00:00Let me go back to headliners for a second, all the way back to when you had a hair salon.
00:04At that point in time, you were, you know, a young mother.
00:08You were kind of navigating life as a young professional.
00:12What would you tell that woman that opened that salon?
00:18That, you know, it's going to be a struggle, but it will pay off.
00:22And if you just hang in there and, you know, keep this really, I guess, genuine, you know, we talked
00:32about authenticity.
00:33And it was always a very authentic place.
00:36And it was way more than a hair salon.
00:38It was a therapy session for people because they came in and, you know, I had this salon that was
00:45kind of revolutionary at the time because I didn't allow gossip.
00:48And, you know, if you have the salon experience, that's the place where the gossip goes on, right?
00:53And a lot of extracurricular activity.
00:56And we didn't allow that.
00:58And I encouraged all of my stylists to help each other.
01:02And so we had a rule that if the client wasn't waited on in 15 minutes, they got their money
01:08back.
01:08Trust me, they got to them in 15 minutes.
01:12And it was just camaraderie.
01:14We did Hair for the Homeless on Wednesdays.
01:18And we had, you know, those people came in.
01:21And then I had a very professional clientele.
01:25And so we asked those people to help those women and pull them up.
01:29It was just a place of, I get emotional talking about it because it was way more than a hair
01:34salon.
01:35It was a lot of things.
01:37But it was support for women, just supporting each other.
01:40And, you know, it was a great place.
