00:48Hello everybody, my name is Pai. I play guitar in the band Lord of the Lost.
00:52We are currently on the Dark Winter Tour together with The Birthday Massacre and Wednesday 13.
00:57We are promoting our album Opus Noir, where our third volume, it's actually a three-piece album,
01:03is coming out in April on the 10th, I think? Probably. You can look it up.
01:09And that's why we're here. And I'm gonna show you the bus today.
01:12And here we are. I mean, we're in the front. You know what's happening here.
01:16There's the driver sitting. That's not our business. We can't do that, I guess.
01:21This can be our business. This is the looking out onto the road,
01:26letting your thoughts wander. That's that seat.
01:29But I'm gonna show you the front lounge.
01:33There is, however, one rule in the bus. As you can see, my shoes are just like house shoes.
01:41So you have to take your shoes off.
01:44As you can see, it's very dirty because it's a horrible winter.
01:49Okay, so this here, what you see, we only have that since two days.
01:54We've been on the road for, I think, a little over ten days or so.
01:58However, we had a different bus that broke down.
02:02Most importantly, the heating broke down.
02:04And with the degrees outside right now, it's quite dangerous when you have your water and your bunks frozen.
02:14And you see your breath when you wake up and everything.
02:18So we are very, very glad that we're on this bus now, which actually has heating, which is warm, which
02:23is safe.
02:25And it also comes with a bunch of TV. So we have this one and we have another one there.
02:31So when you sit here, you can just do this and not do that.
02:36And when you sit here, you don't have to do this, you can do that, which is very luxurious.
02:41We usually don't really watch TV, but the past two nights, since we have it now, we're so happy.
02:47Maybe we watched the same thing over and over again, because we didn't know how to change it.
02:52And was it a movie with Nicolas Cage and Jared Leto? I don't know the movie. I went to bed.
02:58I don't know. But apart from that, that's the TVs.
03:02Another important thing that you see there is the M&Ms.
03:07Big, big packet. Our singer, Chris, he is addicted to these things.
03:11There are worse things to get addicted to. So it's just M&Ms. We're good.
03:18But you can't always eat just M&Ms. You have to stay healthy, get your vitamin C in.
03:24Especially in the winter. So we have these limes, oranges.
03:29We have some nuts for healthy fats. We have the protein powders.
03:35Normal one, plant-based one, which is mine.
03:39Because you never know how the nutrition is going to go.
03:43So better be safe than sorry. This is an unfinished Coke Zero.
03:49Probably also our singers, because he forgets his Coke Zeros everywhere.
03:56As you can see, the Diet Coke here, it's in like this gaffer tape when you're driving.
04:03This can slide off if it's like that. This slides off because there's no rubber mat.
04:09And everything gets wet and sticky and stuff. So if you have this, it's basically a cup holder.
04:17We could also put it in the cup holder, but that's too easy.
04:21As far as snacks go, we have our drummer and our keyboard player, Garrett and Nick, that's their snacks.
04:33They have a dedicated beer drawer. It's all right. We have other snacks here.
04:39There we go gold beers. Small bag of Skittles.
04:44Most important thing of touring is the coffee machine. I don't know.
04:50These aren't a thing in Germany. We're from Germany.
04:52The Keurig machines, we don't have that.
04:55So we're happy to have that on the bus because they're great.
04:58I think it is. We have more snacks, bread, a toaster, microwave.
05:06And actually the biggest fridge that I have ever seen in the tour bus.
05:11We haven't been on these many tour buses in the west, but it's pretty great.
05:15It's filled with soft drinks, Capri Sun, cottage cheese, light mayonnaise, spare some fats.
05:26All the plant milks you can get, regular milk, baking soda. I don't know why.
05:33I just heard it's for the smell. It takes odors out.
05:36Well, then it didn't get used yet. I don't know.
05:39Oh, actually, one of our crew guys, there's no baking powder.
05:44One of our crew guys put gummy bears in here.
05:49I don't know that he just wants them to last longer, I guess,
05:53and suck on them instead of chew them. I don't know. Maybe it's a good trick.
05:58Try that later. We have a very mundane bathroom where you can only,
06:07obviously you heard that a lot on the two of us, but you can only go pee.
06:11There's nothing else semi-solid or solid going in there.
06:15It's just pee. Important.
06:18Otherwise the tour will be over.
06:20Then we have this table here, which is convenient.
06:25Not every two of us has a table.
06:26This one has not only one, but two tables.
06:29In the back lounge there's another one.
06:30This usually is our media person's guy.
06:34His table where he does his editing, his whatever,
06:39and makes us look great, essentially.
06:41And that's where he is, but he's in the venue right now.

