00:00So Mikey is a little bit of a maniac. He likes to listen to lo-fi beats along with Brendan
00:03as well.
00:04The rule is to not put anything too smelly in there because no one wants to deal with fish or
00:08anything like that.
00:35Hey, what's going on? This is Aker and James from Set for Tomorrow and we are on our first US
00:39tour with Dark Divine and Nine of Space.
00:42Let's check out the spaceship.
00:44Welcome to the front of the van. This is the driver's seat, of course, and our primary driver at night
00:48is Brendan, our bassist.
00:50We usually do it in shifts if we have longer drives, so it'll be like Brendan, then it'll be Mikey,
00:55then it'll be Sean, and then myself, and we'll just kind of rotate it in and out.
00:57As you can see, this is the front of the vehicle. We have a lot of medication and things like
01:03vitamin C, hand sanitizer, tissues.
01:05We've been pretty sick on this tour, so we've needed a lot of that to keep us through it.
01:10Yeah, this is the insurance right here to make sure that we're not shaking hands after someone doesn't wash their
01:14hands.
01:15It's very important, very important. Hygiene is very important to us.
01:19Alright, so co-pilot responsibilities. I play passenger princess a lot.
01:23My job is usually to be paired up with Mikey when he's driving, and we usually just listen to podcasts
01:30and strange stories in the middle of the night.
01:33Stuff that keeps you awake that would probably give you nightmares, but it helps, you know?
01:37You've got to make sure you keep him awake.
01:38Keep him on his toes, so yeah.
01:41So Mikey is a little bit of a maniac. He likes to listen to lo-fi beats, along with Brendan
01:45as well.
01:46I don't know how they do it that would put me asleep, but that's some of their main tracks when
01:49on the road and trying to focus.
01:51I need something a bit more upbeat, unfortunately, when I'm driving at night.
01:55Yeah, I'm all over the place. I have to, the lo-fi beats definitely have me start nodding out in
01:59the front seat, for sure.
02:00I don't know how they do it, but I guess it helps them walk in and focus, so whatever works,
02:04as long as we get there in one piece.
02:06Yeah, so right here we've got an AC unit. It's just AC, so no heat.
02:10Often we do, you know, tours and it gets really hot in the van with six people or so.
02:14So we need to, you know, of course, keep it cool at night to make sure that we can actually
02:17sleep.
02:18In the winter, though, we just use it for moving air around. There's pipes back here as well.
02:22We can angle in certain directions and help us all stay cool and warm.
02:25Welcome to the middle. This is, uh, this is where it was mostly our living space.
02:29We've got our, well, we've got our mini fridge, which, um, the rule is to not put anything too smelly
02:35in there,
02:35because no one wants to deal with fish or anything like that. That's crazy.
02:39Yeah. And then back here we have our wonderful sweet beds.
02:44Yeah, we got two up top, two in the middle, one on the bottom.
02:46And our, unfortunately, our content, our crew person has to sleep on the bench,
02:49because we don't have enough space, unfortunately.
02:52There it is. There it is. For the bottom. So, yeah.
02:56We got all the bunks that we needed, and it was a pretty big build.
02:58I've got to give a shout-out to Cobretti Bardoli from SinkIn.
03:01He helped us make this thing what it is.
03:03Obviously, the fridge has, you know, and everything else has to have some power,
03:07so it's kind of hard to see, but we've got, like, two batteries underneath of it all.
03:10We've got solar panels on the top. We've got an inverter and everything to make it all happen
03:14and give us power, like that power outlet right there.
03:17We've got a bunch throughout the bunks as well, so everybody can charge their phones,
03:20charge their laptops, whatever they need through the tour.
03:23All right. So, we've been getting a lot of stickers, whether it's from Thriller
03:26or from some of the other bands that we've toured with, and we wanted to really deck it out.
03:30Some of these I actually got from my wife as well.
03:32I thought they were pretty funny, so we wanted to deck out the fridge a bit.
