00:00Iran is reviewing a U.S. proposal aimed at ending the conflict and is expected to respond through Pakistani mediators
00:07later today.
00:08The proposed 14-point Memorandum of Understanding includes Iran suspending its nuclear enrichment program for 10 to 15 years,
00:17while U.S. will lift long-standing economic sanctions on Iran.
00:21The proposal also calls for restoring free transit through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global shipping route for oil
00:28and energy exports.
00:30However, Iranian Parliament National Security Commission spokesman Ibrahim Rezai reportedly dismissed the proposal and described it as unrealistic.
00:40He warned that the U.S. would gain nothing through military confrontation and said Iran remained prepared to retaliate if
00:47necessary.
00:48U.S. President Donald Trump later said he'd remain confident that the conflict would end soon and claimed most people
00:54supported preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
00:58Speaking during a virtual campaign event, Trump said recent talks with Iran had been productive and a deal still remained
01:05possible despite regional tensions.
01:07Trump also warned that military strikes could resume with greater intensity if negotiations failed
01:13and said Operation Epic Fury would continue until Iran accepted agreed terms.
