00:00You have a unique set of fans, and they are super passionate.
00:04Can you talk a little bit about kind of what you know about your fans,
00:07what they want, and how you super serve them?
00:09Yeah, absolutely.
00:10I would say for us, we serve a horror audience,
00:13and horror fans are very loud, sometimes very purist,
00:19but they will always tell you whether something's working or not for them.
00:22And I'd say just the reactions we get very often on social
00:26are like the best market research you can get.
00:29And sometimes it's like based on feedback we're getting on our movies.
00:33Sometimes we look at what they're saying about other movies.
00:37We really like to celebrate horror.
00:39We think of us as like Blumhouse is serving the community of horror.
00:43So a lot of times we're looking at not just what they're giving us on our films,
00:47but like how are they feeling about the competition that's coming up?
00:51What are they excited about, right?
00:52It also helps you kind of figure out where you fall in that competitive landscape.
00:57But, you know, we try to meet our fans where they are.
01:01So sometimes it's through live experiences, it's through films,
01:05it's through television series, through games.
01:07But what we're always looking at is, you know,
01:10how can we leverage the reach that we have with our partners
01:14because we don't necessarily distribute ourselves.
01:17We always have a partner with us,
01:20sometimes through Paramount or Sony or Amazon, Netflix.
01:24So for us, it's about like how are you really kind of working closely
01:28with a partner to figure out what information they can share with you.
01:31That's not always easy, but it's how you get the best information.
01:36Can you talk a little bit more about that process?
01:38Yeah, I mean, you know, we have a first look deal
01:41on the theatrical side with Universal.
01:43And I would say that they are a great partner,
01:46having worked with them personally for like six or seven years.
01:49You know, you have a shorthand with people.
01:52Once you've done a couple of movies with a group,
01:55you get to understand like their process,
01:57what they're measuring for, what they'll share with you.
02:00Because oftentimes they want to help us grow the brand
02:04so that we can leverage it to launch the next movie.
02:07So, you know, it's a lot of collaboration.
02:10It requires a lot of trust.
02:12But when you get there with a distributor,
02:13it can really help the movie
02:15that you're trying to put out into the world.