03:35So, we've obviously got a lot of real estate left, so we're going to fill it out the best we
03:38can.
03:38But let's actually look on the inside. Unfortunately, we are very disorganized when it comes to this fridge
03:44because we don't have a lot of space, so it's kind of where things fit.
03:47I have, like, my breakfast oats right here.
03:49Mikey's got a half-eaten Reese's bar. He loves Reese's, by the way.
03:52And a couple energy drinks, beer, maybe some vegetables in there that we have left over.
03:58So, trying to keep it filled with some necessities, but, yeah, we don't have a lot of space in it,
04:03unfortunately.
04:04Well, every van needs a trash can, of course, so we've got a little small trash can for anything we
04:08need along the way.
04:09No food, of course.
04:10We've got a humidifier because we noticed that, at night, we've been, on these cold nights,
04:14we've been waking up with really sore, dry throats.
04:16We definitely need that to make sure we're at our best when singing.
04:19I've got some protein right here after the gym.
04:22Now we kind of see a little bit more of the technical side of things.
04:25We've got the inverter that basically converts all of the battery power to basically AC.
04:30So, we have all the AC outlets, if you can maybe see in the bunks on the back side.
04:35Yeah, in the back right and back left, there's a couple outlets.
04:39Everybody's got their own.
04:40So, that's what powers it all.
04:41Same thing with the fridge.
04:42We've got a kettle down here, mostly for like tea or like, you know, boiling some water.
04:46And then in the back, we actually got the batteries, which we got two of them to help power it
04:50all.
04:50So, a normal drive for us, usually our content person or whoever's the extra is going to have to give
04:57up a little bit of their real estate to everybody else.
04:59And we all do some work on the road.
05:02I'll do some design stuff.
05:02Mikey does some mixing stuff, Brandon does photography stuff.
05:05So, it's usually laptop central from here forward.
05:08Everyone's sitting here with their laptops out, iPad, whatever it may be.
05:11And that's usually the walk-in for most of the drive, I would say, if no one's napping.
05:15Yeah, and I'll be in the bunks sometimes just chilling right here with my laptop bouncing because I can't keep
05:20it straight because the vehicle's moving.
05:21But I'll be trying to work as well.
05:23Yeah.
05:24Alright.
05:25Alright, so this is...oh no.
05:27I got it.
05:28This is the back side of the bunks.
05:30As I mentioned, we've got some power outlets for everybody.
05:33Obviously, we've got some stuffed animals, pillows, some additional workout equipment or workout supplements, that is.
05:39Yeah, pretty straight forward.
05:40Got our bunks.
05:41Sean's got the coolest stickers and stuff down here.
05:43You've got the Jutsu Kaisen Panda and Charmander.
05:48Yeah, Charmander.
05:49Pretty sweet.
05:49Yeah.
05:50And if you've noticed, we also have these reflecties cut out, put onto all of our windows.
05:56One of it kind of helps keep in heat, also keeps heat out.
06:00Yeah, so it blocks out the sun, so it helps out when the first thing in the morning, if you
06:03want to crash and sleep in a little bit.
06:05The other part of that is...well, we have stickies that we'll pull off the side, too, so we can get
06:10some scenic views.
06:11Yeah, so they do come off if we need to, and they're blind spots and stuff.
06:14But yeah, mostly multi-purpose for insulation and also keeping up the sun, like Aker said.
06:19Thank you guys so much for hanging out with us.
06:20We are set for tomorrow.
06:21You can check out all our stuff on our website, sftofficial.com.
06:26Yep, and if you want to catch us live, we're also going to be playing Louder Than Life, which is
06:30super sick.
06:31It's going to be our first official festival that we're on, so it's going to be freaking awesome.
06:35Thank you guys so much for hanging out.
06:37Thanks.
06:37Yeah.
06:38You.
06:51You.
06:58You.
07:00We'll see you next time.