07:01Our guitar player, our other guitar player, Benji,
07:03he's a huge Potter head, and he went to a Harry Potter store.

07:21This is where everyone fights over the temperature.

07:34but that's the perfect temperature to me.
07:39It sometimes is on 88.
07:41I don't know why,
07:43but I think Chris likes it warm.

07:47He says almost too cold.
07:49But yeah, these are the bunks.
07:52Which is funny.
07:53Always funny to us,
07:55because we have these three bunks here on top of each other.
07:58In Europe you usually get two bunks on top of each other,
08:02and more.
08:03But the buses are like double-deckers.
08:05So the bunks are bunk alleys on the second floor, so to speak.
08:11But this is nice as well.
08:12They're huge in my opinion.
08:15This is mine.
08:16There's nothing special in here.
08:18I always see people having these fixtures for their iPad or iPhone or whatever.
08:24I don't have that yet.
08:25Maybe I will get to it on the next tour.
08:27I only have the most important thing which a friend told me I should get is a neck pillow.
08:36I'm not that old yet, but I'm old enough to need a neck pillow.
08:40So shout out to neck pillows.
08:42They make my life very easy.
08:45Other than that, there's just clothes to keep me warm at night if this goes below 70.
08:50I don't know why it would, but sometimes it does.
08:53I have my watch in here so it stays in here.

09:02We are completely filled to the brim with people.
09:06We try to keep it as tidy as possible, but once we move now to the back lounge,
09:11you will see how much of a job, of a good job we're doing.

09:22Oh, it's all right.
09:24I gotta say.
09:25I mean, it's not neat and tidy, but it's also not horrible.
09:33This I just put here because it's my jacket and we have here the radios for crew.
09:37Almost all of them are taken.
09:39Some of them are just spare.
09:42These are my workout clothes from this morning because I went to the gym,
09:47which was nice here in Chicago.
09:50Spare blankets because, as I told you, our last bus broke down
09:54and since it was fucking cold in there, can I swear?
09:57Since it was fucking cold in there, we bought, I think, 20 blankets from Walmart.
10:04Warm blankets to somehow save ourselves.
10:09It kind of worked, but yeah.
10:12I don't know why, how we didn't get sick, but we managed.
10:16It's probably because of all the vitamin C and the M&Ms.
10:20Then what we have here are some gifts from fans, which was nice.
10:25There are shirts in there.
10:26I mean, only the shirts in there left all of the other gifts I took out because I took them
10:34out.
10:35What I didn't take out...
10:40Put that back in there.
10:42What I didn't take out yet because I have gloves, we were gifted hand warmers,
10:48which comes in very handy.
10:50I mean, I need to keep my hands warm because guitarists and they need to stay loose.
10:57So they might come in handy still, even though we have a warm bus now.
11:03This left back here is some junk.
11:07The rest of the junk we try to keep in here, so we try to stay tidy.
11:13There's barely anything in it yet.
11:16Or, I don't know, probably in the venue, all of it.
11:21Check on that.
11:23It's everything in the venue, so it will be filled to the brim later this night.
11:29What we're left with is this place.
11:33This is Tour Manager Alley.
11:35Basically, this is Brian's place.
11:38Brian is our tour manager.
11:39He does a great job, but this doesn't get touched.
11:42No one else sits here except for me right now.
11:45This is his place to do all the tour managing he has to do.
11:50We do have a shower in here.
11:56However, this shower doesn't get used because we are in the comfort and luxe look...
12:03Well, we are in the privileged position to play venues except for one and have showers.
12:11Even if it's just one, we try to have everyone shower at the end of the night there.
12:17So we all rush through it.
12:18No one takes their like 30 minutes of shower thoughts time.
12:22It doesn't work even though we're covered in makeup.
12:25Get it off quickly.
12:26We're used to it.
12:27We can do it in like two minutes and we do that usually so our crew can shower as well.
12:33Because they're the hardest working people in the room, not us.
12:36They have to load in these temperatures.
12:38They have to do all that and they deserve a warm shower.
12:41So whatever warm water we can save for them, we should.
12:46With all that covered, I think that's about it.
12:51That's our bus.
12:52That's where we will be hanging out for the next one and a half weeks still.
12:57And I will gladly do it because I appreciate it on such a different level now since the last
13:05broken bus and you are always happy to hang out here.
13:10So if you want to stay, you can sit down.
13:13I will just go back to the venue now, play a show because that's what we're here for.
