00:00Football enters the picture now as the East-West Football League enters the semi-final stage.
00:05The league is spearheaded by the David Nackett Academy.
00:08Nackett held a media briefing today to announce the match-ups.
00:11Trin City Nationals plays against Simeon Road and Legacy FC will be taking on Wolfpack of Central.
00:17He says it's going to be a battle for prize money.
00:21We have that first prize of $120,000 in line
00:26and it's very much the objective of the four teams that are left in the competition.
00:33Now having said that, we've witnessed a community engagement of close to 67,000 followers
00:41and that was a couple of months ago, that has since gone up.
00:45He added they also have intentions of expanding the league.
00:49We now have, which the Prime Minister is also very excited about,
00:55the North-South Classics that we used to have in football back in the day.
01:00We are reintroducing those classics.
01:02North-South, Tobago Central, East against West.
01:07We're introducing those classics back into the football
01:11because we do not want to have a disengagement in the football.
01:15The league is supposed to finish on the 17th.
01:18We don't want to have a disengagement where the communities are left,
01:22as far as football is concerned, unattended as we go forward.
01:26We don't want a whole summer to pass, as we say, summer, July, August holidays,
01:31and no football is being played.
01:33Those days have long gone.
01:36Well, it's been.
