
05:44So as you can see in here, there's, there's names and whatnot.
05:48So this is Gon's and Laura, they both live on the frozen food type of thing.
05:52These are actually mine, but Gon's has been so generous with his food.
05:56I labeled one of mine with his name because he's been sharing, so we hooked him up.
06:01They became best friends on this road.
06:03We did.
06:04Because Gon's, no matter what he gets, he always knows.
06:06I got a little bit left over for Laura because we call her long fork.
06:11Well, that's a whole nother store.
06:12We're not even going to get best set for another bus tour.
06:14Yeah, we don't even want to travel down that alley right now.
06:17So these are the day sheets our TM Austin puts up every day to our manager.
06:22What we got going on to the day, what our schedule is loading, if there's showers,
06:26if there's laundry available, what time is the curfew?
06:29Because I need to know that because I got to either rush the set or we'll pull the song
06:34or depending on when they want to kick us out.
06:36And then what time, the most important thing is what time is the bus call, you know?
06:40So we always get those things somewhere.
06:42And then if these get updated, we just get a mass band message like,
06:46hey, this is updated because of course, he's not going to run in here and print that out.
06:49He'll just update us like this has changed because we've had that all the time.
06:53Anybody who's toured know that on the daily things change sporadically.
06:57So we always go here first and then we all have the app.
07:00Baldo, our drum tech, almost got left behind in Fort Lauderdale.
07:03He was literally chasing after the bus.
07:06It was bad.
07:07So this is muy importante.
07:09Yeah.
07:10Bathroom.
07:11Everything is a Star Trek door here.
07:13What I mean by that is, you know, a Star Trek door type of thing.
07:18So if it's closed, obviously somebody's in it.
07:20And yeah, it's got a nice dimmer here for at night.
07:24You want that thing dark because when you walk out of bunk alley in the middle of the night
07:28and you have that going on, it's like you can't even see where the toilet is.
07:31But yeah, it's one of the perks of being on the bus.
07:36But everybody knows this rule.
07:38You do not drop the deuce on the bus toilet.
07:41So we have 12 bunks on this bus.
07:43We have 11 people.
07:44So we have one junk bunk on this bus.
07:47So that's like a catch-all for those who don't know what a junk bunk is.
07:50It's like anything you don't want to go in and out of the luggage base for on a daily basis.
07:55Um, this here happens to be my bunk.
07:57I always pick this side, passenger side, just injuries, shoulder.
08:02I sleep on this side mostly.
08:04Um, it's a catch-all in the day.
08:05It's like I got my extra leather vest here.
08:08I got my bag that Oscar made me with all my stuff for the gig in it here.
08:11You know, just keep your clothes or whatever in here that you have.
08:15And we always keep them closed.
08:16I got this cool green light that Oscar hooked me up with because, you know, it's not really bright.
08:20And then at night if you turn it on because you need to find something, you're not blind in the bag.
08:25They also snap and whatnot.
08:26They have individual AC units for them.
08:29So you can either open your vents or close your vents.
08:31All these people like to be freezing cold at night.
08:34My wife will testify.
08:35I hate being cold.
08:36I live in Arizona.
08:37I love the heat.
08:39My vents not only close, but I put a pillow up against it.
08:42No air is coming into my bunk.
08:44If you come down bunk alley here, the rest of the bunks, this is the bath lounge,
08:48which, uh, this is the warmest lounge in here.
08:51So at night, if it's cold, I will come back here and just chill.
08:55And Oscar and I will watch, uh, wrestling on this.
08:58Um, Andrew, our merch guy loves baseball.
09:01So if we can't get baseball live, he will pretty much set his laptop here and watch it.
09:06And we'll roll like TV and that, um, these are all of our best.
09:11Everything can go in the trailer.
09:13Like all the clothes can go in the trailer, but you never want to put cold, wet leather
09:18in a trailer because then it gets crispy.
09:20And like this thing, I sweat through every night.
09:23Like it'll literally, you could squeeze it and squeeze out of it.
09:28And, you know, just basic, this is another table, which we actually wish this table wasn't here
09:32because it'd be better if the table just came here, you know, you have more lounge space.
09:36So it kind of defeats the purpose of, you know, if you're back here, you're, you know, it's comfy,
09:42but it's not as comfortable if this was gone and you use that for a little stoop.
09:46But we also put like backpacks here and then everybody's got their clothes or shoes.
09:50Or sometimes, uh, if you have a miscellaneous items, like I got that junk drawer up there
09:56for all of my catch-all.
09:57We all just have our own drunk drawer wherever, you know, wherever we can fit it.
10:02It also turns into a jamming station.
10:04We've got our tiny guitar amps here and our cables and we pull our, yeah.
10:09So we're always working on new material and whatnot.
10:11So it's turned into a little jam studio right here.
10:14Yeah, so if Eric and Lara and Jean are back here jamming or whatnot, the rest of us will kind of be up front.
10:19You know, so we're really, you know, we always notice where everybody's at and what's going on.
10:25So we don't, we don't have anything like, oh, this is where I chill.
10:28You know, we're just wherever we, whatever we need to do, wherever we need to do it.
10:32You know, we're all pretty courteous about that.
10:34Like, oh, you're eating here, take my spot, you know, because I'm just sitting there playing with my phone.
10:39You know, so, and also the back lounge is used for quiet space, you know, because watch if you come in here, close this door.
10:47It makes it pretty solid to where it's quiet.
10:50So if you want to call, like, I'll call my wife from back here.
10:54A lot of times what I do back here, if I call her, I'll FaceTime her because, you know, I miss seeing her face.
10:58So I'll do that back here.
10:59Or we're, sometimes we're miles away from the venue and the venue's super cold and that's, it's hard to warm up.
11:07We'll change, take turns changing back here and we'll just warm up on the bus and then go to the venue.
11:12You know, like we did yesterday at Reggie's, no, we're at Reggie's today in Chicago.
11:16Yesterday was Cleveland, the, I can't think of the name of the venue, but super, super nice, packed place.
11:23We warmed up pretty much on the bus.
11:25We walked to the venue, got our guitars.
11:26I just walked from the back of the crowd to the stage when it was well singing because it was just, it was easier.
11:32You know, it was just easier to do.
11:34So every day you just kind of pick and choose what you need to get done.
11:38So we're out here promoting Extinction Level Event.
11:40This is our first time touring about 34 plus years.
11:44If you need to find out anything about Dark Angel, we have all the socials, Facebook, Instagram.
11:50Hit us up on there, reversed records, download the album, check us out.
11:55It's easy.
11:56You just punch in Dark Angel thrash anywhere and you will find us.
12:00So all of you out there, we're going to see you on the road.
12:04We're going to thrash like our life depends on it because it does.
12:08So thank you for hanging out with us here.
12:10We're going to get ready for the show and it's been great.
12:15Look at the very fast turbo action Star Trek door.
12:21Get out there, we're going to get ready for the show.
12:29So we're going to get ready.
12:33Let's get ready.
12:33We're going to get ready for the show.
12:35Let's get ready.
12:37Let's get ready.
12:39Let's get ready.
