00:00O 4º título começa agora.
00:024.50, 1-1, 1-1.
00:04E aí nós vamos, e o Webb está um bom start.
00:06Plessinger no interior.
00:08Jorge Prado, derrota um pouco mais.
00:10Olha o Cowboy!
00:12Straight to the lead!
00:14Prado veio rocketing out there.
00:16O que a start by Aaron Plessinger.
00:19Olha a look at Justin Varsha.
00:22Ele está lá também.
00:23Varsha, no Ducati.
00:25O Troy Lee Red Bull Ducati
00:27making its debut here tonight in Monster Energy AMA Supercross.
00:31And Justin runs 4º.
00:33These guys are spicy here early.
00:35The first heat race of the season.
00:37Fighting hard for that track position.
00:39Whoa!
00:40Webb on Plessinger.
00:43They both go down.
00:45Yeah, that was actually a racing incident.
00:47What happened was Jorge Prado
00:49was going to run it in on Cooper Webb.
00:52Cooper looked back at Jorge.
00:53I don't think he saw where Aaron came in.
00:55He came in really hot.
00:56Cooper Webb wouldn't hit Aaron Plessinger like that.
00:58But that was all caused by what Jorge was doing to the number one.
01:01My goodness!
01:02Yeah, I mean, everything happened so fast.
01:05Watch what happened.
01:06So, Coop looks over to the inside, sees Jorge going there.
01:10Wasn't anticipating for the 7 of Plessinger to be there.
01:13It was too late.
01:14Complete racing incident.
01:16Man, it happens so quick.
01:18Unfortunate for both Aaron and Coop.
01:23Coop!
01:24Look at...
01:25So that puts the 25-year-old Spaniard out in front.
01:29He goes back to home, like he says, because KTM, Red Bull KTM was where he won his MXGP World Championships.
01:37It was a frustrating year last year with Kawasaki.
01:40He got injured at 8.2.
01:43And then even in the outdoor, in pro motocross, it just didn't go to plan.
01:48So far, it's going to plan.
01:50Yeah, so far, so good.
01:51I mean, I've just seen more aggressiveness out of Jorge than I did all year.
01:55But then you got that number three, Eli Tomac.
01:58And when he's able to make a pass on Justin Barsha, you've got to listen to this crowd go wild.
02:02Ty McLoves this bike, by the way.
02:06Yeah, he does.
02:07He talked about one of the things that he likes about this KTM is how he feels planted.
02:12Maybe some of that is from the steel chassis.
02:14He's also impressed with the amount of power that this machine has.
02:18He said it was the fastest 450 he's ever ridden.
02:20Yeah, and even looking at him coming out of those corners, you can see how planted that motorcycle is.
02:25But just as we talked about earlier how difficult this track is to pass, Eli got up on Justin.
02:30Now you've seen Jorge starting to pull away a little bit.
02:35Al Barsha in second on the Ducati.
02:38Bottom box is Cooper Webb playing catch-up.
02:41He's down in 11th, make it 10th now.
02:43Just got to get one more position, and we'll move into that transfer position after picking himself back up.
02:49I'm looking at the timing and scoring, guys, and AP is dead last.
02:53That was a hard impact.
02:55Hopefully Aaron Plessinger is okay.
02:59Yeah, I think he came by the mechanics.
03:01Eric's shaking his head as Cooper Webb makes another pass.
03:04Most of these guys are going on the outside lane.
03:06You saw Cooper Webb was.
03:07So for Aaron to shoot on the inside, the protection, which he should have done, called both these guys off.
03:14Max Miller making life a little bit difficult there for Cooper Webb, but clears him now.
03:18Meanwhile, top box looking at Justin Barsha.
03:21Just over two and a half minutes plus a lap to go.
03:27Yeah, I believe Cooper Webb keep making his way up as he's in that ninth position now.
03:32Yeah, now it's just big picture, right?
03:34James is getting into the main event.
03:37Justin overjumps that triple out of there.
03:39Good save by him, but...
03:41That was a nice inside line that Eli took right there, being able to get closer to the tough blocks there, Will.
03:47Guys, we've asked all these athletes a lot of questions leading into the season.
03:53Where they're at on their bike.
03:54How testing's been going.
03:55And somebody who's really said, I don't really know, we'll find out, is a 51 of Justin Barsha.
04:00See, like Tomac passes him there.
04:02And that's because he has...
04:04Oh!
04:05He's not going to let it go easy, though.
04:08Definitely.
04:09And that's a good day, Lee.
04:10And that's because he has had six days on this Ducati.
04:14Six days.
04:15So he truthfully can't answer those questions because he hasn't figured it all out yet.
04:19You wouldn't believe it right now, but he's also coming off injuries.
04:22So, however this finishes, whether Eli Tomac passes him or not, just an incredible start in this heat race.
04:27This is supremely frustrating for a guy like Eli Tomac.
04:31Trying to get down to business, catch his teammate.
04:34What a clutch pass right there.
04:36Comes underneath the tunnel.
04:37Triples on.
04:38He's gone.
04:39Yeah, Eli was able to do that at the lap before.
04:42So he probably had a sense that he could get there, Justin.
04:45But you could tell by the way he went on that outside when Justin came back.
04:48He wasn't preparing for that to happen.
04:50And that's what AP was trying to, Aaron Plessner was trying to avoid.
04:53Guys, look in the background.
04:54It's not just all about Barsha up there because his Red Bull Troy Lee design Ducati teammate Dylan Ferrandes runs fourth.
05:01Now, those two have had a bit of a checkered past.
05:03They became teammates.
05:04They had to get over that.
05:06And Justin Barsha has credited Ferrandes with doing so much great work in the offseason,
05:11helping develop with testing and at the test track and what he's brought to the package with that bike
05:17because Barsha himself wasn't able to ride because he was still coming back from injury.
05:21Yeah, both these guys are professional.
05:22They know the only way to make this team better and themselves better is to work together at that point.
05:27And I would have loved to have been there the first day they've met, but obviously they got it going now.
05:32Yeah, for that handshake.
05:33But for sure, teamwork makes a dream work.
05:36And if they can collaborate together, which I heard that they have been doing just that,
05:41it's going to make a huge impact and a positive light for this new race team.
05:47And let's highlight a few other riders. Mitchell Oldenburg's in the top ten.
05:50Austin Faulkner with the Triumph 450 debut in Monster Energy AMA Supercross.
05:55That's a great work from Austin Faulkner.
05:57He's right behind Malcolm Stewart and Joey Savace in the top five.
06:00That's a good ride.
06:01Well, you think about Austin Faulkner. He was going to race the 250 East Division.
06:06Got called up. Jordan Smith is injured, recovering from shoulder surgery.
06:11So we called up Austin Faulkner. He's done a fantastic job, especially if you consider where he was last year on the 250.
06:18He's making massive gains. This is huge for him.
06:23So Cooper, we're going to get by the Liquamoly Beta rider in Mitchell Oldenburg.
06:28Here we go. We're talking about Austin Faulkner, and here he is.
06:30Jordan Smith injured, so therefore Faulkner got promoted to the 450 riders.
06:35The Ducati teammates are going at it.
06:37Yeah, they're going in. Let's see if Justin runs it in.
06:40Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Uh-oh.
06:42Uh-oh.
06:43I expect nothing else. Dylan didn't either. You could tell he didn't lean in it like he would.
06:47Hey guys, let's not lose sight on the lead and second.
06:50The KTM teammates are less than a second apart. Here they are.
06:54Pressure on Jorge Prado on the final lap.
06:57Is Tomac going to win his first ride on a Red Bull KTM?
07:01And how about Prado? Returns to the family where he was so successful in Europe.
07:06Can he come back with a heat win?
07:08James, this is next Rhythm Lane after where Plessinger and Cooper Webb got together.
07:15Eli can be close. Watch the forward drive that Eli has in this Rhythm Lane coming up right here.
07:21Hear that crowd. Oh, they're right in front of a packed grandstand. This is awesome. On their way home.
07:29Really impressed by Jorge as well. He got out of that sand section really good and threw the whoops. Nice run.
07:36Here comes Eli. There's one turn left to go.
07:39Oh, he's got to come up underneath him right here.
07:41Does he do the switchback? Team-mate on team-mate. Forjo Prado.
07:49And team-mate on team-mate again. Justin Barsher will hold. Dylan Ferrandez off. Ferrandez is shaking his head.
07:55I'm not sure if he's frustrated or what's going on, but that was something.
08:01And Cooper Webb with that awkward incident where he crashed into Aaron Plessinger recovers for eighth behind Austin Faulkner.
